The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 13

I posted my last post at 12:40 a.m. At 1:00 I was calling 911. I had just gone from the kitchen into the living room when Bob went into the kitchen to let the dog out. I heard him say, "Elin... you are going to have to give me a hand. We have a problem." I went into the kitchen and the whole top of our stove was on fire. After trying to smother the fire with pot lids and having no luck, I ran into the laundry room and threw the breaker. I then called 911 and the fire dept. was here within 10 minutes. Damage to the stove is not too severe and the rest of the counter top is not bad either. But our house REEKS of smoke, even though they used their high powered fans to suck it out. I ate dinner out with friends tonight and Bob did not use the stove to cook his dinner. The fire marshall thinks it was probably a short in the burner.

Now, for some odd reason I am WIDE AWAKE and don't think I will sleep much tonight. Just had to come on here and "talk" to someone about it since Bob is as upset as I am.

I am off to get Sophie ready for Kindergarten now...my last baby is going to real school & I am .

Dana is taking me for lunch after we put her on the bus to cheer me up but I am going to miss having my baby around all day. She is a real "mommy's girl".

I am staying in bed today

I might have to get up to eat and go see my kids tonight but other than than - I am not moving!! My knee is very angry with me!!

My kids are at my mom's this week - which is a good thing except Nick has made the decision that I am not his mom anymore - my mom is - which is a little difficult - last night when I left you should have seen the panic in Julia's eyes when she asked "do I have to go with you?"

But that's okay b/c when Nick fell and got hurt last night it was still his mommy he ran to!!!!

I had to be hospitalized when Matthew was around 18 months old. Up to that point, I had done everything for/with him. He didn't want Michael to give him a bath, put him to bed, etc. They came to visit me at the hospital, and Matthew wanted nothing to do with me. Michael (the ever-practical one) said, "I know this is hurting you, but it's just his defense to make things easier for us." He was right! Once you are back to normal, I know that the kids will be all over you again. But it does hurt.

For those of you who may be wondering.....June was one of the ones I was asked to specifically pray for. I was asked to pray her home....so I did.
I so wanted to come on here and tell everybody about it, it was also one I was so hoping wouldn't happen. Though I know June is home and happy and healthy, it's not an experience I want to ever happen again.

Thank you for sharing that. I was wondering. That must have been so hard.

No, it's half day & she goes in the afternoon. She's all dressed in a white skirt outfit, lip gloss is on, hair done, & she is ready to go.

I didn't know that there were still half day kindergartens out there. Our district switched sometime in the 5 years between Laura and Miles. I fought tooth and nail against it, but it didn't do any good. It was so hard to send Miles to kindergarten for a full day, but I will admit that he loved school from the beginning. Matthew and Laura were both afternoon K.

Wouldn't it be neat if Disney would allow us to put a small flower pot beside Goofy. We could all bring 1 purple silk rose and leave with Goofy in honor of June.

If each of us placed a purple silk rose on June's bench every time we took a trip I reckon it would become a Disney legend... threads would pop up all over the DIS with people trying to find out why they appeared...like the wedding rings outside of Hanuted Mansion... I think June would get a kick out of that

I'll admit to that, too. As a matter of fact, I think I chose Tinkerbell instead of Tinker Bell, too. That's why I didn't post that I was a "Disney Elite", because I thought it would be "cheating".
