Ausitn ISD is not getting out till Dec. 21 is their last day they are going back Jan 8.

I am glad we aren't out the whole first week of January. DS is out Dec. 16 - Jan. 2. Brother & Sister are out Dec. 23 - Jan. 8. Which will be kind of nice for me because I won't be juggling all 3 kids every day for nearly 3 weeks. I will only have 4 days with all 3 kids out of school. I can plan 4 days worth of stuff - no problem!

Glad to hear you won't have all the kids lots of days. They get alot of days off, around here they have December 22 to January 1st.

I have 10 to buy for, between teachers, aides, daycare providers, ballet and karate instructors, etc. so they are each getting a tin of chocolate covered biscotti. I hope they like it. :guilty:

If I bought for everyone there would be 5 or 6 for Abi and 10 for Cassidy and 1 that they share. Plus the 10 co workers I have to buy for

Abi's main teacher is getting a very cute pedicure set and a plate of goodies.
Her brass teacher is getting a plate of goodies...gotta reward a teacher who infuses my kid to want to play her baritone forever!! :teeth:

None of Cassidy's teachers are getting anything....mainly because I don't want to play favorites....she only likes 2 of them, I only like one of them!!

The piano teacher they share.....have to figure out what to get her...she is also a coworker so I get her a bigger gift. Need ideas please....espescially Miss Elin, please!!

I'm going to bed too. Goodnight!

Night!!

I come on and everybody leaves.....I promise I had a shower...sometime!! :teeth:

All heck broke loose at my office at 5:00 tonight...so I may not make it on tomorrow until I get home. I nearly cried at work, I love my work but right now I hate my coworkers.

Good Morning to my DDA family!!

Holy crap! (said in my best Frank Barone voice)

I heard that on the news today. So sad. I really liked liked him.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's exactly what DH said when I told him! So sad - he was such a great actor.

Hi, all!

Things are hectic, as we leave for WDW in about 12 hours! Things are just about packed, but I have a few errands I need to run in the morning, plus we're not sure if our maid is coming tomorrow, as we tried to reschedule her, and she wouldn't return our calls! :confused3 I'm definitely not leaving my burglar alarm off for our trip!

I've read everything, but don't remember much. :wizard: :grouphug: to all those feeling poorly for one reason or another. I will try to pop on tomorrow to say "goodbye" if I get the chance. If not, I will talk to you early next week, if I don't log in from SSR!

I'm a bit worried about the crowds, what with the party being sold out Friday night, but we're just going to go and enjoy the atmosphere, if nothing else. I am mighty worried about the 70% chance of showers on Friday (it rained on us at last year's MVMCP, too), so if you have any dry :wizard: to throw my way, please do so! I just want to make sure we get to see Holiday Wishes!

Thanks, Elizabeth. Airborne seems to be the easiest way to get zinc and all those other new-fangled metals into your system to nip the cold germs in their budding stages. Certainly tastes a heckuva lot better than anything else I have tried and less messy than Zicam!

I need some opinions.

I bought identical gifts for DS's 3 main classroom teachers. Each one is getting an anti-bacterial soap, gel, and lotion from Bath & Body and a $10 gift card to Target. One of the teachers has a teaching asst., and I bought her a $10 gift card for Target as well. I have a brand new hand soap and big tube of body cream on hand, so I thought I might give her one of those. DS really doesn't interact with her that much, so I don't want her gift to be as large as the other teachers. Do you think I should just give her the gift card, or should I add something else? If I add something should I add the hand soap or the body cream? :confused3
I think the addition of something physical would be a nice touch, Elizabeth. But, speaking as a teacher.... add the hand soap and not the body cream. I will use any hand cleansers/soaps that are given to me but almost never use body creams or scents. Luckily I have a friend who is in charge of nursing at a major hospital in Richmond and they put together gift baskets of things like this to give less fortunate patients who are being discharged. They get some pretty nice things from me!

In case any of you happened to hear that Satan requested a fur coat or saw pigs flying, it really did happen.!! The sky was filled with the oinkers flying all around. They did the V formation, a few musical notes, and the missing team member formation. This was all because..........................

MY DH FINALLY GOT A CELL PHONE!!! :rotfl:

When He asked me the other night, I almost fell off my chair.
When I told Stephanie, she almost fell over while walking :lmao:
I told my sister to really sit down before I told her.

Yes DH has finally come into the 21st century.
Life as we know it will never be the same :rotfl2:

I guarantee that they will. ::yes:: I am always amazed at the generosity of families this time of year. I NEVER expect gifts and am always delighted with the things that are presented to me. For me, it really IS the thought that counts!

If she is as busy as I am this time of year, baked goods are always nice. As would be a tin of chocolate covered biscotti... :rotfl: Or hand soap :rotfl:

I would say do NOT get her anything with a piano on it or music notes or treble clefs or... ;)

Does she have any hobbies outside of music? If so, I would think a gift that feeds that hobby would be greatly appreciated. I am always delighted by the families that take the time to get me something Disney-oriented. Disney Dollars have been wonderful gifts over the years. And, of course, I have a cupboard full of Disney mugs! But I actually remember who they came from.

If she is a gardener, a GC to a favorite shop would be nice, attached to a pair of gardening gloves. Things like that stand out in my mind. Hope it helps!

Lindsay - I hope you check in here before you leave. HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP and enjoy WDW at its holiday best. The rain won't dampen the beauty or the feelings you have while you are there. Enjoy yourself! :goodvibes

Also... when we are lucky enough to have a MVMCP to attend it is ALWAYS sold out as it is the last one of the season. We still enjoy it because it is less busy than the MK during the daytime during our trips.

Good morning, DDA!
2.gif

It is SO foggy here this morning. I am not looking forward to the drive to Richmond in about 45 minutes. But I cannot wait to get Kristin in the car and home for over a month!

And a week from today all 21 of my recitals will be over and we will be packing up the car to head on vacation. Life is good. :goodvibes

I will very likely not check back in here until late tonight. So, if you have been feeling poorly (Deb and Robyn for example) I hope you are doing better today. If you are leaving (Lindsay) have a great trip. If you are out driving in this fog be careful! Have great days, DDA!
