The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

Friday was going to be a very busy day. The Governor was going to visit so we were making sure things looked good. When Thomas heard we were to wear our Lancaster Rec shirts, he wanted one too. Somehow I could not get it together and did something wrong trying to iron on a transfer. :rotfl: So I told him that we would just use a letterhead and fake it. He was okay with that.

They were still deciding on whether to keep the walkway open or closed. This went on all day. First it was yes it is closed then no wait, not yet, then they did barricade it. Two different times one of the ladies tried to cross the barricade. One turned around but the other one got through turning the barricade over :rotfl:
Thomas saw the big media truck and decided he wanted to just stay upstairs and help hold down the fort.

This is the sign that the Seniors see every day. Thomas needed his picture with it.

Marisol came in and had her puppy, so Thomas had to say hi.

Hey chatty, CHATTY ladies!

We've been painting all day, but I just wanted to let you know I heard from Amy (although I see Kevin has posted also).

She said everyone is doing really well. The hospital is packed -- she has a roommate, people are looking for open beds, etc. Since everything went well overall, this is why they are letting her go at 24 hours. They will be discharged between 10:00pm (so now) and midnight, so - as Amy put it - she gets to sleep in her own bed tonight! Although, from what I hear about babies.... ;)

Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know. She said it has been hectic there, but he is beautiful, has passed his hearing test, and everything is going really well! Matthew will be in his new home soon! :goodvibes

Craig always makes fun of me because I get a Peanut-less PB Parfait. LOL So basically it's a huge hot fudge sundae! LOL

Oh, man! Now I'm hungry. Good thing I just went to the store to pick up ice cream for our family celebration tomorrow! I picked up some sugar free ice cream for me: Peanut Butter Fudge. I may have to have some tonight!

Don't forget cookies for ice cream cookie sandwiches!

That's a good idea. Actually, for the winners of the games, I'm giving them a cookie cutter in the shape of an ice cream cone, with a tube of cookie dough to go along with it. Is that cheesy?

Thanks for the update! I've been wondering how you were doing. Haven't seen you around much lately. I figured between the new house, new job, and Kyle's stuff, you'd be one busy lady! Guess I was right. I can't wait to see pictures of the house as you get it put together!

9 and 10. I know that they will use them, as most of them know how to cook. They like to come over to my house and experiment. I "attempt" to teach them how to bake, etc., and their parents love it (mostly because it's my house that looks like a wreck afterwards, and not theirs). I used to 4H when I was Katie's age, so I guess I'm just passing that along. We just do it in an unstructured, unorganized way!

Thanks. I was just so grateful that Katie decided on an ice cream social instead of the Harry Potter theme she wanted earlier. She loves HP, but most of her other friends have not read the books or seen the movies, so it would be kind of a bust for them.

Perfect idea! Oh...and I thought of another idea: Root Beer! YUM! So at the rate you're going with us enabling you to do more...you'll have 24 stations! :rotfl:

I just had some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. :teeth: YUM!
