I had to have my gallbladder tested before my GB surgery. If it looked bad, they would have just removed it then. Unfortunately for me, my gallbladder looked just fine. I would have liked to have it taken out, but no such luck!

For me to go to the ER took A LOT of pain, especially since the first time it was Christmas night. They told me about 14 years earlier that I had small stones but that they wouldn't do anything if it wasn't causing me trouble. I had one attack a couple of years after that, but I didn't know that is what it was at the time. It was horrible! Then I had another on December 10, 2004, but I am stubborn and wasn't planning to have it checked until at least after Christmas. On Christmas, besides the pain, it took my dh begging me to go in. They released me after controlling the pain with an order to schedule an ultrasound and a prescription for Vicodin. I called the next day, and they couldn't get me in until the beginning of January. I had no problems (but I was eating VERY carefully). I had the ultrasound on a Monday. On that Friday, I started feeling bad again. I called my primary care Friday afternoon, but I never heard back. I was pretty much in and out of it from the pain all day on Saturday, and started popping the Vicodin on Sunday (I'm really stubborn about taking meds, too  ), but it didn't do much for me. On Sunday, I called into the doctor's office. The doctor on call was able to see the ultrasound results from the computer and told me to head to the ER. They again released me after controlling the pain and told me that I could take the Vicodin more often. He also talked to a surgeon who said that he would see me the following day if I called into the office. Well, I called in, and that surgeon wasn't even seeing patients that day. Fortunately my primary care office was able to get me into see a different surgeon in the same group that afternoon. I thought I was going to die at this point and was practically ready to go after my gallbladder myself. Thank goodness I hadn't eaten all day, because they were able to schedule me in for almost immediate surgery. He was able to remove it lap, though if it had been much more inflamed, it would have been open surgery. Life was much better after that! I had several very large stones. One was the size of one of the quarter gumballs. I probably haven't learned my lesson, though, because I can see myself being just as stubborn and resistant to seeing the doctor.

Can someone tell me if you can see the girls' picture in my signature. My name is showing for me but not the picture and they are both there when I go into the User CP.

I see it!

We are already doing O'hana's w/ Lilo and Stitch on the 4th for breakfast. I have done Chef Mickey before but we aren't on this trip. I have never done Whispering Canyon.

My 1st vote would be Whispering Canyon and then Chef Mickey's. Early dinner on the 5th will be fine with us. We are expecting to leave MK on that day after the 3pm parade so anytime after 4pm would be good. It will just be my husband and 2 boys. (ages 9 and 11) Most places prefer 1st seating reservations for large parties so that would probably work best.

Lynn

Sounds good to me! Of course, anything at WDW sounds good to me!

Sounds like everyone wants to do Whispering Canyon Cafe - except Miss Julia - she wants to ride the monorail to dinner :teeth: but she wants to eat at WCC  I guess we will ride the monorail to the contemporary and then head over to WCC - ;)

Who is in

Glynis - 2
Lynne - 4
Kate - 4
Ellen??
Jennifer - ?

who else will be there????

so since this morning - we decided to stay at Saratoga Springs - actually - they have availability and didn't two weeks ago - so I am going to call and book it

I think an early dinner on the 5th will work best - and we are currently planning on getting the dining plan and not renting a car - so our preference would be on property - what about Whispering Canyon Cafe or Ohana's or Chef Mickey's or does anyone else have any other resort ideas?!?!

Janet - if you tell me where you will be on the 4th - maybe I could plan my day at the same park - maybe we will have breakfast with you at Donald's - we have never eaten there!!!

An early dinner on the 5th works great for us. Any of your restaurant picks would be fine, we'll go with the majority.

I should have read further, Whispering Canyon is my first choice too, so that works out great. There will be 4 of us, all adults.

Boy am I glad I got home from my hour long walk when I did. It is raining cats and dogs, but they are sideways. Actually it is thunderstorming, raining sideways, hailing marble sized hail and windy.

Had I left for my walk a half an hour later I would be out there walking in this, as the path I walked has no shelter near it. Thank heavens I left work when I did and walked right away before I came home.

Sending :wizard: , prayers and :grouphug: to everyone who needs them.

We don't fly in until the afternoon on the 4th, but we could probably do dinner on the 4th, or lunch or dinner on the 5th. But you're right, if we do dinner on the 5th, it should probably be an early one.

Let me know once you get your dates set, and find out what everyone else wants to do.

It sounds like fun! Now if only I could get my butt in gear to start walking more again!

Maybe all this talk will be what it takes to motivate me, but of course this week my excuse is that DH and I won't be home at the same time to walk together. Starting tomorrow I suppose I could walk by myself in the morning since I don't leave for work until 2:30pm.

Somebody give me a kick in the rear!!!

Ellen

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I hope this guy is kicking high enough to kick you in the rear. :teeth:

Nice to see you Ellen. :wave2:

Congratulations to your son on his graduation.

There's one in Allentown, and I still haven't gotten there to try it.
Meet you there tomorrow night. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I know it won't happen, as I have to work till 4:30pm. I just realized that I have a training tomorrow night in Allentown from 6pm to 9pm. I knew about it but forgot, it came up so suddenly, I can't believe July is over half gone.

Perhaps sometime we will have to get together though as I am about an hour from Allentown give or take depending on traffic. But I know you are still a distance from Allentown.

We are about 25 miles North of Allentown.

I only know of the one in the Leigh Valley Mall. Fridays is my sisters day off from work so we could be there at any time. Or Sat for an early lunch, though every other Sat. DH works.

I sent my son an email telling him about the weekend and the Duck Tour, and attached the photo of all of us in front of the Duck vehicle. This is his copied and pasted response:

Sure sounds like you enjoyed it! Is that the only picture you took? I have no trouble picturing you riding through washington quacking like a duck....

What could he be trying to say? :rolleyes1

Maybe that you fit right in with the rest of us ducks... Come on in! The water's fine!
