The Daily Grind ~ 7/6/12

Mornin'!!! It's early but couldn't sleep... even the A/C is not keeping things cool w/ 100+ degree temps... it only cooled to 80 degrees overnight..and supposed to hit 103 again today...


So, with these temps there isn't much on the list today....

get DD up for work/DD off to work til noon
get DH up and off to work
grocery list
load dishwasher and run (early AM to avoid the massive heat)
take boys to grocery with me and to lunch
sort 2010 Disney photos and pull swap pieces
text my nephew for his birthday today!!!!

Eric went with a friend to town fireworks last night and got home but was hyper from all the excitment so it was 11 when i got him to bed then 12 for me to crash so I'm just getting going this am.

Nan stay cool! I'd offer to take the heat but I hate it! after 85 i'm done by 90 I'm a puddle

pushing water is the big goal for me I'm managing 6-8 glasses mixed with enouh lemonade powder to flavor it. I need to get that up to double that it's always been a huge weakness of mine.

reading program in the village @11 one of the other libraries is doing it for us.

clean out fridge (never finished it the other day)
vac/shark mop again! I hate logging boots.

finish glueing stamps
collapse for a relaxing night in my porch swing.

Today will be day #15 with temps above 95! Thank goodness for a/c

My girls will be back from the mountains this morning I think they want to take me to the movies. I'm finally feeling mostly human again so maybe we'll go see "Brave"

Nan - stay cool (how is your AC unit doing?? I like to vacumn the coils if it sounds like it is straining - we had college boys in our house before we brought it so I don't think they changed the filter enough so getting the extra dirt out helps with the air flow)

Rebecca - enjoy the children service, I always like those

Buffy - happy Birthday to DS16, enjoy the cake

Christy - I like to get those packages that flavor that water but I use one for a whole pitcher instead of the 20oz drink

Cassey - a chauffer smilie would be nice - seems alot of us are doing that

boys will be picked up at 11 so got to make sure they get a shower before going - lunch is in the freezer for them mine is leftover chicken if James stays out of it

Morning all!

Everyone one sounds like they have a busy day plan. I am taking it easy because of the heat as well, and staying in the cool. It is only suppose to get to 106 today, and we won't talk about the humidity and heat index

Once over the house
Finish up laundry (already started)
Brew some coffee (Trying to quit, but baby steps)
Scrap-only got one page done yesterday, that I don't even like!
Turn phones off so no one calls me with plans to distract me from scrapping

This week with no sports or activities has been a nice little break

Actually the A/C is working fine.... it's cooling the house.... I had DH clean the filter again this morning... I've been making him do it every other week.... They are saying it will be 103 today and tomorrow.....that hopefully we will hit a break next week... (90s and then 80s...) fingers crossed that happens... still no forecast for good rain..we are currently in a severe drought and where my babies go to college (opposite ends of the state) extreme drought conditions...

When we got on DD's college website yesterday it said it was 106 down there!!

ETA: got her graphing calculator ordered... saved 50.00
got all her novels for 40.00 saved 25.00
now, we are searching for her textbooks...think we will rent and that will save about 250.00!!! (only 4 books left to find)

I use the 32 oz water bottle fill it with 1 packet and water/ice, drink, when it's abt 6 oz left I refill with just water and ice only. so far I'm only making it through 2 bottles a day I'd like to hit 3 full ones by sunday. While I'm using the wii and the scale I haven't stepped on the actual scale in the bathroom till today so far but tomorrow is weigh in/ measureing day.
off to enter what I've gotten done before I forget cause I ran out to the reading program for an hour and then stopped for lunch. I still have to finish the wii

Nan great job on the saving!!! Reminds me I need to copy the supply list for their Aunt she tends to get the bulk of the school stuff. I'm still waiting on the highschool list.

They are college textbooks so no way to use an older edition and get the right info for tests.... 2 of the books I know are brand new.... but we can rent them for the semester so that is what we will do....

They are starting to get some of the school supplies out in the store....
I had 15.00 left from shopping elsewhere today...so I took it and bought... 24 spiral notebooks at 17 cents each (4.00).... then I bought 4 of each (2.00)... crayons, colored pencils and markers...

I will buy more when they go on sale cheaper..as I like to keep a years supply on hand so I don't have to make a dash out when the kids forget, I can send extra stuff to my college kids, and I can donate to DH's work for their backpack attack....

I need to look for staples penny sale when I finish checking in here....

I am struggling through this Harry Potter. I am not loving my pages which makes me sad, because I LOVED that part of the trip.

I need to drink more water too. The problem is when I drink more water, I have to use the bathroom more often too! Not a problem during the summer. Once school starts back up, I never have time to go to the bathroom. It is kind of frowned upon to leave a lot of middle school children unsupervised to use the restroom

So the birthday party turned into a sleepover, I am going to have one very cranky girl tomorrow! But at least she is having fun today!

Michelle, I hear you about struggling with pages and not loving them! This DC album is giving me fits! Have only done 4 pages since 10AM

Nan, I refuse to even think of school supplies yet! Forunately Julia will not need much as she took good care of all her binders from last year.

Lisa, Congrats to Megan on making the Performance team for dance!

Crazy thing is Cassey... alot of our county schools start 8/1 (balanced calendars).. we don't start til 8/15 (I think)... I know it's a bad day because it's supposed to be move in day for PJ too.....so we are trying to see if we can move her in a day early.... My sister or mom has to come help w/ the boys so we can move her in!!!!
