Chris and I took Nick and Hunter to see POC Dead Man's Chest today. The movie was pretty good, though much scarier than the first. Nick was absolute fine with it (he's almost 11), but Hunter covered his eyes a few times (he's 8). Overall they both liked it and I don't think they'll have nightmares or anything from it. Apparently Hunter had read a book about it (Disney Adventure's Magazine I think) and he kept telling me what was going to happen which was annoying for me, but helpful for him. I don't want to spoil anything, but was very disappointed with the ending. When you actually see the movie you will understand.

My family has planned a birthday party for me for tomorrow and today I asked what they've done for it......ummmmm nothing. What are we having....not sure. What are we eating on.....don't know. So I have been spending the night biting my tongue and going with the flow.....not working so well. :rotfl:

I keep reminding myself it's the thought that counts!!

Vicki-

got your package today. The bear is so cute.....it doesn't mean you aren't addicted!!!

Thanks!!!

I just got an email from Lynn. She said she really needs prayers for her family. She did not give me any specifics, but did say there was MAJOR turmoil in her immediate family and that's why she hasn't posted lately.

She also wanted me to pass on congrats to Amy and Kevin.

Thanks for letting us know, Denise. Please tell her that we are praying if you talk to her again. :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug:

So I helped my neighbor cater another wedding reception today. It was under a tent in the bride and groom's back yard. The theme was basically around the world. Instead of a number each table was given a state or country of a place they had visited. They had favorite beers from various places they have visited and they had a specialty mixed drink from Georgia. As a favor each person recieved a small scrapbook of there favorite recipes from travels around the world.

Their wedding cake traveled around the world to get there. It came from Washington state to PA. It was shipped in a huge box with glass windows. On every side it said this is a cake. The cake was made by Mike's Amazing Cakes . It was banana with Kahlua creme. I had to check out the website to see what other awesome cakes they have made.

Here is a picture of their wedding cake

Hello EVERYONE! :wave2: Thanks for all the Hello's out there!

Life has been hectic. I have been back to work, and working overtime almost every week since. Whew! I do try to get on here and see what everyone has been up to every now and then.

Glynis, your birthday party sounds like it will be so much fun! Leighanna loves icecream, so I might have to remember that idea for when she is a little older.

I will try to post a little more often. :thumbsup2

I have to try to plan our next vacation to the World.

I have always wanted to go to Disneyland too, so I might have to ask some of you experts lots of questions on that too.

I'm planning on taking lots of pictures, so I'll post them. I think it will be fun, a great thing for a hot July weekend!

As for DL, you should definitely go!!!! Ask any questions that you want! We're here to help (the few of us who frequent DL, that is). By the way, we are planning a DDA meet in DL in September of 2007 if you're interested! We can get you details if you want!

Hey everyone-
I ended up finally going to the hospital to see Alex today--He looked so good!! he was completely awake and even had baseball turned on the tv in his room. When we walked in, he took our hands right away. Dad said "i brought jen the other day and you were sleeping"--he mouthed "sorry"--I went over to hold his hand and he smiled an ACTUAL SMILE! His swelling is going down and he seems to be improving every time i see him. I overheard a relative saying that they may try to remove the tube from his trachea in the next week or so..WHen that happens, he will be able to talk to communicate! I cannot wait to see this!

Thanks so much for the prayers, thoughts, and PMs about Alex..He is a fighter and is continuing to amaze us every day!

That is great news, Jen! It sounds like he is progressing wonderfully well. I am so happy for Alex and all of you. Thanks for the update!

That's a good idea. Actually, for the winners of the games, I'm giving them a cookie cutter in the shape of an ice cream cone, with a tube of cookie dough to go along with it. Is that cheesy?

I love it!!! Very cute idea.

Well, after our late night last night, I'm off to bed early tonight! I'm reading "The Memory Keepers Daughter" and it is a wonderful read. Hopefully I won't fall asleep while reading tonight.

I'll check in with you tomorrow, when I hope to see some pictures of Matthew gracing our thread! Hint, hint, Kevin and Amy!

Good night, all!

Welcome home, Amy and Matthew!!! How nice to be home with your own bed and surrounded by family and the peace of your new home. Can't wait to see pictures!!! Have a wonderful night's sleep.

