The Daily Grind ~12/31/11~

It's NEW YEAR'S EVE!!

I'm already planning to have a great 2012!!

Today I have to:

:bride: Go to a wedding!! DS19's bestie friend all thru school is getting married! I've known her since kindergarten. Her mama and I are good friends. We car pooled thru high school and she was at my house every afternoon. She calls me her "other mother".

And now she is getting married...I better bring lots of kleenex!

I look at this year and wonder where it went... Till I think of her and wonder where all those years went... Like a flash... Sigh :sad2:

Congratulations to the bride and her "other mother!" Have fun!

It's amazing how time flies. DH and I will be married for 17 years this May and my "baby" girl will be 12 in July. Seems like just yesterday...

No big plans for the day, other than ice cream at Friendly's early this evening and a couple returns. Found DCWV stacks at Jo's for $6 yesterday, less another 15%! I love that stitched Christmas stack.

Everyone stay safe! Happy New Year!

Great find Jennifer! We have a Joann's opening soon across the way from our Michaels.
Have a great time at the wedding Debbie!

Today:
continue working on scrap area- out glitter and beads in a spot; sort out mini embellishments (eyelets, brads, buttons, ect; go through the bags of embellishments(leftovers from projects) and pout them in their correct spot.

That will leave me with- go through paper and put it away and putting away of 2011 swap items to finish up the room. I will take a picture of it when it is done.

Also dinner: New Years Eve we do appetizers for the evening instead of a full dinner so: wings, sugar weenies, pigs in a blanket, stuffed mushrooms?, vegie tray, crackers with cheese/lunchmeats (although we may decide to go to service tonight in which case I will do all of this tomorrow night instead.

the wedding sounds fun - no way to forget Annv. ;)

DH gets off early today
need to print some pictures
want to inkscape so New Year Eve things - got to remember to take pics tonight
make DS16 shower this morning
go get more milk
enjoy Christmas tree - it comes down tomorrow

clean kitchen
fold laundry

Deb, have fun at the wedding!

Other than work I don't have a lot planned for today. I'll leave for work in just a bit. I'm going in much earlier than usual for when I work Saturdays, but we close early today and tomorrow. This evening will be quiet and I doubt I'll make it to midnight since we were up past midnight last night playing card games and the Wii Party with DS & his GF. It was so much fun! But, I was up early (6 a.m.) with the kitties so I'm already tired. I rarely stay up that late so doing it 2 days in a row would be quite amazing!:rotfl:

Have a safe New Years Eve everyone!

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Enjoy the wedding Debbie!
Have an enjoyable ice cream date with the family, Jennifer...
Reddy, hope you are able to get that inkscape stuff done.
Stephanie, enjoy your day at work.
Rebecca hope you are able to get your sorting done today!

Today,
I slept in.. it was nice but I really am ready to get back on a regular schedule.
I need to prep dinner pot roast, cabbage, all the appetitizers for tomorrow (we snack all day New Years while we watch bowl games, basketball, movies, and play games... it's every body for yourself day tomorrow!!!)
DH is building a new porch railing for our back deck
DS15 is at his last basketball practice for 2011
Boys will be getting haircuts today (out with the old.. in with the new)
DD will print her paper today and stop fretting over it....

DD will finish the premade pages today for all the 2011 activities
DD will buy the page protectors that she keeps forgetting for above pages to be put in
DD will get that album going today!!!
DS11 is helping DH with the deck
finish :laundy:
pay bills x 2
start looking on line for graduation dress for me.. I have very few dress clothes since I SAH.
set up goals for next week
kick the kids' bottoms at Just Dance **mommy is the ruler**
pull journaling pages and have family write down their top 10 wants for our trip
email dorm need list to Grandma and Aunt who want to start buying items (they want colors and designs so they don't hurt her feelings.. little do they know PJ is one who if it wasn't what she liked, she'd never tell them and be thankful that they thought of her!)

I'm sure there is more but I need to get get dinner going for tonight..

afternoon all

Deb enjoy the wedding
Jennifer yummmmmm can I come join you!
Rebecca can't wait for the pics I'm inspried to clean up my room instead of the house!
Reddy I was hoping that by 16 I could stop reminding them to shower :headache: this is a HUGE battle in my house
Stephanie enjoy a quiet night at work! I doubt I'll make midnight either
Nan That list is TOOOO long for a holiday.

boys are out ice fishing that means a me day and I don't have to cook dinner!!!!
I'm cleaning the (s)crap room everything get thrown in here at christmas time. I have to take down so many pics and what not and it all gets dropped in piles I can hardly get to the computer! Tomorrows job is my bedroom my cloths are out of control. Tom needs to clean the screen on the washer so my stuff has piled up for over a week ( yes i have WAY to many cloths) once they are all washed I need to purge and empty out boxes of stuff that landed in there after the last cleaning spree that never finished.

Back to it hope you all have a great day

oh we still have to scrub him - usually DH does it - at least the other one I can just point & he scrubs where I point at

cutting toe nails is the worst - he thinks I'm cutting the toes off (at least he bites his finger nails off so I don't have to trim them)

the fun of Autism

Autism ugh..... my least cousin LOVED the water! He'd take 2 hour showers and baths if his parents let him. now try to get the kid to leave the house NO WAY. He's now in a group home as it was past what my aunt and uncle could handle (they are 70 and 72), and he was getting larger and larger with the lack of activity. He's a very serve case though.

Mine have no excuse other than they'd rather do something else! I finally locked the TV and dinner is waiting on the table for them being boys that tends to make them move!!! It wasn't so bad when L was swimming he'd shower at the pool after practice. Now trying to move 2 of them through it causes me to bang my head on the wall.

my youngest will take a 2 hour bath - we used to have a above ground pool both would spend hours in it in the summer then oldest started having siezures so it came down

we are going to put the boys in a group home after our next Disney trip - oldest is consider serve, youngest is mod almost serve - no way they can be leave by themselves (not even to go fill the car up with gas or walk around the block)

God bless you it is not an easy life to lead. We wish they had done it sooner for his sake he'd have adapted better they were told. It was awful for the first month they couldn't go see him. but he's now 36 and when he was younger they did alot after 30 it really went down hill for him. He seems happy now that he has a pattern to go with and has settled in.

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

Since our special angel is at respite this weekend giving DH and I a much needed break, we had the opportunity to sleep in (and hopefully get rid of this five plus week cold)

We took a ride to Exeter, NH to check out a salvage/antique shop. We were looking for a stain glass window but ended up buying a dresser. :confused3:lmao:
Had a late lunch out
clean the dresser
Do the Mt. Washmore shuffle again.

Enjoy your New Year's Eve, ladies.

blessings for you too Lisa. They never had respite other than 1 of their sons and my aunts sister did a bit. I think that made it much harder on my aunt since basically she'd never really "let go".
I'm glad you 2 got a break this weekend. Guess that Dresser really spoke to you both :rotfl: hopefully you'll get another sleep in morning!

Happy new year!

I found my scrap desk and the 6x6 floor area around it. only took me ALL day:scared1: but I purged and before I go to bed I will find the top of the scrap box dad made. I have WAY WAY WAY to much paper:headache: definatley have to get busy scrappin and use some more of it before ckc in april.
