I haven't been to either but I hear great things about them both.

Flying Fish seems to be very popular over on Restaurants right now. Citrico's menu intrigues me, so we might need to try that, too. And we might have to hit Wolfgang Puck's the night we go to Cirque. But it looks like Puck's Cafe takes DDP and NOT DDE. Puck's Dining Room takes nothing! :rotfl: I wonder if you can make ADRs for the Cafe?

I don't know anything about the DTD restaurants, other than the mostly negative stuff I've heard about all of them. Good luck with the planning.

I ready to head off to dreamland. Talk to you all in the morning.

Thanks for the advice. I'm so glad to have these tips. I've never really had to deal with burns, so wasn't sure what to do. I'm so lucky to have friends that care like y'all do!

The worst burns I have seen have been on little kids. My friend's charge burned her forearm on a nightlight, a little boy in my Gymboree class burned his palm on a steam humidifier, one of my former charges burned his arm on the oven when his mom was cooking, and when Sister was younger she grabbed Momboss's hair iron thing (like a curling iron, only it straightens). Luckily Sister's hand wasn't burned severely, but it scared her so she cried FOREVER.

In middle school we were making lollipops. We were pouring the melted sugar into foil molds, and my friend accidentally stuck her fingers in the hot syrup when she was trying to scoot the mold over to make more room on the table. That's how I know about the sugar burns.

Hopefully you won't need to deal with any more burns in the future! :wizard:

The only DTD restaurant we have been to is Fulton's, and it was really good!

Good night, Tammi! Chat with you tomorrow!

That is one thing I seem to do alot of, I'm always finding hot surfaces to burn myself on. The worst burn I ever had was on my stomach.

Since I know the next question is going to be how did I do that, here ya go.
It was from a pizza oven sitting on a countertop and I was stretching to reach something on the top of the cabinet. It burned me through my shirt, I am so glad I had a cotton shirt on and not something nylon or something that would have melted fast. It was about 2 inches high and 7 inches wide across my stomach.

Hopefully you won't need the burn first aid treatment anytime soon.

Becky - OWWW!

Do you all see why I try to stay OUT of the kitchen? :confused3

I understand. Even if I stayed out of the kitchen I would still probably find places to burn myself.

Night Elizabeth.

I should probably do the same as when I go into work tomorrow, I have to close for today so I can open tomorrow. It wouldn't close tonight and the computer guy said he would check into the issue tonight.

Im headed to bed too--ill probably get on here in the morning before i head to student teaching! (im hoping to sleep in a bit!) have a great night

Knock on wood!!! Actually, I'm pretty careful with hot sugar. As a child, my grandfather used to make honey taffy, and I was burned while pulling the taffy. It really made me more careful with hot sugar!

OUCH!!!!!

In college I was in a play one time, and I was changing costumes, but my dresser felt that the gown I was changing into needed to be steamed. She pulled it off me (leaving me bare from the waist up) and she proceeded to steam the gown....RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! I was hit with hot steam on my chest area. Oh, man!!! That was horrible!!!!

That was the last time I was burned, other than sunburns. Funny that the next bad burn I experienced was also a steam burn. Looks like a trend, huh?

Well, good night everyone! I'm off to finish the next batch of Christmas cards, and then to bed! I have my bowling tomorrow morning. It's our annual Christmas party. We each bring a 10 dollar gift and once you get a strike, you get to pick a present. I hate that pressure. It pretty much guarantees that I won't get a strike all day, and I'll end up with whatever's left.

Oh well, at least there will be yummy treats!

Congratulations, Jen! :cheer2:

Glynis - In the future if you burn your self do not put butter or Vaseline on it. That seals in the heat and causes the burn to go deeper into the tissue. Just put cool water on it, then cover it with some loose gauze. There is some reason not to use ice, though I can't recall exactly what that reason is. An OTC burn ointment or cream would probably be good for the pain, along with some Tylenol. I am glad the Solarcaine helped! Be careful with that peanut brittle - sugar burns are REALLY painful.

Theresa - So maybe Abi deserves a little slack this time around. :grouphug: Bullies never respond to those lame lectures on bullying. There was a documentary on Cinemax a couple of years ago about young teens. One of the features was about a little boy who was completely ostracized by his peers when they went to middle school. He was suicidal because he couldn't figure out how to make them like him again. They had a "bully lecture" and of course some of the worst offenders were the ones piping up in class about how bullying is wrong and they would stick up for someone being bullied. I hope you and Abi can figure things out! The other features were about gay teens and how hard it is for them to be "out", how young teen girls are absolutely relentless in their pursuit of the boys and their really careless attitudes about sex, lots of truly terrifying stuff. DS seems so innocent. I don't know how we are going to face the issues that 6th grade will bring!

We'll face it together!! I thought Cassidy was an innocent going into Middle School...now I know Abi is...such a soft heart with less social skills than her sister.....we'll get them there and through in one piece!!

All 3 of my boys are outstanding. Nick helped take care of the kids this afternoon, kept offering to bring me anything and he cooked pizza for himself and his brothers :teeth: Then he layed in bed with me for about 20 minutes tonight just talking and asking questions about you guys. I had a page opened :lmao:

Hunter stood behind me before the concert started and kept rubbing my back. I think he thought that it was relieving the pain, but no such luck. It was a nice gesture though.

Your right you have 3 outstanding kiddos there!!

You and me both!! :teeth:

Night to all!!

Once again I come on and everybody leaves....and I know I showered this morning!!! :teeth:

Cassidy's concert was long and tedious....it was the 2 Jazz Bands, 2 Orchestras, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Quartet. Though they all played beautifully (for the most part) it was over 2 hours long. I also got into it with Jim on the way in to the concert....I am exhausted but not ready to go to sleep.

Good morning!

Jen - Good luck this morning meeting your teacher.

I hope you hit it off well.

Glynis - Have fun bowling. :wizard: that you get the first strike of the day!

Nicholas brought home his interim yesterday. He did fine in academics, however he needs improvement in "verbal control". Her comments were that he is a bit too social. Oh well, I can remember when I was in elem. school. I would get "talks too much" too.

In fact, some would say I still do! :rotfl: Like mother, like son!

Good morning, DDA!

I chose this graphic this morning because it is the first day of Hanukkah and I didn't find a menorah immediately. I will keep looking!

Here we go!
