It's Hump Day!! And for many (including me :) ) It's the end of the work week :cool1:

My list for today:

Caffeinate
smiley_drinkcoffee.gif
This repeats every day!!

Work till 3p

Run to the market for anything we forgot for dinner on Thursday

Make sure DH makes his mashed sweet potatoes

Dinner... Talipia... took it out for dinner last night, and then no one was home 'cept DH and me, so we had leftovers

Have a Great Day Everyone!! :teeth:

It's WEDNESDAY! Woooohoooo!

It's my first official day of Thanksgiving Break, and it appears to be going down the toilet quickly.

We got home on Tuesday evening to find that the dryer is no longer working. It's 10 years old, and it's probably just a heating element problem. I have 5 loads of clothes to do--2 of which are now wet. We called the repair place and the earliest they can have someone is NEXT WEDNESDAY (12/2).

I am about to go to pieces, and DH says, "I don't know why you're stressing out." WHAT?? Does he live here? There's a ton of other stuff going, but the dryer was just the straw, you know?

Sorry to vent! Here's my list for Wednesday:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Pack DH's lunch

4. DS up
5. DS breakfast
6. DS's Christmas pics

7. Come home and load up laundry
8. Drive 30 min to my mom's to do all laundry
9. Try to get DS to nap there
10. Drive home
11. Make salad for IL's
12. Get DH ready for IL's
13. Pull down Christmas stuff
14. Try not to yell at DH
15. P365 pic
16. Collapse into bed if I have met the goal of not smacking anyone!!

Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Brooke, you need to come to work with me. I have a great job, if anyone gets nasty with me (hard to believe, right?) ;) I can give it right back to them. Great therapy. Sorry to hear about your dryer. With a little one, not having a dryer is horrid. :scared1: Go ahead, smack someone if it makes you feel better.

My Wednesday to do list:

Load the woodstove with wood
Feed kitty
clean kitty's litterbox
fold two loads of laundry
put wash into the dryer, and a load of laundry into the wash.
Get DD up and ready for school
caffeinate
Work
out early :dance3:
make my homemade cranberry sauce; one batch for us, one batch for my brother.

Hey, the "finishing up" stuff is going pretty well! The plan is to stay in this mode until it seems sane again around here. (Well, semi-sane!) I'm even getting scrapping done...and thank-you gifts/cards are made and ready to be distributed during the three hours (?) the kids are in school today and I'm walking the dog.

SIOH - I loved your #14 and #16...I'll try, too! Good luck with the laundry!

Lisa, don't sneeze in your cranberry sauce! :rotfl: I roared with laughter when I read your post on the snarky thread...!

Ugh...I can't sleep - third night in a row bad headache that jusst won't go away - this doesn't bode well for my 6 am expedition with PBF on Friday - I must sleep or I get a little squirely (Pam remember last friday I was squirely)

My list

Pick up tables at target
"snow" at Christmas tree shops
Make Pies, Apple, Pumpkin and my Marshmellow, fruit salad, sour cream pie(yummy)

Make sure we have wine
Iron table linens
Make sure I have fresh bed linens for our big girl sleep over
Buy duraflames
Pick up the Bean at noon

Find things to say to PBF that start with "If somebody loved you..." so that she'll have a complete holiday experience on thursday

Have a great day everyone -

Lisa ~ sorry to hear about the mash potatoes...said kid would have been in a world of hurt here...

TB ~ sorry about the never-ending headache... those are awful... it's even worse when you can't sleep them away.

I hope everyone has a good day and gets alot accomplished so they can enjoy tomorrow. I'm going to try to get most of the cutting/prep work done today so I can enjoy tomorrow..

Brooke - I'm sorry about the dryer - I totally understand revenge of the machines all too well.

Lisa - Can you come to my work and talk down to some people? I am having professional/paraprofessional issues with some full-timers, who like to catch me 2 minutes before closing and talk down to me until I'm visibly upset... and then say "I'm glad we understand each other" when I turn and walk away when I can't deal anymore. *sigh*

Rhonda- Is she seriously sleeping over? :sad2: I wasn't invited?! Hahaha
And - yay cheese platter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DIT - Isn't it sad when you're like "Wow, I have a page for me!" I experienced that feeling when I showed my family some pages, and my dad was like "Is this for a swap?"
And I was like like "Nope!" proudly... and then realized.. wow... how long has it been?

My day:
Up
Grab something to eat
Get ready & head out
Pick up Lou's friend (although Lou isn't coming)
Walk to high school
Go visit teachers
Watch Pep Rally (first time since graduating, although I've visited teachers since then)
Back home

Go to bank and post office
Got to Rite-Aid for soda & chips for Black Friday Potluck at BBW
Change into work clothes
Go to belated birthday dinner with my friend
Call work during dinner and see if BBW needs me (which they will, of course. I hate call-ins!)
Probably work until 10
Home
Sleep!!!!

morning everyone.

i'm at work and all alone. my coworker has the day off.

i have a zillion things on my list for when i get out at 4:00.

just wanted to pop in and say Hi and happy thursday!

Hi ALL!!!

Have been MIA the last few days! When I get up and out early I miss my DIS time!

