The Crazy Life of a New Floridian & Ongoing TRs

Hi Kara!!

Loved seeing you last week- although I would have loved it more had I actually been standing there in person instead of at the other end of a phone photo!!!;) Can't wait to hear what you did- I started my new one, too- come by and say hi!:wave2:

You were doing your second update while I was posting earlier. I love the Tinkerbell and shrinking story. That is great. What a memory? Reading it I kept thinking that I want to go meet Tinkerbell.

Ok...so I read the post I missed about the fairies, and I am fighting back the tears when I read about Ally's legs shaking.... :lovestruc

and then I read this-"No thanks, I have a problem with the whole shrinkage thing. I don't want anything to shrink."

OMG- LOLOLOLOL!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You are a rockstar of TRs, my friend!:thumbsup2

Your back! Actually I can't believe your Mother-Daughter trip has already come and gone. Sure you are feeling the same way.

I agree, corner rooms are the best. We have lucked out both times at POR and received one. I need to put in that request at CBR for next Sept.

Love the tshirts and your minnie ears.

I so want to go and check out the Christmas decorations. I don't plan on going back until after Thanksgiving, but maybe DH would let me make a daytrip this weekend.

It's so hard to stay away, isn't it? I cried not only at the beginning of the trip, but also as we left. I told Jeff that as long as I still cry when we leave, then we're not oversdoing it yet....

I'm serious - she was awesome. But then I loved meeting the princesses with Ally 2 years ago. Just seeing her face meeting a real live princess was incredible. But I think I liked Tink more than she did. All three fairies were so tiny - they couldn't be more than 5' tall and 100 lbs soaking wet. It made them seem more real. And Tink's expressions were cute.

Thanks Ellen! I always wanted to be a rockstar, except I can't sing. And I don't like being in front of a crowd. And the bright lights scare me. So maybe I'll just stick to TRs. That means I have to spend more time in Disney!

Yes, I was texting Jeff to tell him about Ally and the shaking legs. He was on the golf course at the time and he said he about died laughing when he got my text.

It was funny, we had just had lunch with Cammie when he told me about the shrinking thing. He said he was afraid that everything wouldn't go back to the right size, and the last thing he needed was anything smaller! :rotfl2: It was too funny. And the funniest part is that he said it right in front of Ally and of course it all went over her head.

My fear is that she'll go into school and talk about it and the little brats here will tell her what's what. I'll go kick some second grade butt if I have to! Hey, I'm not afraid!

Kara- If that were me sitting at PVH hearing that out of Ally's mouth I would have cried! She is so Darling!

Hey Jillian! It was very sweet - and she has this little chipmunk voice that makes it sound even cuter. She talked about her shaking legs all trip long. any time she'd get tired, it was because of the shrinking. Too funny.

...
Jeff told me not to push it. I needed to prepare myself for the fact that she might not buy into this. I would have to tell her <gasp> that Tinkerbell was just a gal dressed up. Say it ain’t so!!!

...

What does Jeff mean that it's not the REAL Tink?

See, it is the real Tink ... hence Jeff's issue with shrinkage:lmao::scared1: :lmao: Sorry.... couldn't resist!!

Great photos and update:thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: He would absolutely shrivel up (pardon the pun!!!) and die if he knew I told y'all about that comment!!!

Be sure to keep that one for her memory book. That is awesome she still believes in the magic.

Ok, I so need to borrow Ally because there is no way Mitch will wait in line with me to see the fairies! ;)

Be careful what you wish for! She's very expensive, and she stops a lot for pin trading and autographs. But she'll be ready to go by 6am. What day do you want to pick her up? And feel free to keep her for the week. She doesn't eat much, but what she doesn't eat she wants in pins, minnie mouse ears, princess crowns, and anything that lights up and makes noise for the parades.

Have fun!

Ok - all this "shrinking" talk is reminding me of that Seinfeld episode. Remember?

Elaine: "It shrinks?" Jerry: "Like a frightened turtle!" Elaine: "I swear, I don't know how you guys walk around with that thing!":lmao:

Showing my age ... yes I LOVE that episode:lmao:

Of course I remember that episode! Name one that I DON'T remember! Didn't you catch my reference in the Tinkerbell section - "not that there's anything wrong with that."

I even try to dance like Elaine at least once a year, preferably at a wedding. And definitely with Ally and Jeff nearby. I'm starting early on the many ways to embarass my child! ;)

Oh don't even get me started on Seinfeld references!

BEST SHOW EVA!!!!!
(serenity now!)

