The countdown to POP Century - September 2011!!!!

When do the resorts get Halloween mechandise? Can anyone report back before Sept if they see any at Pop?

I really want to stop and grab a few things to make a surprise gift bag for DD to put in our room for our trip!

The girls' tweedle dee & dum costumes are kinda punky too - white tank, black skirt with white crinoline fringe - shirts will say "I'm with her"... pig tails with black, white & red ribbons, black & white striped knee socks (if i can find some - might have to make)
Robin and Norma called today and gave an idea for our whole gang....cute idea but I won't say till we are sure...plus don't wanna give away our idea...LOL
started packing too - hard to do with dd around most of the time I'm home and try to keep it a surprise - we are "trying" to stick with one checked but are prepared to do a second if necessary. Then carryon for each of us plus small back packs for girls, laptop bag, and a shoulder bag for me... trying to not overpack but don't want to forget things either... dd is almost set - just need a couple shorts but hard to take stuff she still needs...
I for the most part have bought new stuff for the trip sooo no worries about raiding their closets...even got them new undies! I found a perfect HS shirt today at Justice and some tanks at Aero. I think I have everything except the MNSSHP outfit. It feel nice. Now just need a few things for myself and DH. I have 2 new outfits packed for me....looking for something else!!
we have Epcot scheduled for the Friday too with Akershus booked for breakfast... don't want to change cause doubt I would get another res for 11 any other day... hubby also is adamant about going to f&w so think we'll have to just brave crowds... can always start in countries in morning and go to the other areas in the afternoon - might be less busy...

We 2 have a ressie there for 12. I thought about doing the World showcase right at 11 till 1 and then getting outta there. I made the kids Epcot passports through Artscow so I really want them to be able to use them. What time is ur ressie again? I think ours is 9:20am

Ours is at 8:20 - was talking to dh and he said the same - hit the f&w early and then retreat to future world - hopefully less busy in that part - everyone in the worlds - we don't have park hoppers so confined to one park...

Think i'll get new undies qnd socks for my girl too - one less thing to forget lol

Can't wait to see ur MNSSHP idea - I'm sure it's awesome

I would sugget the morning also. By mid afternoon it was . It didn't help that it was extremly hot the day we went either. There was also some other things going on beacuse it was the first day.

Does anyone know where I can get a lime green mickey? Or how to make one? Maybe lime green bistol board?
I was thinking of putting my dis name in the mddle of a lime green mickey. Maybe hang it in the window, the door, or off my lawn chair.
Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if its possible to upgrade your park tickets once down there - kinda thought of park hopper but not sure - really wish it were an option u could add to only a xouple days instead of the whole trip

I love it, they have the BEST backgrounds for getting in the Disney mood. They have a couple for all of the resorts, but I have the Halloween mickey set as mine right now, it's getting me pumped up for MNSSHP!

Absolutely. No need to upgrade to park hoppers or water parks until you get there.

Yes you can do it at the concierge desk after you check in. We just added the WP and more option on Friday to our tickets. We are well under our 45 day mark also.

I will get back on 9/5 I can check to see what they have. I can tell you from past trips they usually have a mickey head treat pail, mickey and minnie plush themed for halloween. Is there anything particular you are looking for?

I got the mickey heads at home depot - they are paint samples of the colors available - just happen to be in shape of mickey which is cool - i've made a sign for my room door, strings with each person's name in a separate color for each - still working on more ideas - think i'll decorate my pool bag with a lime green mickey on it. I also have Disney window clings and also some Halloween ones as well

Morning everyone----

From Halloween last yr they had Mickey as a ghost pails with popcorn or something in them. Girls have 2 of them but I doubt we will bring them cause they are bulky and split apart easily. AND more importantly I , I mean DH would end up carrying them anyhow.

As for my Window...I have magnets I have made for our cruise in 2009 and they can be used for our window or door as well. I am gonna get mickey home depot lime greens and put a letter on each spelling out my dis name and string it acrossed my window.

A lot less mess it would be if you didn't have to dye them!!! I have 6 shirts today that I need to bleach the mickey head in.

Yep, even though I have suit cases out and partially packed, we've still got a ways to go! But the summer is going fast and we've only got 57 days to go till our trip starts on 9/22 - 10/6. I just hope the construction going on at AoA isn't too dusty or noisy! Between the construction at MK and aoA, it may lose some magic this year.

Thanks Kelly! Those sound perfect! DD will be exactly 18 months so a treat pail and some plush Minnie & mickey are perfect! I wonder if they might have an autograph book too Halloween theme? Really any thing cheap but cute for an 18 month old!