Well, it's been a long day and I'm off to bed. Terra and I spent the day at a Watermelon Festival hosted by Life is Good. It was a fundraiser for a great non-profit. We played yard games, listened to bands and of course ate watermelon. We also went on a cow hunt trying to find some of the 117 Cow Parade cows around town. I think we got about 15 today so there are plenty to go. So guess what our mission is before we move...

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I've got to start sorting and packing since it looks like we're moving in about 5 weeks.

Nite all!!

I got a PM from Angela.

Good Morning DDA,

Congratulations Amy, can't wait to see pictures!

DH's foot is getting better, but Vicki I feel your pain with Chuck, he is driving me CRAZY!!! I do sympathize with his pain, but I asked him if we could just talk about something else for 10 minutes. ( I know that makes me sound horrible)

I'ts off to work again for me,

Hope everyone has a great day,

Debbie

Just catching up Yesterday I went to my sister's best friends Bridal Shower. There were 15 of us and the Bride's mom held it at a local restaurant. It was a lot of fun. The Bride and Groom are flying to Key West next Monday and getting married on the beach at sunset. Just the 2 of them. How romantic. Neither of them like being the center of attention so this is perfect for them. They hired a photogher and videographer so everyone can see the ceremony when they return. They are having a small reception in September. Then we went out to dinner with Eric's family. Oy vey! They drive me nuts. His parents were arguing just about the whole time. And I swear his sister lives in an alternate universe. She made this comment when we were about to leave that their branch of the family is really close with one another. Umm, you don't call your brother at all. And the best thing is that her husband and her really don't talk to anyone but themselves. She can never say Hi or even just thank you when she sees me or they come over for dinner. Can't wait to the 23rd, that is when she leaves for England!

Amy & Kevin, Congrats!! So glad that Matthew arrived safely and quickly. Can't wait to see pictures. And what a great thing to be home so early. There is something to be said for sleeping in your own bed. We could have went home the next morning after Molly but there was a monsoon and opted to stay. Big mistake!

Lynn, Here's some :wizard: and :grouphug: for what ever it is that you are dealing with.

Theresa, I hope you have a great birthday party! Did you get your id issue squared away. I had a dream Friday night that I had to come pick you up in Cleveland!

Kate, Is the knee feeling any better. I am thinking about you and Nick and praying for good results.

Jen, So glad to hear that Alex is progressing well! Here's for a great blind date tonight.

Vicki, Here is some :wizard: for Katrina. Like many have said I still don't know what I want to do. I envy those that know so young but I can say that there is a lot that I know I don't want to do! Love the Jeeps!

Glynis, That sounds like a wonderful birthday for Katie. I love Ice Cream Socials, maybe because I love ice cream sooo much.

Chanon :dance3: on 1,000! :dance3:

Tia, Wow I didn't realize that you'd be moved so quickly. :Pinkbounc I'm soo happy for you. How is Phil doing? Love the Cow hunt, we have Crabs in Baltimore so that sounds like a fun thing to do.

Tom, Good to see you around! Chat more often!

Becky, You are a smart woman. And it seems like you know the direction you want to take so I am sure that if you keep that in mind it will all fall into place! You amaze me. Great things are waiting for you!

Tammi, I think about you alot and the kids. Love the idea of moving to Florida. Here's :wizard: that you get to have that dream realized!

Kristine, How is Bill doing? I love the butterflies! Your kiddos are so adorable.

June, Congrats on the raise, bonus and xtra vacation time. :cool1:

Christi, I am sure I missed you but have fun on your vacation!

Paula, I am so excited for you about DVC. What a great husband you have! Are you feeling better? How did the test go?

Lindsay, Good to see you around more.

Kelli, I think it is funny that you don't get the Peanut butter. When we go to Friendly's I get the Reese's Pieces sundae with no hot fudge! Extra PB please!

Heidi, I am so happy that you mom is home. Here's :wizard: for continued improvement! I love the doorbell story.

Again, this is from memory. I never take notes and keep kicking myself for not doing it! Here is :wizard: :grouphug: and :cheer2: :cheer2: for all. I am caught up on the thread now, I now just need to get my house in order! Like that will ever happen!!

Debbie, Glad to hear that you DH's foot is feeling better! It amazes me how men can drag out even the simplest of colds and make them into national headlines. I can't imagine anything worse and having to deal with it on a regular basis. Here's some :wizard: that he doesn't drive you completely nuts!

Sounds like you & Terra had a good time! Good luck with the packing, that is always so much fun :teeth:
