I am so very happy for you!!!!

Don't be jealous! I had to commit to doing a half marathon in order for it to happen! That and turn 40!

That is fabulous news, Denise. Congrats!

I need lots of info, Marci. When to book excursions, best dining rotation, better to eat early/late, Palos (which night is best), etc.

and I hope your kitty is ok!

Yup, it's real now! Before I was always sure that there would be something come up that would make Alan say No! However, now that the marathon fees are paid, the flights paid for, and the place to stay worked out, I know that he will not back out! Get this, now he thinks we'll have time for Sea World, USF and the space stuff, too. How do I get this guy to think in reality!

Marci - I hope your kitty is doing ok!
Glynis - Congrats on booking the marathon! I heard that it's starting to REALLY fill up now!

The house is a mess -

I go into let's have fun mode the first day!!

I will have to get ready to go to DC tomorrow

So far so good - although Julia called him crying that he should not have left her!

That's how I am when Alan leaves. The first day we play and then order pizza and rent movies. After that we're back to same old, same old!

OH SNAP!!!!

I am getting the lights in my eyes I get with migraines -

I get migraines once in a blue moon - like once a year - why am I getting one now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yippee, Glynis! Sounds awesome! You'll do great at the half. And look fabulous to boot.

Thanks for the confidence boost! I'm just hoping to finish without being swept! Actually, truth be told, I don't really care about that! Just being in WDW is a wish come true for me!

I'm thrilled that my SIL is coming with us! She loves DL and we go together sometimes when neither her husband nor mine want to go. Hopefully we can work out a similar arrangement with WDW.

The news on Jessie is bittersweet. She seems to be stable and is sedated for pain. She only has one break, but it's in a very bad area so the word lame came up. At that point I think I panicked. They are letting her "chill", as they put it and rehydrating her, since she layed in the yard for a while before I heard her (and we had 105 heat index today). They are going to set it and splint it in the morning and see how she does. There isn't enough bone left by the break (part of it was shaved off) to pin it.

She will have to be an indoor cat for the next 6 - 8 weeks, if not for the rest of her life. I asked if she would ever be able to walk, and they said they hope she will. This is about to bring major changes to my family. I've never had an indoor cat, as I'm terribly allergic (and I think both boys are as well) and my DH and I both work full time out of the house, although I occasionally work from home. I guess I'm going to work from home for a few days, take my mom up on her offer to help, and possibly take Jessie to work with me.

Even though I know it was an accident, I'm having a hard time with it.

Thanks, everyone, for your good thoughts and prayers. It means a lot!

I'll be sending you my books and lots of info very soon. You should join the thread on the cruise meets board for your sailing -- you'll get lots of info from there, and be able to hear lots of different opinions. The groups that usually cruise over Thanksgiving and Christmas seem to be very talkative, with lots of DISers, so you should learn a lot. I'm thrilled for you!

I had heard that it would fill up quite fast, so we signed up on the first day available! I was a bit hesitant to do that, but figured it would give me time to really work on my strength, etc. It's worked, so far, and I'm having a great time exploring parts of my town on foot that I haven't ever done before.

Okay -

again - at the risk of being shunned.....

I am really irritated with the POTC toys at McDonalds

they are cute and my kids love them - so what is the problem?

They want to see the movie now

Why would they make these toys marketed at kids who are too young for the movie?!?!?!?!?

I actually thought this earlier when i heard they were having POTC toys there...glad its not just me!

Kate -- It's probably a sign that you need to slow down after a few weeks of very stressful/busy things. (Just not at a convenient time when you are getting ready for your trip and "being a single parent" when Steve is away. Get those cute kids to bed and take some meds. Hope you feel better very soon!

Immediately get off the computer, take the strongest headache medication you have and shut yourself into a darkened room. I know this is hard to do. Do you have someone that could take the kids for a couple of hours?

I get migraines frequently, and this is the only thing that works for me. I have to have silence and dark for the medication to work!

Good luck! Wish I could help more!

:grouphug: Marci and :cat: :grouphug: Stock up on vaccuum cleaner bags, litter that isn't very dusty, and I'm praying for the best. I have 3 cats myself and they are my babies so I know how you're feeling.
