The Daily Grind ~ 7/6/12

They are just barely starting with school stuff here so no sales yet, they go back Aug 28 so I've got time. Alice always takes them shopping for their stuff this year though she's finally going on a trip to alaska with her brother and sil so I don't know how much she'll do so I need sales quick!!! Some of the stuff I know we already have as she always puts stuff in their stockings and she bought so much at school start that I never run out. I' sure not many of Levis binders survived but he's only going to need 2. Our highshool has 90 min blocks so he'll have 2 core classes and 1 elective and his IEP block for each 1/2 of the year. For him that is awesome in the fact that englis and math are split he'll never have them in the same block. but not having math for 9 months they are working on getting him into a 45 min block with IEP of a statigic skills math. We won't know anything till aug and probably the middle as they are doin consturction at the high school this summer. But they will know by the 24th as that is orientation

nan that is insane but so true to what happens here. They scheduled championship ball grad week!

my boys start Aug 27, I think
but I never get a list - special ed isn't included in what everyone else does - usually I send what I think they need then the teachers can either keep it or send it home but no colors (Richard eats them)

oh yeah - I got the Mickey & Minnie as Woody & Jessie put together - I wonder if I can find Mickey as buzz (or maybe Donald or Goofy would be better)

thanks Cassey and Nan for Megan's congrats!

we got our back to school paperwork today with all the lists, etc...funny thing though we don't have a first day of school scheduled yet :confused3 school board must still be figuring stuff out....if it goes as normal it will be Sept 5th

Lisa no 1st day???? they do ours in like jan/feb and finalize in mar/apr!

Reddy I think goofy buzz would be cool. Our special ed school doesn't do lists because of issues like Richards, one of my friends works their and the parents want lists!

off to bed I got through 3 bottles of water @32 oz each and feel like a blimp. It atually is making me hungrier???? It's nights like tonight i hate tom and levi are just coming in so I had to cook another dinner and that is not helping.

I need to start logging my food and exercise again- I do much better when logging it in.

I will let everyone know when I see penny and dollar sales at Staples- DH normally lets me know in advance since he works there.

Rebecca

Christy, good job on the water! I had a hungry day yesterday, mostly because I didn't eat much on the 4th. Today is not as bad. On my 4th water bottle-16oz each. Still have lots of room for dinner. :) not sure if I'll work out tomorrow since we're headed to Seattle to see the pirates land, some friends, and to oogle the wonder if its in port. May not be since it departs on mondays.

Rebecca that would be great THANK YOU!!!!

Rachel I'm sure you'll get your walking in. Enjoy the day

Julia has orientation on August 17th, but probably will not have a supply list until after she starts on the 29th. We will have the basics but that's about it. Not sure what Josh is going to want/need this year. He doesn't start until after Labor Day.

Rachal, have fun today!

Christy, good jub on the water!

Rebecca, thank you for letting us know about the Staples sale!

I use the 32 oz water bottle fill it with 1 packet and water/ice, drink, when it's abt 6 oz left I refill with just water and ice only. so far I'm only making it through 2 bottles a day I'd like to hit 3 full ones by sunday. While I'm using the wii and the scale I haven't stepped on the actual scale in the bathroom till today so far :cool1::cool1::cool1: but tomorrow is weigh in/ measureing day.
off to enter what I've gotten done before I forget cause I ran out to the reading program for an hour and then stopped for lunch. I still have to finish the wii

I too need the chauffer smiley.....

Cheryl glad to hear you're feeling human again.
Nan great job on the saving!!! Reminds me I need to copy the supply list for their Aunt she tends to get the bulk of the school stuff. I'm still waiting on the highschool list.

Christy, please be careful with the amount of water you drink. No more than 64 ounces a day, there is a thing called water poisoning. If you drink to much your body can't process it and it can kill you!
You can also count one 8oz coffee or tea a day as 8 oz of water.

I am struggling through this Harry Potter. I am not loving my pages which makes me sad, because I LOVED that part of the trip.

I need to drink more water too. The problem is when I drink more water, I have to use the bathroom more often too! Not a problem during the summer. Once school starts back up, I never have time to go to the bathroom. It is kind of frowned upon to leave a lot of middle school children unsupervised to use the restroom :lmao:

Once your body gets used to the added water, bathroom breaks will balance out. It took me about a week or so to get adjusted. I also try to stop drinking liquids about an hour before I go to bed.

Buffy That's interesting cause my drs have told me that I should be drinking a gallon of water a day? 1 of the girls I work with drinks 2 gals a day.

Cassey did Josh decide where he's going (i probably missed it). I'm figuring that will be Levi with highschool or he'll get at orientation and it will all be gone. I'm thinking I'm going to get him a zip binder that way everything goes and comes home! he had a bad habbit of leaving math at school this spring.

2 gallons a day is very very dangerous!

read some of the notable cases.

Healthy adult kidneys are capable of processing 15 liters of water or almost 4 U.S. gallons, per day, if one drinks the water in small quantities spread throughout the entire day.

It is not advisable, however, to drink 15 liters of water daily over a long period.

The United States Department of Agriculture, food and nutrition information center, in general recommends an average daily fluid intake, including liquids from foods and other beverages, of 2.7 liters or 91 ounces for women, and 3.7 liters or 125 ounces for men spread throughout the day.

It is important to realize that the center's recommendation varies more or less with body mass, activity level, heat, humidity, and health status.

In addition, the average healthy person should ingest no more than approximately 240 milliliters, or close to 8 ounces, in roughly an hour giving the body adequate time to absorb use and excrete the water effectively.
