:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you and Abi. I'm sure it must have taken her time to get the courage to admit that she messed up. If this is a first time, I'd consider the stress that she is under and be a bit lenient on the punishment. I think that really getting her to talk about what was going through her head at the time is a great start. Maybe the two of you can come up with a suitable punishment together. :wizard:

I agree with this! If it's a "first offense", then I'd be a bit lenient. If this is an ongoing thing that's another matter. My brother did this sort of thing habitually. Finally, my mom called his teachers and explained the problem. They came up with a phone tree to make sure that information on his homework got home. It embarrassed him so badly to have to report back to his teachers and his mommy every day that he changed his attitude pretty quickly.

Deb - I'm going to second the advice from the others: don't wait too long to take the meds! Take it from someone who has been where you are more times than she cares to remember! Kidney stone pain can get excruciating! Do the pain meds make you sleepy? That might be the only reason I could see for putting them off.

We all love you, and want you to feel better. Also, really push liquids (cranberry juice especially), and hopefully, you can get the stones moving and out of your system. Believe me, you'll be able to feel them once they get going! At that point, do NOT wait to take your meds!!! That will be the worst pain you've ever felt. It's 10 hundred times worse than labor without an epidural!!!!!

The meds to make me tired, but I've managed to keep going today. Funny you should mention cranberry juice. I have always been told to drink cranberry juice to clean out the kidneys, but the doctor specifically told me not to drink cranberry juice as it can increase the size of the stones. She said water, gatorade, koolaid or even diet soda is fine, just to drink a lot. I have already drank at least 60 oz today so I think I'm doing ok in that department. Lord knows I can't be far from the bathroom.

I agree, but the doctor prefers that I not take the meds if I'm going to be alone with the kids or if I need to drive. That covers about 1/3 of my day so they only gave me 20 pills so I don't think that will last until Jan 2. She said to call if I need more or if anything changes. The other reason that I have been delaying taking them is because I'm drinking a ton and hopefully I can flush the stone or crystal out on my own. The pain should immediately subside (I think). I want to know whether I'm still trying to pass it or if it might have passed. Does that even make sense? I think I need a nap.

Deb

Once the stone passes, you will feel NO MORE PAIN! It's the most wonderful thing in the world! Good for you for pushing the drinking. Did they give you a strainer? I hated that part of the whole thing. In all my bouts with stones, I've only ever caught one. However, I was able to have that stone analyzed. My stones are primarily made up of uric acid which is the bad news. If they were made of calcium, there is a medication you can take that will prevent stones from forming. Nothing like that exists for the uric acid stones.

Nope, came back to heck!! My newest coworker was fired last night...have more work piled on me that has to be done today
AND
Abi waited until her ride was here to show me the referral she got yesterday. Not a good one.....she lied to her teacher about her math times test score...teacher caught it and now she has to fill out the referral...so I spent the morning leaving voice mails with three of her teachers about it...saying that she showed it to me but that it won't get filled out until tonight because 2 minutes is not enough time to fill it out...and I want to find out what was going through her head.

She also had Dylan for a partner for the science fair project that was due today and did 95% of the work for it. His mom, my best friend, allowed him to excuse his way out of working on it. She is either too hard on him or trying to be friends with him, nothing in the normal range. All of this came to a head on Saturday night and I am not ready...just yet...to not be mad at her.

I am an emotional wreck and I just wanna go home and put the covers over me!!

Keep you chin up. This too shall pass. You are a strong woman and can handle all this. Take it one step or project at a time and you will get it done. Can your dh deal with Abi? Sounds like you already have enough on your plate.

Hmmm, interesting on the cranberry juice. My doctor's want me to push cranberry juice. Thinking about it, that's probably because I never am able to capture the stones. Maybe the doctor wants them bigger, so he tells me to drink the cranberry juice. Hmmmm......

Brother & I went to the mall today. I bought some jeans at Sears for DS because I thought he might need another pair to take to Disney, but it turned out that he didn't need them. Since all the jeans he has are the exact same size I decided we don't need another pair, especially since he is in a uniform for school. Sears has 30% off Lands End ladies stretch fleece pullovers, and I had a $5 coupon so I got a pullover for $9! :teeth:

I bought 3 ornaments at Hallmark, used a $5 coupon there AND got a free ornament with purchase of 3. Even though our tree isn't up I wanted to make sure I got my series ornaments before they sold out. Other ornaments can wait until the day after X-mas when they are half price.

Bought DH a pair of shorts at Macy's - 75% off plus a 20% off coupon. They were originally $42, paid $10.

Went to the Disney Store to start reloading that gift card for February. They had some Halloween and Thanksgiving pins marked down to $3, and I had a 15% coupon so I got 8 pins for $22. Those will come in handy to trade! DS got a really nice Mickey Santa pin from a CM at MK. I wonder what the CM had before that made someone willing to give up Santa Mickey? DS won't trade any of his pins that he buys. He will only trade ones that I have bought for him to trade that are duplicates, so pins on clearance are a magical thing! :)

I try to hit the Disney Outlet stores early in our trip and pick up a bunch of cheap pins for the kids to trade. I've been looking at pins on ebay, but haven't seen any cheap enough yet. All 3 of my kids like to trade so it takes a lot of pins. I guess since we are going for 3 weeks I may need more for this trip. That's another thing to put on my to get list.

Cool, you sound like me yesterday! :thumbsup2
I was back at the mall today..got Dana 4 Nautica dress shirts at Macy's ($25 off any $100 purchase). Got Daniel an alarm clock & a mets calendar. Also got Katie the cutest pj bottoms at Aeropostale..They are green & say "sugar & spice & everything nice" on them. I am so shopped out & the mall was sooo hot..It's 50 degrees & they have the heat on full blast!

No strainer yet. I think that doctor thought that I would be seen quicker by urology. From what you guys have told me and from what my mother and brother have experienced I suspect that I'm really in no pain at all. While I find myself on the brink of tears a few times a day I know that it is going to get much worse before it gets better. I have a high tolerance for pain so hopefully that will help, but I'm not looking forward to any of it.

Do's & Don'ts

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don't set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future,
By living your life one day at a time.

Don't give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less then perfect.
It is a fragile thread that binds each of us to each other.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love; The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don't dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope; to be without hope is to be without purpose.

Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

Enabler Alert!

As I was flipping channels, I saw a bunch of Disney jewelry so I stopped to watch the commercial. It was for a QVC Disney Jewelry show that is on tomorrow at 5pm. Some really cute stuff!!

If anyone sees any Disney pins that are good for trading for under $4, could you pick some up for me. I'll pay you for them. We don't have many to trade and I really want to in February. I don't want to have to buy new ones full price at Disney because I would just want to keep them! That defeats the fun of trading.

Is anyone here? I am feeling absolutely horrible today! I can't believe how stuffed up my head is. I wish I knew whether it was sinuses or an actual cold. I'm thinking sinuses because the weather changed again and this is the kind of weather that drives my sinuses crazy lately. I think I'll be going to the doctor and demanding an allergy test. It used to only last a month or two but this has been a problem for at least 3 months now.

Janet - Yep. I am quite the mall rat! :teeth:

Vicki - Speaking of enabling... Dollar Tree had light up Disney pins yesterday. Pooh, Piglet, Cinderella, Belle, and Ariel. Not fabulous quality, but we are only talking about $1. ;)

Deb - I bought every pin my Disney Store had left. I will check back after Christmas to see if they mark any others down.

Anne Marie - What a shame you don't live close to me! We would make quite the shopping team!

I looked at luggage at Dillard's today. They have quite a bit that is 75% off. I can get a Delsey carry-on for $40. BUT they sometimes run an extra 30% off all sale prices so I think I will watch for that. It would be very beneficial to us NOT to check any luggage in February. Our flight isn't due in until 7 PM and DH will have to work early the next morning, so waiting around for the luggage is not a good thing. The problem is we only have 2 carry-ons that will hold enough stuff for 3 days. The carry-on DH usually uses is pretty small, so we need another 21" one if we are going to attempt no checked bags. I looked at Ross, too, but the one at Dillard's would be less.

I need to find Brio train track for DS. He has decided that's what he wants for Christmas. Hopefully I will be able to find it somewhere other than the boutiques, because I know they have it but it is more than I want to pay!

Vicki - Sorry you aren't feeling well! Hopefully the Dr. can help you sort out if it is allergies or something else!
I will let you know if I run across more cheapy pins. :)

Chuck is home and brought in the mail. I sure hope that I have some Christmas cards! I do, I do! They are from Girl Scout friends instead of DDA ones but they are greatly appreciated right now!

I love cards! Or anything else that isn't bills and isn't addressed to "resident". ;)

I'm here off and on! I'm making peanut brittle and so I'm in and out between batches. I've always been afraid of making brittle, but I found a great microwave recipe, that is really idiot proof (and it tastes just like my grandma's brittle)! If anyone wants the recipe, let me know! Trust me, if I can do it, ANYONE can do it!

I'm so sorry that your sinuses are acting up! Do you have any meds for it? Have you seen your doctor yet? We can't have you feeling yucky for Christmas.

That reminds me: I sent out the first batch of Christmas cards yesterday, and like an idiot, I forgot to include my first name. So, some of you will be getting cards that just say Neves on the envelope. That's from me! Sorry to be so dopey, but that's what you get when you are trying to do a couple of things at one time!

ETA: WooHoo!!!!! I can't believe I got this milestone! I haven't had one in a long time!!!! Thanks, everyone for helping me get this!!!!!