So for lunch we (read “I”) decided to try Pinocchio’s Village Haus. I’d never been here before so I wanted to try someplace new. Sorry, no food porn, but suffice it to say that it was pizza. Sorta. It served its purpose and I walked out full. I think Ally had a pb&j, but aside from her shaking legs, she left feeling good, too.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, BEFORE lunch, we had to stop to check out Mickey’s and Minnie’s houses – those feisty mice already have their Christmas decorations up!!!

We had grabbed FPs for Peter Pan before we went in for lunch. Why? I don’t know but it’s been keeping me up at night since we returned. Of all the FPs in the park, why did Ally want to get them for Peter Pan? That’s a rhetorical question, cause I don’t have the answer.

So after lunch we still had time to kill before our FP time was up, so we went to ride IASW. I got a little concerned when I saw the line was 20 minutes! For IASW??? But yes, we stood in line, and by now it was…..

I never knew this happened! I guess I've never waited in line more than 5 minutes, and obviously it's never been at the top of the hour!

So, are you ready? Cause you know you're gonna sing. And point at the pics on your screen and say things like, "Oh, I love that part!"

That was for any of my friends who's last names are O'xxxxx or Mc'xxxxx

Could I have taken any MORE pics on IASW, you ask??? Of course I could have, but I didn't want to tick off the guys behind me anymore. Now I did NOT hear anyone say, nor did I read anywhere, that no flash photos were allowed on IASW. Or I wouldn't have done it. Cause I'm a law abiding citizen. I have never taken a pic inside POTC because I distinctly hear the mystery announcer tell me every time that it is NOT allowed. But oh, I would love to break the rules for Capt Jack, or WITH Capt Jack!

After IASW, we waited 10 minutes for Snow White. I know this is a cheesy attraction, but if you really pay close attention, the colors are beautiful in here. I think I like it a bit more each time.

And every time we are behind the castle now, Ally wants to check for Cindy’s evil StepMother, or her Fairy Godmother. Now I’m hoping and praying that Step Mon isn’t out there, because we have a surprise ADR at 1900PF on Saturday night and I want it to be special when she meets the whole family!

But luckily, we get to meet the Fairy Godmother! Ally was so excited – again, another autograph that we’ve never gotten. Life is good. Not chili cheese fries good, but still good. Kinda like Pinocchio Village Haus pizza when you’re starving good. Sorta.

As we were standing in line waiting, I was examining, really examining the castle. It’s not only beautiful when you’re walking up Main St, but it’s beautiful right up close too.

I think I want to marry an imagineer in my next life. I’ll wear a shirt that says “Imagineers do it creatively!” or something equally redneck. And I’ll have free passes. So there!

Finally, the coveted FPs for Peter Pan were due! So off we went!
I’d had enough of Fantasyland by now, I was ready for some REAL fun!

But Ally had other ideas. Since we were so close, she wanted to ride Cinderella's Golden Carousel.

I took the same pic that I took 2 1/2 years ago here.

Kinda breaks my heart to see her growing up. Cause with the growing up comes the mouth, the eye rolls, and the sighs. I guess that's one reason I cling to Disney so hard. There is no fighting in Disney! She's just my sweet little baby here. And she loves her some Disney.

And my little classic lover just HAD to sit through Carousel of Progress. We sang through each segue. That's whay the Disney World cds will do to you.

Tomorrowland Speedway. Enough said, no commentary needed.

While we were here, we basically walked on Space Mountain - Tomorrowland rocks!!!

I’m sure this was in part because Friday night was MVMCP at MK so a lot of day trippers didn’t want to waste their one day passes on a park that closed at 7pm. But it worked for us!

Cause after we left Frontierland, we were on our way to DHS for Fantasmic!

I haven’t seen Fantasmic in over 10 years, and Ally has never seen it.
What I had forgotten is that there is no easy way to get to another park from MK. It’s like MK holds you hostage, it’s like a jealous boyfriend that doesn’t want you to date other parks. Even if it’s not serious, it doesn’t even want you to LOOK at another park. Oh, sure, you can hang out with all the resort you want to, they must be like the pimply adolescent boys who are “just friends.” But try to get to another park from MK. Just try it.

But being the Disney goddess that I am – well, in my own mind – I knew we could take the bus to YC/BC and catch a boat to DHS. See? Always thinkin!
The bus to YC/BC came right away and we were off. We walked through the lobby of YC, I showed Ally the pool at BC and promised her that one day we’d all stay there as a family. She was not happy with me when I pointed out that this is where we stayed two months ago.

Up next, Fantasmic! I would stay and play longer, but darn Disboards won't let me add any more pics to this post!

Hi Kara! Welcome Back! I love your TR so far! The time with the fairies and Ally's comments were so precious! I hope she stays that way for a long time.

I thought of Seinfeld right away, too! :lmao:
