Sorry to hear you haven't gotten those 15 lbs off that you want, but you sound like you have a great attitude about it. Good luck!
I know how hard it is to lose that weight. With kids I think it's even worse because theres always their snacks around. My only saving grace is that I don't really like some of the things they like to snack on so that helps. I hope you are able to reach your goal by Disney but if not don't be too down on yourself and think you can't enjoy all of the yummy food there is to be eaten there. I always rationalize it that I am doing soo much more walking than I normally would be doing so I'm burning off all of those calories I'm taking in while there![]()
Hi Wendy
I'm all caught now, phew.Yay for having your trip paid off. My reservation is room only, but my goal is to pay it off next month (which would leave me paid off about a month before we go!).
Too bad you can't wear any of those T-shirts in the parks, they're all so cute! Maybe you should focus on buying a couple of cute Disney tanks on this trip!
From someone who is far more pooh-sized than you, I know how tough it is to lose weight. I started to see a nutritionist to help me lose weight (I have Crohn's Disease, so I have LOTS of restrictions on what I can eat). And one of the biggest lessons she's taught me is that you have to kick-start your metabolism if you want to lose weight. I was doing the same things as you: I cut all the crap out of my diet and made a commitment to exercise. But when I didn't lose any weight, the nutritionist said it was because my metabolism had slowed down. To get my metabolism going again, she wanted me to eat lots of little, healthy snacks throughout the day (a cheesestick, a hardboiled egg, a few carrot sticks, a half-pita with a scrambled egg) to keep my metabolism going and let the exercise do its work. So maybe if yuo try adding a few healthy snacks throughout the day, it might help!
P.S. I'm following you on Twitter, so I am all ready to follow your trip in a little more than a month!
I'm glad to hear you're on the right track Wendy with giving up the pepsi and chips as well as upping the exercise. That must be hard but it seems to be working even if it is small progress
Keep going and am sure the weight loss will get higher - I've been told it takes a few days for the body to adjust to any changes so you may see some big results soon![]()
Well, first off:

Less than 40!!!
Today is cold and rainy again, but I have to say we had a beautiful weekend! It was hot and sunny and I spent the whole thing outside, swimming in the Mira River with the dogs, soaking up the sun and just generally enjoying our two whole days of summer! So I filled my vitamin D reserves a bit and I'm raring to go.
By the way, I have added chapter links to post #1 to make things easier.
As far as trip things go, I have very little to update today. I have gotten a few minor things checked off my list including rolling change from our "Disney Bank" (to the tune of about $45I guess we didn't do so good at saving this year!) The rest of my to-do list looks a little like this:
-Double check park times
-Organize/count clothes to pack
-Take cans & bottles to recycle depot (yayy more money for the Disney Bank!)
-Check on prices and info for trail rides at Ft. Wilderness (I think that's where it is?)
-Call about cell phone roaming packages available
-Print list of ADRs w/ times & confirmation #'s
-Make a full itinerary & print
-MAKE ALIEN GREEN MICKEY HEADS!
I entered my flights into my Air Canada app on my phone so I'm ready for that.
My cousin M & her bf R have booked their Medieval Times tickets and are checking into their Universal tickets as well. So now we're all (almost) ready to roll!
Well, that's about all I have for today, have a magical day everyone!![]()
Hello again and welcome to my fourth installment of
Counter Service Options in the World!
<necessary dramatic music>
Today I will take you to a place where the glitz and glamour transport you back to the Hollywood Heydays from the 1930s and 1940s. Picture yourself on a real movie set (but with rides!) Take in the Broadway-style musicals, thrills to please all ages, and a nighttime fireworks spectacle.
Oh, and dont forget to grab a bite to eat.
If you havent guessed, (shame on you) todays featured park will be;
Disneys Hollywood Studios!
Min & Bills Dockside Diner: chicken Caesar salad and snacks. Looks alright, I do like chicken Caesar salad!
Back Lot Express: Burgers & nuggets, grilled turkey sandwich, veggie sandwiches, I believe some indoor seating as well. A good (if not creative) choice.
Pizza Planet: I always love eating here, Im a huge Toy Story fan. The pizza & salads are typical Disney fare, but I love their pizza so its all good. Another uncreative choice, but one I love nonetheless.
Studio Catering: chicken Caesar wraps, greek salads, Tuscan deli, buffalo chicken, turkey club, veggie sandwiches is anyone else drooling a little I know I am.
ABC Commissary: Burgers with a twist chicken curry, bleu Asian salad, cheeseburgers. A possibility, perhaps, depending on where we are when we get hungry.
Starring Rolls Café: This is our number one choice. Last year Mr. D and I Discovered this place entirely by accident and we loved it. I know you Disers are like of course duh but at the time we were blown away by the dessert choices! The sandwiches were fantastic, but those éclairs oops! Drooling on my keyboard again.
Rosies All-American Café: Burgers, fries, chicken nuggets and soups. There are just so many burger places that this one will most likely get looked over.
Fairfax Fare: Salads & BBQ ribs, chicken, pulled pork and chili dogs. Sounds tasty!
Apart from Starring Rolls (because of all the amaazing desserts on offer!) none of the other DHS CS places really appeal to me. However, I may change my mind once I have actually spent time in the park!
Btw don't feel embarassed about having a bad day on the food front - we all have to let off steam some times though I feel like I am bad every day at the minute! Just ate a Magnum ice cream but after not eating all day I need a sugar rush to keep me going! I even skipped my WW meeting this week because I knew I had gained weight - will never know if I had for sure but just wasn't in the mood to get on those scales!!
Keep up the good work!! One bad day can't derail you, just a little blip on the tracks!
I doubt I have lost any weight since I started walking and I haven't gotten smaller in my clothes, but I am feeling good and have more stamina then I did b4 I started.
I really don't have an opinion on DHS food, sorry.
YAAAY for less than 40 days!I have 115 I think?
Cant wait to hear all about your trip!!
Yeah, mine too. I'm so excited for Starring Rolls, I know for a fact we will be eating there, Mr. D won't have it any other way!Yay! I love these installments.
We have recently been eating at the Backlot Express. The food is actually pretty good. Not creative, but good. My mom loves the grilled sandwiches.
DHS is my least favorite CS place in general.
ABC Commissary has not been good the last few times I've gone there. It may be different now, but all of the reports on the DIS have echoed my sentiments too.
Starring Rolls - well, you obviously can't go wrong there.
I think Fairfax Fare sounds good too. Who doesn't love chicken and ribs?![]()
YAY someone who really understands my Disney scent! haha, I'm just glad I found a fairly suitable replacement. I should stock up on them now since they will eventually stop making this one too, I'm sure. Finally all caught upI can totally understand the scent thing. My Disney scent is an orange scented Origins shampoo. Sorry they no longer make your Jasmin scent
But congrats on paying off your trip
You're trip will be here before you know it!!!

1 MONTH UNTIL DISNEY!!!

Dear Diary,
Ive been trying, I promise. But I just keep seeing the scale creep up and up! Ive been eating healthier by far. No Pepsi, no chips! No snacking after dinner either! And Ive been doing a little exercise every day, as well as trying to do more housecleaning and things that get me moving. Admittedly, we still arent getting the nicest weather, otherwise Id be taking the dogs out for more walks (who wants to walk in pouring rain?) but I hate to make excuses. Maybe its muscle mass Im gaining, or maybe its water Im retaining. You can say whatever you want to say, but Im getting sick of it so its time to turn it up a notch.
Today I am 147.2lbs. Still technically down from my 150 starting point, but not as much as I would like. Ive been hovering around this mark for too long; its time to see some real changes.
So as of today, when I exercise and I feel tired, ready to stop, I will push myself for just 10 more minutes. When I get hungry between meals, it's an absolute no to any form of snack. When i think "fast food once in a while can't hurt" I will mentally give myself a smack and say "yes it can!" It's time to turn up the heat on this weight loss regime. After all, Diary, I only have 37 days before I wanted to be down 15lbs!
Signing off now, Diary. I'm going to put some tv on and hop on the gazelle for a half hour.
Sincerely,
-Motivated.
Sweet!![]()
I know! It totally blindsided me yesterday, I felt really overwhelmed like I'd never get everything done in time.on it being one month!!!! Can't believe how quickly time is passing!!

I too am not blown away by the CS choices at DHS...I do love SRC as well, and have eaten at just about all those listed above...I was excited over the new menu at Studio Cat Co...but was disappointed...bummer. In Jan we ate at the ABC Comm(which is where I seem to end up most trips) and had the fish/chips for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! for next jan w/ the kids we'll divide and conquer between Pizza Planet and Rosies/Fairfax
SWEET!
Dear Motivated,
I know exactly how you feel...that weight is very similar to mine. And I too desperately would love to lose 10-12 lbs myself...was getting on the less snacking, more excersing bandwagon mid summer but as soon as I lose a week...whatever I lost comes right back...it can be frustrating...but let's not lose hope and it may be hard but once off, the motivation to keep it off we'll be that much easier...GO FOR IT!I'll be excersing right w/ you!
