Have any of you guys stayed at WL before? I am looking forward to it! I am already thinking about what "extra" things I want to do in August. I have been wanting to go to La Nouba, and DS will love it! DH wants to do a fishing charter, so I will probably book that for him. Not sure if DS & I will join him or not. I really want to parasail but I don't think it would be good for my back. Since I have come to the conclusion that MGM is not an "all day" park for us this MIGHT be the trip where we have one day that we don't go to the parks. Maybe we'll have a DTD day or try out a water park.
We've stayed at WL and loved it!

Deb - I hope your stone passes quickly! I've never had them but hear they can be very painful. Hopefully the meds will take the edge off.

I just read the e-mail from my friend regarding the waivers. That is a BILL. It is NOT part of the law that has already passed. So it looks like right now there is NO waiver system in place at all. HA! So we will almost certainly start school Aug. 27.

Vicki - I don't think we would be at a water park in February. ;) I think I will probably be in my hat and gloves as opposed to my swim suit! But in August I will consider a water park. Not sure which. Maybe I will let DS pick. It really wasn't my intention for us to stick with our friends for every minute of the trip. The complaining friend had it in his head that we needed to be in a group the entire time. Not going to do that again!

Janet - I hope your BIL has fun!

Oooh. Weird error message on my screen! Let's see if my reply will post!

the thing is i do want to send them..i love sending out cards! i just dont see it happening!
Jen - I used to love to send out cards, but when I took this job I realized that my Christmas "excesses" were over. :goodvibes I don't have time to send cards anymore and it makes me sad, but it is something I have accepted. I do send out an electronic card to loved ones, and this year it will include my DDA family too. Only do what you have time and energy for. You will enjoy the holidays much more that way. :sunny:

I would have LOVED to have stayed there for our December trip, but in keeping with my "quick and cheap" theme I resisted. ;)
Do you think it will still be fun in the summer, or is it more of a winter resort? Obviously the big fireplace won't be much fun in the sweltering temps! We loved AKL in the summer, but I really want to try out some other resorts.

Deb - I hope you are feeling better really soon. This is an awful time for you to be having kidney stones!

Elizabeth - I hope the vacation time frame works out in your favor. I can only imagine how silent it is at your house right now.

Janet - your Tinks look great on your tree.

Tammi - I am glad that Nicholas was feeling better today.

Ellen - I forgot to tell you last night how glad I am that your grandchild is home.

I am betting I forgot someone, but will try to remember more for the next post tonight or tomorrow morning. I am feeling no better, no worse. I have 4 recitals tomorrow plus my private student lessons. And to top it off I am driving to Richmond to pick Kristin up for Winter Break. I hope I get it all done!! But I cannot wait to see her and have her home.

I do think it will be fun. There is such a relaxed atmosphere about the WL that I think it would be a great place any time of year.

OK - I have one more set of programs to design for tomorrow's recitals. So I think I will call it a night here on the DIS and get that done. I am leaving here at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow to get Kristin. I have a student at 11:00 and have to be back in time to teach. Enjoy the evening, DDA friends.

Elin - I hope you feel better soon! Momboss took some Airborne today that a co-worker gave her and she said it is amazing. She told me to get some the next time I go to Sam's. This is the time of year that everybody is sniffling (or worse!) so I hope you can recover quickly!

That's good to hear! In all the pics I have seen of the resort it doesn't look like it is cold outside - it still seems inviting in warm weather.

DH and I are speaking to each other now. I called to tell him the school is now saying the start date isn't in question, just the arrangement of days during the school year.

After that he called me because apparently DS was supposed to sing at school tonight. Well, I got exactly ONE e-mail about it. I got the e-mail YESTERDAY. And it just referenced choir and strings - nothing about the general population of 5th graders! DS said the music teacher just told them today they were supposed to be there tonight at 5:30. I don't finish work until 6 PM, and getting off early isn't really an option if I don't give Momboss some advance notice! DS didn't want to go to the program so we let him skip it. The whole thing would have been over by the time I got there, and since DH has to be in bed by 8 PM it is hard for us to do things in the evening without planning ahead. I don't know what the problem is with the school lately, but they do not get notices out in a timely fashion! Rather aggravating.

Hi everyone. I just got the kids in bed. Nicholas was completely fine today. Just more whiney than usual and it was really getting on my nerves. I had a funny conversation with his dad today. The last thing Nicholas ate before he threw up last night was a Christmas cookie that they had made while over at his place this weekend. So I asked John if they were poisoned and intended for me, because they made Nicholas sick. He laughed. I wonder.....

Tomorrow is Alyssa's Christmas concert at preschool, so I am off again. They will be singing Go Tell it on the Mountain, Rise Up Shepherd and Follow, and some other Jesus Lullaby that I never heard of. Her dad is going to be there. Then tomorrow evening her daycare has some kind of performance for the parents. I think they are doing some sort of rendition of Twas the Night Before Christmas.

I will be. I'm giving the video camera to her dad. If he's going to be there, the least he can do is help out!

OMG! Tammi! I hope you don't honestly think your ex would do something like that! YIKES!

I am glad Nicholas is feeling better. Vomit is never fun.

Brother felt pretty yucky today. He stayed at school until 12:30 as usual, but then he just felt terrible after that. He fell asleep in the carpool line waiting for Sister but I woke him up so he would sleep at home. He did nap at home, but it was fitful. He ate some mac & cheese for dinner, then he just sat with me on the couch. He is horribly congested and he didn't really play much at all today. :guilty:

Thanks. No I don't think that. It was said in jest. ;)

I hope you don't catch whatever bug brother has.

I think I watch too many of those "Cold Case Files" shows! I have also seen some REALLY vicious divorces, so you never can be too careful! ;)

I will probably catch some sort of a cold from being snotted and sneezed on repeatedly, but it is an occupational hazard.

So I thought I was finished with the kids shopping but noooooooooooo!!! I just had to go to the mall & all heck broke loose! I somehow found myself in the Disney store :confused3 . I bought Sophie an adorable dusty pink dress with a pink satin ribbon on the waist, pink stockings with gold tiaras on them, jasmine (like polly pocket) playset, & an Aurora PJ. I also got myself a nice soft Mickey throw which I have on my shoulders now. :teeth: Then over to Claires for accessories for Katie (mostly Jack Skelenton)...next was JC Penney..finally found Daniel some size 7 slim jeans that don't fall off his can when he is running :rotfl2: 2 pairs for $18 plus my $10 off coupon so $8 for 2 jeans!! :smooth: It was then time to pick up the kids..so when I got home I ordered some sneakers for me (Skechers, black biker patroler) which I tried on in Macy's this morning & were $100!!! Got them Sketcher.com for $51 & no shipping! Went to Land's End.com & ordered a nightgown for me (the suptima tee sleep shirt..so soft I have 3) & ordered some pixel chixs at Amazon for $10 each (they are $30 in the stores!) Whew..my credit card is smokin!