Today -

DD up and out for school - early release day today
COFFEE
Little one up and fed
Paper clutter - its gonna happen today!
Laundry
Get 2 recipes from MIL for what I am supposed to bring to dinner tomorrow
Take MIL my crock pot
Take DD and Dad to get new tennis shoes
Maybe take Little one to a park
Take pumpkins out of house and feed them to the cattle - we never even carved them so REALLY time to get rid of them
3 pm Meet with construction foremen on house build - I think we are actually getting somewhere....
Mentally prepare for Thanksgiving Dinner - hope I get to hear a little gem I can post on the snarky thread!!

I have, for years, been trying to get DH to think like BAMB - lets go somewhere on Christmas and forget them - to no avail. And even though we are in temporary housing here while we build this will be the first time since we have been married we will sort of be "home" at Christmas. Weird.

Everyone - enjoy your prep day! Take some deep breaths - vent here!!

I finally got the 2nd bathroom cleaned, last night, so most of my list is stuff for in there. And getting ready for Turkey Day/Black Friday.

Unpack linens that go downstairs (figure out what to be donated)
Hang shower curtain
Unpack toiletries/other items for bathroom
Make dessert for tomorrow
Unpack glass for display case, to get boxes out of the way for my furniture delivery on Sat
Finish going through stuff that needs framing (I am writing down sizes, and hopefully I can get good frames cheap with the sales this weekend)
JC Penny for curtain for closet in scrap room - Found the perfect sheers and they are on clearance for $10!
Target for curtain rods
Dinner - Penne w/ Chicken & Asparagus

I also took some pics of the progress in the scrap room and LEGO room. Basically, they are disaster areas. I did clean the scrap room a bit after I took these pics, so I have some room to get the furniture in. Once I have the furniture, it will clean up really quick.

Thanks again to PO3 for sharing the cost of the shelves with me :lmao:. No organization to them yet, though...just everything thrown on. Below the bottom shelf, you can see MY version of the Clip-It-Up. I bought a curtain rod at Target for $5, and then 2 packs of rings for it for. Total cost ~$13. I am going to get a second set for under the top shelf, for some of my Alice stuff that is easier to display, clipped to something (keychains, paper, etc). Although, it is still messy, I LOVE how it is coming together so far...just as I imagined.

The rest of the disaster:

And here is all DH's LEGO (still mostly packed up).

Hey, we have those shelves. It may not look like it, but they can hold a lot of heavy items. :thumbsup2 They have our Hot Wheels collection on them. Along with lots of other things. :rotfl2:

No list today.
Got the allergy shots for the kiddos this morning so I'm happy. :)

Tinker, hope the headache goes away. What is sour cream pie? :confused3

Hope it's really coming together nicely. thanks for the pics.

and i won't even show bubba you dh's lego room! he'll want one too!

Hope, both of those rooms are SO cool!

Well, the dryer saga has a happy ending! We called several repairmen today, and were told that on the day before Thanksgiving, they ONLY work on stoves! Interesting, huh? We finally determined (after talking to all of them), that it would be cheaper (or at least the same price) to replace our 10-year-old machine, rather than fix it. So, DH went and got one today, and installed it tonight. It is pleasantly humming along! The blessing was that DH got some mileage checks today at work that he had forgotten about, so it was covered without too much "emergency money" being used!!

The other blessing today was taking DS for Christmas pics. He's entered a phase of shyness--I was EXTREMELY shy as a child (and EXTREMELY not now. . .but that's another story!), so we sort of expected this. I thought he might have problems today, and I was worried. He was SO thrilled to see the photographer (he was more excited to see her than he was my family at Thanksgiving! :rotfl2:). After the pics, she came out and sad, "I'm sorry". I looked at her funny, and she said, "Ummmmmm, you're going to have to re-mortgage your house!" They were just so cute! (You know how it is when it's your child, it just always makes you sappy!!) So, that was my uplift for today!

Laundry is going, broccoli salad is made for tomorrow, caffeine is ready to go in the morning. . .I may survive after all!!

Thank you all for all of your incredible support! We have such a great group here!

That is great that everything worked out so well for you Brooke!!!

Glad that Big D had fun in his photo shoot!!! :P

My dryer needs to be humming along...but I can't get motivated to finish the last 2 loads of laundry...so guess what I'll do tomorrow!!! ;)

Lisa, don't sneeze in your cranberry sauce! :rotfl: I roared with laughter when I read your post on the snarky thread...!

If I did that, my brother would cream me. :scared1: The memory of his knuckle sandwiches linger on after all these years.

Ugh...I can't sleep - third night in a row bad headache that jusst won't go away - this doesn't bode well for my 6 am expedition with PBF on Friday

Sorry about your headache, Rhonda, hope it eases soon.

*sigh*

Oh, ZtH, sorry you are being treated poorly at work. Is there someone you can talk to about how you feel when they speak to you like that? I work in an industry that is prodominately men so when they run into me they are shocked someone is speaking to them professionally, with manners and willing to help them. Go figure, you would think it was a lost art form.:confused3 My administrator knows that if I start getting curt with someone, they were above and beyond rude.

Hang in there, sweetie.
