Well - I spent the day finding tutorials on how to use photo impact. I finally (after 6 months) am able to print a design. I still can't figure out how to reverse the sign without going into another print program (i used PhotoShop & flipped it), but that's for another day. so 12 hours later, below is all I have to show for it. All i had to do was put a frame on it and do the lettering & i spent all day doing it. :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:
But Sam will be happy because he likes Mushu. & now that I have it down, the next one should be a little easier. Penny

That looks great, Penny! I downloaded my free trial of PhotoImpact yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I think I should have waited until Monday to download...time's a wastin'!

By the way, can you point me to some good tutorials?

Beth

Beth - Thank you, I used the Video tutorials in PhotoImpact 10 & I went to the sticky's at the top of this forum & found the following recommendation. Between the both of them & a lot of trial & error, i figured it out.
obviously I didn't learn how to make the picture smaller, as it came up way to big on this site. Oh well, one thing at a time. Penny

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a
stuffing - imagine that! When I found this recipe, I thought it was
perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when
poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.
Give this a try.

BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN

6-7 lb. baking chicken
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn
(ORVILLE REDENBACHERS LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt,
and pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.

Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.

Listen for the popping sounds.

When the chicken's *** blows the oven door open and the chicken flies
across the room, it is done.

:stir:
Now why can't all cookbooks be this detailed ;)

OK, do any of my DDA friends have a Pal Mickey? If so, what do you think about him? I've seen a lot of good and bad. Still haven't decided. My DH loves the background info on the parks so I'm thinking that he might enjoy that side of it. Any info you guys might have would be appreciated.

Yesterday, the temperature here was 44 degrees. Everything was melting. It started snowing about 4 hours ago. Since then, we have gotten about 3 inches. Crazy!!!! :scratchin :scratchin

I have one but have not got to use it in the parks yet. I bought the older one for 14.00. We love him at home. He tells funny jokes and plays 2-3 games at home. I can't wait to use him in the parks in a few weeks.

It's been raining here all day so the 12 inches we got last week is gone!

While you were getting snow last week, we had mostly rain. We are about 5 hours North of Chicago.

Matt did great in our absense - he had more fun with his grandad than he does with us!! But we didn't bring him anything from the gift shop at EE, we didn't spend too much time in there, we were more anxious to go try the ride again!!
The ride looks cool. I can hardly wait the 2 years to go ride it. I have this list of rides I must go on first day we're there. :rotfl:

So anyone have advice to how to find things in Tourguide Mike. I got my subscription, but it seems hard to find the info. I'm looking for. :confused3
Does he give advice anywhere on how to pick the right hotel? I think that should be the first thing we plan so we can make reservations as soon as they release 2007 rates.

I hope everyone is doing well. Sending pixie dust :wizard: to everyone, it sounds like everyone can use it for some reason or another. I have been super busy since I have had training for my new job the last two weeks, plus I am still working my other job full time. I will continue to work full time at my old job and part time at my new job, since the new place was unable to offer me full time hours and I need to keep my benefits. Today is my day off so I am trying to catch up and get things done.

I am working 72 hours this coming week. 8 hours which is midnight to 8am the one night. it shall be interesting. The new job wanted me to work another midnight to 8am shift but I told them I couldn't. I hope to be around but have no idea if that will happen.

Plus I still have my Brownie troop that meets once a week. That I basically run by myself. Even though I have no kids. I don't think I will have the troop next year. The parents are just using it as a babysitting service or so it seems. They want no involvement whatsoever. It makes me :sad2:  that the parents don't even want to spend 2 hours for one night every eight weeks helping the troop. Once every two months, if one parent for every girl rotated to stay and help. But that wo hours is too much to ask.

Most of the girls have one parent who is a SAHM or SAHD. They have two parents with a deccent income. But they don't want to get involved in their kids lives. :sad2: I couldn't even get all of their parents to show up a half an hour early to watch their daughters at their investiture and rededication ceremony.

I know lots of people have much bigger problems, having to attend funerals, family members ill, unable to get medicaid, still smelling :smokin: days later. I have basically spent my day off running all over doing prep work for my Brownie troop and now I am sitting here filling out all the paperwork for upcoming trips. What a wonderful way to spend my day off.

