The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

I bet you didn't expect to see me post this morning!

The hospital called at 6:10 a.m. to say they currently have no beds. They were very apologetic, and they asked that we call and check the status at 10 a.m.

Of course, Kevin and I were ten minutes from walking out the door, so we're wide-awake. I'm grateful that we don't have to sit around the waiting room, but I'm jealous that my mom and Alyssa are still sleeping.

I told Kevin we should have gone to see the midnight showing of Pirates!!! I FORBID any of you to brag about having a date with Captain Jack until I finally get to see it! (you hear that Dawn?!!)

Thank you so much for all your well wishes and prayers. I still vow I will get caught up on the thread. Hopefully I won't be back at 10 a.m. to post about another delay!

How frustrating, that they have a bed soon and that Little Matthew makes a quick and healthy arrival.

As for Captain Jack my DD came storming into the room the day after we got back, she said they were showing the Preview of the POC after the makeover, and the first person to ride it was none other than Johnny Dep. This was June 26th, and we were in EPCOT while he was in the MK, she was extrememly disappointed!

I'm up way past my bedtime, but I had to catch up, and also I have to tell you all about my annual evaluation. I had the evaluation last Friday morning, and then went away for the weekend, so I didn't think about posting until tonight. I got a raise, I got my THREE WEEKS vacation, and I got a BONUS. I guess the bonus enabled me to go a little bananas with the Pal Mickey wardrobe tonight! Melanie went with me, and she was laughing about it the whole evening (I think WITH me, not AT me). The co-worker's mom says we are all nuts (me, Danielle, and the Mom), but we are having a lot of fun. Danielle said that this is going to be the best Disney trip they've ever had because of me (and that's because of all of you). They wouldn't have even had free dining if I hadn't let them know about it and then pushed them to try and get it, and I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for the Disboard. The Mom has never even heard of Pal Mickey, and now she's excited because mine is coming to visit and is going with them to the world. I did a t-shirt desgn for them for MNSSHP and they just love it - see all of this is spreading because fo the Dis and especially the DDA. Isn't it great how we spread the pixie dust?

Congratulations June! I'm sure it was well deserved!

It is wonderful when we can spread the pixie dust! I hope your friends have a magical trip!

I don't know if y'all remember me from way back when the whole design frenzy started, but I'm Kaylyn. I kind of went off designing for a while, and stopped going on the DIS as well...Now I'm back onto it and I remember the good old DDA...So, of course, I go to find the old thread...not there. After searching around the boards, I finally found the designers! They gave you an entire forum?! Way to go, DDA! Anyways. Just wanted to drop in, say hello.

I wasn't around in the early days but wanted to say welcome back! I look forward to getting to know another of the early members.

I'm sorry about the delay but also agree sitting around at home is better than sitting at the hospital. Keep us posted. You are all in our thoughts and prayers for an easy delivery!!! Matthew, hear that! Vicki

Walk, drink cranberry juice, and especially since everyone else is still sleeping, I hear ODTT works for getting labor started! Good thoughts coming your way today!

Welcome back! The DDA has taken on a life of it's own as you see. Hope you'll jump back in with us and the craziness that abounds.

I do have some ideas about Hawaiian parties. How about making cookie leis? You make flower shaped cookies, and string them once they are decorated. Make chicken salad and serve it in hollowed out pineapple halves, kabobs are also a good party food with teriyaki chicken or beef.

I know I've got some other ideas, let me do some thinking and I'll get back to you on this tomorrow! This could be really fun!

Aw man! And to have to lose sleep over it too. Don't they know that your day is going to be long enough as it is. Well, at least we get to see you one last time! that there is room at 10 and that there will be a happy, bouncing little boy with us soon!

I agree!! As much as I love WDW and would love to be there for my birthday, no way will I be there in July!!

No July bashing!! We will be spending about 4 weeks in WDW over the next to July's. We've done July before and actually don't find it any different than the weather we get here in July. It's hot, but it is still a trip to WDW and I love it.

Deb -- for VBS we had a tropical theme this year. One of the games we had was to play volleyball with a beachball using a badminton net. It worked great for the older kids! We also had a relay race. We had goggles, a beach visor, arm floaties, a beach ball and a blow up ring. We put the kids in two lines and they had to put on each item, run to a pylon and around it and back, then the next person had to put it all on etc. (We also did the limbo and they loved it!)

Sounds like you are going to have a fantastic party for your boys. Do they realize how lucky they are to have such a creative mom?

No July bashing!! We will be spending about 4 weeks in WDW over the next to July's. We've done July before and actually don't find it any different than the weather we get here in July. It's hot, but it is still a trip to WDW and I love it.

We feel the same way. While it would be nice to go in cooler months, we have to wait until sports/summer school is over. The up side -- it's not any hotter than Texas and it gives us an excuse to eat at mostly table service restaurants! Plus, I normally get to celebrate my birthday in my happy place!

Also thank for backing me up on the July vacations. Maybe we need to start our own DDA Hot Summer Fun support group. We would definately rather go during cooler, less busy months, but since we like to go for longer vacations we cannot pull the kids out of school. So it is summer vacations for us for a while.
