Good morning, DDA! Here are the "top ten" from our first MGM day (day #3).

The day dawned a bit too early for some of the group. "Why do we have to get up early just to wait in line for the park to open?":

There is no stopping us! We're headed for TOT and RnR!

Obligatory RnR shot...though I seem to have lost a couple members of my party:

Good morning DDA!

We had a very nice, relaxing weekend in Kentucky. I am so glad we went, my boys just love it there. My cousin is out of the hospital & can walk with a cane. Her left arm is still paralizied, but we all have faith that she will get the use of her arm back. She has lost alot of weight, but considering what she is going through, I thought she looked pretty good. Her motor skills are still slow & she has to have her dh remind her what she is suppose to be doing. Her whole life has been changed, but she is strong & I know she will pull through this.

I came home with a nice head cold  Hope everyone else is doing fine.

How is June & Caroline?

Hope to try & get caught up!

I found my Miyuki photos. The candy has a consistency of taffy or modeling clay while she works with it. It quickly hardens to a hard candy.

Miles and Laura waiting for the show to begin. This was the day that we were waiting by ourselves until just before show time. It was drizzling, and it was her first show of the day. The World Showcase was practically empty that morning.

If I plan it right I could get a personal milestone too!!

You are getting close to my post count on the thread. You are way ahead on overall count. I remember someone teasing me about being chatty. Now who's chatty? :lmao:

I  mine too. Thanks again Kate!!!!! I'm trying to do something with Pal Mickey's pictures in a t-shirt design but haven't gotten very far yet. I better get moving since our trip is in less than 3 months.

Good to hear!! I've got to send out my secret pal package this week and my theme for this month is back to school.....I'll go by and see if they have notebooks or a journal.

Who do you do Secret Pals with? I was wondering if the DDA would want to do secret pals? My female cousins and I used to exchange names every year and announce it at the Christmas party. My dad had 12 brothers & sisters and my mother had 8 so I have LOTS of cousins!!!!

My turn for enabling:

Target has the Disney Mix Stick's for $39 and disneyshopping has a POTC Mix stick. These are really good for the younger kids.

What's a mix stick? I guess I'll have to do some research on the web. You guys are definitely enablers!!!!

I'm here. I just had to tuck in the kids and read to them. Katie and I finished the witch of blackbird pond, and started a wrinkle in time tonight. I'd forgotten just how much I like that book.

Jacob and I are close to finishing Peter and the Starcatchers. He's really enjoying that book, and now wants to be Black Stache for Halloween. That could be cute!

Becky & I loved Peter & the Starcatchers. We have ordered the next in the series - Peter & the Shadow Chasers. I can't wait until it arrives so that I can start reading. I have started reading my Harry Potter Book 5 over again in the mean time.

There are other threads?!?! :earseek:

Ok, I'm really going now......

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I try to keep up with other threads but haven't had time in trying to catch up on this one with all our camping trips.

My baby is off to school for her first day of her last year in high school! :sad2: She was really excited. She has always loved school both for the social and learning aspect. I did something right with that one. Most of her friends took a light schedule since it is their senior year. She has decided to take French and Psychology as well as regular English and Math and 2 more classes. They haven't let her take a foreign language or regular English class because of her learning comprehension problems. They have decided that she is probably ready for regular English this year instead of the special class that they set up for those with learning disabilities. I think she harrassed them into letting her try French. She has been wanting to for years now.

I took some time to catch-up:

June -- I'm praying for you each time I pray for mom. Also for your family and doctors. We know you can beat this!

Caroline (Dawn and family) -- prayers for you, sweet angel.

Kate -- hope you knee is feeling better. Also hope Nick's first official day of school goes well.

Lynn -- prayers for your older son and his wife. I hope they do counseling and it is successful. Prayers for you for strength.

Tammi -- I hope Nicholas has a great first day of first grade!

Denise -- good luck on your first day. I loved the pictures of your room. It is so bright and very creative. The kids in your class are so lucky to have you as their teacher. Congrats to Davis on his latest tooth loss! I'm also very impressed with the weight loss for you and John. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Kristine -- congrats to you and Bill. Loved seeing your pictures as well. Congrats to Kirsten on her tooth loss!

I have this magnet one of my filing cabinet's at work: "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I'm not thin yet, but I have to say that it does feel good and I have so much more energy. I'm a stress eater, though, so these past few weeks have been hard. The first week I ate everything I shouldn't have, the second and third weeks I was more careful, and this past week I can't seem to keep anything in for long -- Zantac has been a good friend.

Bernadette -- hope you feel better soon! I'm sorry to hear about your mom. That's my fear with my mom -- I know it's just the drugs now, but hearing her say she would rather die just breaks my heart. I'm going to have to adopt tough love sometime in the near future, but I'm scared that won't even work.

Janet -- I'm glad to hear your cousin is making progress. I'm keeping her, you and the rest of your family in my prayers. Hope the headcold is better today.

Jo -- glad you and Ramiro are settling in. Hope you had fun at Disney. You know you are diehard when you are willing to ride the bus for that long for a day trip!

Deb -- good luck on WW. I like their two point/one point bars. You should try some if you have a sweet tooth.

Tia -- glad Phil made it safe and sound!

Beth, Anne Marie and Bernadette -- great vacation pics! Keep them coming.

Congrats to Glynis on 97 lbs and Elin on 62. I would encourage everyone that needs to shed some pounds to DO IT NOW. My mom's surgery is so much more complicated because she is overweight.

Karen -- more prayers for your grandmother and family. Also to all your friends and their families. That is a lot of sorrow you've all been going through. Please take care of yourself!

Lindsay -- your PM meant so much. Thanks for the offer, but we're holding our own for now. I do still want to meet for lunch some time!

Paula -- glad your DH is home. It's been a while since we've seen new pictures of those cute girls...hint...hint...

To everyone I've missed -- Here's some :sunny: for a great week!

Thanks!!! I am definitely going to need the strength. David and I are not getting along now. I feel I can get thru any crisis as long as I have David by my side. He is taking whatever anger he has on his older son (Sam) out on Austin and Alex. I finally gave him a piece of mind and told him to leave my boys alone. I have never separated Sam and Melissa as seperate children from Austin and Alex. But they are 26 and 29!!!! Let them live their own lives and stop trying to bail them out!!! I am tired of trying to fix their lives when I have two boys (8 and 12) that I am still trying to raise. I know they have been thru alot. I feel like the mistakes I made with them I am not going to make with Austin and Alex. After all I was only 21 when I became their step-mom. I still had growing up on my own to do. Now they are older, married and have their own children. They still can't handle their own lives!!!

O.K..........I have vented and feel a little better. Thanks guys for listening.

Lynn

I used the numbers trick to buy some more Zizzlingers today, but some of the imprinted codes definitely ended with numbers other than 1 and 2. Any insight on that?

And I'm showing some amazing self-control right now...all three packages we bought today are in the cupboard. I'm saving them for the days that Alyssa is really trying my patience. :teeth:

So, have you had to open any yet? :lmao: I can't imagine such a sweet little girl like Alyssa trying your patience. :rotfl:

Morning, all. No way to read all those pages, so if someone would post a synopsis, I would appreciate it. Today is the first full day of school. I have a feeling I'm going to spend the day consoling crying children. Have a good one.

Have a good first day!
