The Countdown to 2013 - Join me! List Started!

Deciding on airfare/flights.

We can book Delta in September using my dh's FF miles since he has enough for all 5 of us to fly for free but it is not a direct flight from Hartford.

Or I can wait until Feb-ish when Jet Blue has it's flights out (not sure exactly when it will be) & hope that there is a cheap flight (under $100 one way) & do that & get a direct flight from Hartford.

Other then that my kids, dh & I are on the look out or any change that may be on the ground to add to our Disney fund.

We pick up change on the ground also! I used to think DH was silly stopping to pick up a penny on the ground but we have made it a game to see who can find more. Plus it goes right into our Disney jar. Now it is fun just thinking of was to save money for our trips.

We went last September and as soon as we got back we each started buying one $25 Disney gift card each month. Then instead of regular gifts on holidays, birthdays, anniv. etc we started giving each other gifts cards then also. In less then a year we now have $925.00 saved. That is all for spending money while down there. We also have the Disney Visa which we put everything on so those rewards will be used also.

My next step(s) in planning are:

1). coming up with a solid list of Restaurants, quick service and table service, that i'd like to dine in, seperating them into categories by those that are a "must do" and those that aren't. I can make ADR's November 2nd.

2). Deciding which touring plan, guide book or website i'm going to use to help me plan my strategy for touring the parks. During my first and only I used The Unofficial Guide which was useful in helping my family determine which resort would suit our needs and all of the other information that's useful to first-timers. This time I don't think i'll need a guide book as I can get the same useful information from the dis and allears.net that I got out of the guide books. I'm going to subscribe to touringplans, ridemax, or something along those lines since I only need help with my park strategy.

3). In September i'll start buying $50 a month in gift cards which will total $450 by the time of our trip. This will be close to 50% of the money I plan to spend on food and souveniers so I think it's a great start!

4). Staying on the dis so I can read more PTR's, TR's, Dining Reviews, etc. so this upcoming trip can be just as, if not more wonderful than my very first and only trip to the World!!