The parents complain they don't have the time because they work. I am sorry but are you working 72 hours a week??? No you might work a few hours on the weekend and homeschool your kids during the week. Sending your kids to Grandmas's, their Dad's or an Aunt's every weekend while you work. Which makes all the time to plan a field trip on a Saturday a waste because than only 2 girls could go but no one told me until the Wednesday before the scheduled trip. Sorry to vent it just has me frustrated, no wonder the world is what it is.

Becky
:wizard: I can see how that would be frustrating. That is sad that parents don't want to be involved in their kids' activities. Hope things get better.

Yes, and I am getting tired of it!! It is so sloppy...kids, dogs, mud...not a good combo!

I'm off to bed to read my new WDW Passporter 2006 and listen to my new Disney's Greatest Volume 2 CD. They came in the mail today. I already have the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2005, Birnbaum's WDW Dining Guide 2005, The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom, Birnbaums' WDW 2006. I got the Disney's Greatest 1 & 3 for Christmas (they didn't have 2 at the time).

I got my WDW vacation planning kit the other day. I've watched that several times as well as watched my DVC DVD and read the material several times. Only 35 more days and we'll be leaving the Magic Kingdom after the Spectromagic Parade on our first night. Yeah!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo: Here we come Tigger!:tigger:

Yes, I'm also an obsessive planner. I got my TourGuide Mike membership this year as well. I'm looking at making t-shirts, sweatshirts, autograph books, a journal, and who knows what else before the time comes. It helps the time pass until we are there. Working on Tinkerbell visits for my youngest and something for my eldest as well (not sure what yet - probably Cinderella).

Good night DDA.

What is the Imagineering Field Guide? :confused3 I have Birnbaums and unofficial guides but I didn't know there was a dining guide. I'll have to check the bookstore for that one. As if I don't have enough books. :rolleyes1
Someone asked about Pal Mickey, I was also curious about him as I was thinking of getting one for the boys.

It is an Imagineer's Eye Tour by the Imagineers of the Magic Kingdom. The back says:

"An Imagineering Field Guide is our chance to show you the Disney parks the way we see them - all the stories, the details, and the design references that we've created for your enjoyment. Whether we're working on the next new thing, explaining an inside joke to a Guest, or just showing off our work to a complete stranger, nobody likes talking about the Disney parks more than we do! So, let us take you on a tour of Magic Kingdom Park, where you'll make many new discoveries about this wondrous place. You'll hear how each land was conceived and see the placement of subtle and hidden details that bring each land and attraction to life. We'll show you development art for all your favorite attractions, with sketches, paintings, and schematics and tell you all the stories we wish we could tell you in person. It will make you see the Magic Kingdom as you've never seen it before. It's the next best thing to a personal tour with an Imagineer!"

It isn't a touring guide to the Magic Kingdom. It is more a behind the scenes kind of book. This is the stuff my husband enjoys. He is an engineer and loves this kind of stuff. He enjoys the reasoning behind why the lands were laid out the way they were, etc. It is a really cool book.

I love that sort of stuff too! I'm going to have to find that book!

Good night DDA.

You sound like me! At least your trip is in March and not October or May of 2007. I've got tshirt ideas and autograph book plans all working out in my head. Terra and I talk MNSSHP costumes regularly. I'm dying to buy my new TGM subscription. I just packed my 2006 Passporter to take to the aquarium with us in case Terra falls asleep. Oh and I probably shouldn't even mention the box (okay boxeES) of Tinkerbell gifts I have in my closet that I have been buying for 3 years for my Sis, Niece, Nephew and DD on the big family trip.

I've been planning this trip since 2 weeks after I got back from our trip last March! ;) When we left, my DH told my oldest at the airport, "Well, I think we can wait a couple years to come back, don't you?" so I wasn't sure when we got home whether I was going to be going back anytime soon. Two weeks later, he woke up one morning saying he had been dreaming about Disney. I knew then that we'd be going back year after year! Yeah!!!!!!

That looks fantastic! It's crystal clear, and the colors and lettering are great! Did you find the background, etc on Photoimpact?! You did a great job!
