He's doing OK, thanks for asking. We have been following the diabetic diet...he has lost 9 lbs..I have lost 7. Some days are harder than other...we go to the specialist on Tuesday, so I guess we'll know more then.

My family has planned a birthday party for me for tomorrow and today I asked what they've done for it......ummmmm nothing. What are we having....not sure. What are we eating on.....don't know. So I have been spending the night biting my tongue and going with the flow.....not working so well. :rotfl:

I keep reminding myself it's the thought that counts!!

Maybe they're trying to surprise you, and you keep asking questions!!!

Well, it's been a long day and I'm off to bed. Terra and I spent the day at a Watermelon Festival hosted by Life is Good. It was a fundraiser for a great non-profit. We played yard games, listened to bands and of course ate watermelon. We also went on a cow hunt trying to find some of the 117 Cow Parade cows around town. I think we got about 15 today so there are plenty to go. So guess what our mission is before we move...

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I've got to start sorting and packing since it looks like we're moving in about 5 weeks.

Nite all!!

Wow! 5 weeks! It seems like everything just fell into place for you! Congratulations! I'll pray for a simple, uncomplicated move for you! You'll have to update us as best you can on how things are going!

Morning all.
Not much goin' on around here.
We do have tickets to see POC @ 2:55 P.M.
pirate: can't wait.

Just so you all know, she has about 40 days to go.

Thanks for this! I've been wondering how Angela was doing! I'll keep her in my prayers!

I just finished The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was excellent!

Beth

I'm loving it!!!! I should be able to finish it today. I hope so, because I went to the library yesterday, and they had a book on hold for me. Any guesses?

THE KINGDOM KEEPERS! After listening to all of you talk about it, I just had to read it. Hopefully I'll get to start today.

I read Kingdom Keepers just before Memory Keeper's Daughter. I had put them on hold at the library and they both came in at once. Kingdom Keepers is a very quick read. For the moment I don't have a book! I'm not sure that has happened before. I am trying to get a lot done around the house, because I am tired of living in chaos. I did locate our copy of Peter and the Starcatchers to start later.

As a matter of fact...I need to get back to cleaning now.

I have a sewing question. I asked this on the CB, but thought I'd ask here too.

Does anyone know the easiest way to make rod pocket window panels? They will be lined, and I was thinking one of two ways:

1. Sew the 2 pieces across the top and sides leaving an opening for the rod. Sew across to make the part that stands up above the rod (would also be the top of the rod pocket) , then across again to make the bottom part for the rod to slip through. I would have to hand stitch the edges on the part I left open, I guess.

Or

2. Sew across the top and sides. Then fold back about 4-6 inches at the top. Sew across to make the top of the rod pocket and the part that stands above it, then sew across again to make the bottom of the rod pocket. A valance I have is done this way but it's not lined and it seems to use a good bit of extra fabric.

I hope this isn't too confusing...

Any other ideas?

I just finished The Kingdom Keepers and thought it was cute. I would have had it read alot faster had I not falling asleep with in 10 minutes of me going to bed to read. No matter what I'm reading I always fall asleep if I read in bed. I love that everyone is suggesting books, it gives me some great ideas.

Dawn -

I make mine the first way! I leave the opening for turning it inside out where I will sew the rod and then stitch across there - then there is no need to hand stitch -

I am getting ready to make cars curtains for Nick's room! If that doens't make sense - i can take pictures of the ones I made for you!

His regular doctor sent it to him when his test results came back so poorly....I am sure I can get more copies from the specialist on Tuesday..I'll grab you one.

It makes sense but I still want to see the pictures!

If I'm able to sew the window treatments today (and I plan to) I'll be finished with the nursery!!!! :Pinkbounc
