Amy - Matthew is so adorable!!! Those teething times can be bad! Good luck as you get through it. Just try to remember what he looks like when he's not cranky, and you'll get through the cranky times.

I love the cookies!!!!! I haven't done much cut out this year. I've done several batches of drop cookies, and the dough is frozen, just waiting for someone to need cookies.

Lately, I've been trying my hand at some other treats. Yesterday I made a batch of Microwave peanut brittle. It turned out so incredibly yummy! It was difficult, because the bowl I used didn't have a handle, and it was hot, so pouring it out was hard. I'm going to make some more using a glass measuring bowl today. I've also been inspired to make some Oreo truffles. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Hi Theresa!!!
Hope things are better for you today.

Nope, came back to heck!! My newest coworker was fired last night...have more work piled on me that has to be done today
AND
Abi waited until her ride was here to show me the referral she got yesterday. Not a good one.....she lied to her teacher about her math times test score...teacher caught it and now she has to fill out the referral...so I spent the morning leaving voice mails with three of her teachers about it...saying that she showed it to me but that it won't get filled out until tonight because 2 minutes is not enough time to fill it out...and I want to find out what was going through her head.

She also had Dylan for a partner for the science fair project that was due today and did 95% of the work for it. His mom, my best friend, allowed him to excuse his way out of working on it. She is either too hard on him or trying to be friends with him, nothing in the normal range. All of this came to a head on Saturday night and I am not ready...just yet...to not be mad at her.

I am an emotional wreck and I just wanna go home and put the covers over me!!

Well, I thought I was done buying gifts for my kids, but apparently not. Katie informed me today that her Build a Bear needs a new outfit. If I get one for her, all the rest of them will need new outfits, too. So, I'm off to Build A Bear after I drop the twins off at preschool. Wish me luck! At least I'm not making any bears, I know that line will be astronomical!

Alan is gone until tomorrow, so it's just me and the 4 kids. We're going to take it easy after school, and just hang out and watch a movie tonight.

Talk to you all later!

This is what I was thinking, some type of gift certificate.

How about a gift certificate for a movie and a snack. If she likes movies she might enjoy a Movie date with her hubby and she would choose a snack that was ok with her allergies.

Ok, Theresa! First of all here's a :grouphug: for you. You sound like you need it! Second of all, you need to come visit me! You should come down here and let me show you around and just get away from it all! I joke, but know that you would be so welcome! I wish I lived closer so that I could come grab you and go for lunch! Just know, that if you really feel like getting away, there's a spare bedroom here for you whenever you need it!

You & Debbie are sharing a brain today & with very good advice!

Deb,
Ok, I might be over stepping since I have never met you BUT take your meds before you are in absolute pain. I had a diseased gall bladder & had it out eventually. Before that i was on pain meds & my dr said never wait til its so bad to take them. Take them at the onset of pain...just saying this so you don't suffer & cause I care... :teeth:

Glad to hear you are feeling better Jen!

Morning everyone!
im feeling great this morning..Im just resting for a bit, and then will get up and do some chores and get ready to go to rowan for hte last time for awhile :)

have a great day!

Well, my plans for lunch are shot. I was supposed to meet up with my two best friends here in town for our monthly lunch. However, since I've been in my office (which is in the basement), it decided to rain and is now below freezing. There is no way I'm going out on icy roads. Chuck wants me to pull the suburban into the garage in case we need to go rescue Becky from school. I can handle rain, I can handle snow, and I can handle cold but I can NOT tolerate ice.

You know, I always said I'd never get cell phones for my kids, but lately I've been rethinking that. 2 weekends ago, DH had to cover a potentially tragic story. 2 16 year old boys rode their bikes along the edge of Utah lake. They saw ice, and figured the lake was frozen through. They decided to ride their bikes across the lake. About 1 foot away from shore the ice cracked and they both fell through into the freezing water. It wasn't too deep, but they were in a marshy area, and their bikes (and themselves) got tangled up. One of them had a cell phone and was able to call 911. It's a huge lake, and these boys had no idea where they were on it. Search and rescue looked for them over an hour and couldn't find them. DH's news station sent their helicopter up to help with the search. They spotted the boys, and led Search and Rescue to them. By that time, they'd been in the freezing water about 2 hours. Luckily, they survived, and are fine now, but they could have been in really big trouble without that cell phone. Makes you think!

Cassidy having a cell phone is a great thing....when she was locked out of the house a couple of weeks ago she was able to call me and we worked it out. It also is a great tool while shopping because Daddy often wonders off by himself. I also don't have to worry about where she is...give the cell phone a jingle.

The kidney pain is just starting to bother me this morning. For some reason I feel ok when I get up and it gets progressively worse throughout the day. I have my pain meds ready, but don't want to take them until I can't stand it anymore. I have to pick Hunter up at school at 11, get Colby and Logan to school by 11:30, take Hunter to be fitted for a special needs stroller at 12, pick up Colby and Logan at 1:15. I probably won't bring Hunter back to school as there will only be about 45 minutes left to the school day by then, but we'll see. Nick is a little jealous and asked to be picked up today too at 2:30. Then we have Nick's concert at 7 PM. Just another busy day in this chaotic month. Tomorrow Nick is presenting an oral report at 1:30 so we have been invited to that too. I'll check back later.

Deb
I know how you feel Deb. Run, run, run. I so look forward to January when things slow down a bit. But then it usually takes 2 weekends for me to get all the Christmas stuff put away. So I'm thinking February is when I can relax!

:grouphug: Wish I could do more. Take some time today to reflect on the season and friends/family. Maybe then you will be able to talk to Abi and your best friend and work through things. Good luck.

Alyssa's concert this morning went well, but it only lasted about 15 minutes. For all the hype and taking the time off work, I wish they would have a bigger/longer performance. But I guess with 2.5 - 5 year olds, 15 minutes is the best they can do. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Amy - Matthew is such a cutie pie! And thanks for your post...it brought tears to my eyes. But it did make me think of Deb and her kid's wish for a clone!

Theresa- Deep breaths dear, sending tons of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: , :grouphug: :grouphug: and prayers to get you through. Try to take some time for yourself, even if it is just a coffee break or a short walk. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. :grouphug: :wizard:

You be careful too Elin.
Home again, home again, jiggity jog! The fog was horrible, but I got her and we are safe and sound back at home. I have already printed programs and taught two private lessons and am about to get all gussied up for recitals. See you all later!

I can't believe its almost 1pm and still foggy or hazy.

Santa letters are in the mail. Unfortunately I think they killed the laser printer. I got 4 printed and tried all different things to get it printing again but it wouldn't work, so I printed the rest on the other printer.

I'm off to work. Have a great day everyone.

For those of you with younger kids there is a great book titled: Silver Spurs written by Robert R Knigge. It is a story about how Santa is able to get into houses with small chimneys or no chimneys by having his smallest elf Silver Spurs fit down the small chimneys or through key holes in doors to open the door and let Santa in. It was mine from when I was little and I have read it too all my kids. Great short story.

Deb
LOVE that book! I read it to the kids when they were little.

Hope I'm not out of line by "saying" this, but you really shouldn't wait so long to take your pain meds, if you take it at the onset of your pain you may be able to avoid the worst part of the pain, if you wait until you can't stand it anymore you will just be suffering needlessly.
I was going to say the same thing, Debbie. Glad youhad the guts to just say it. That is wht my doctor told me when I was dealing with pain a number of years ago, Deb. Please try taking your pain meds al ittle more often and see if you don't feel better longer.

Thank you all for the hugs....I feel a bit better...but am not looking forward to talking to Abi after school. She said she grounded herself for 2 weeks....because of the referral...I am thinking that because of the way she brought it to me that she shouldn't be the grounder and that the main punishment would be for the failure to tell me in a timely manner. But what's a good punishment for a kid who started bawling as soon as she showed it to me and just plain is having a rough time of it???
