All I can say is that if they started a thread about it and it started a round of name calling, must have a hit for nerve for someone.
Look, been there, seen it firsthand, okay? Before I was removed and put into foster care at age 16 and parental rights were terminated, my dad and stepmonster abused the system. I saw them do it, okay? It happens. They would send me in to buy a $.05 pack of gum, get the change, then they'd buy something else with it. They also spent money social security (death benefits) money on stupid crap for themselves rather than what it was intended for (i.e. to take care of me).
I also know someone who had foodstamps and sold them to her neighbor for cash to go buy cigarettes. That was two months ago.
AGAIN, the post was about convincing people to spend money/benefits they need for food or rent on stupid crap about bo that they don't need. It's the same concept as people spending presciption money on a lottery ticket.
It in
no way stated that all bo supporters are welfare-sucking con-artists. If you want to take the joke as such, then so be it. I don't care that you apparently think that way of your fellow democrats and project your thoughts onto a post.
-----------------------
SD, I'm jealous, too. When are you thinking of going?
Tink, I had no idea! I'm sorry you had to go through all that as a child, and I'm also sorry that you constantly have to defend the stupid JOKE. GAH - IT'S A JOKE, LURKERS!!!
Looks like they're getting anxious already about Obama and Iraq:Man, is this going to be fun!!!
It sure is. I'm just gonna pop a big ol' bag of popcorn and munch away for the next four years.
I just read on Michellemalkin that the AG just collapsed and is still receiving treatment....prayers...
He was in the middle of his speech when it happened. And what a sad speech it was - here's an excerpt:
And, to all of you lurkers out there - one of whom seems really concerned about GWB's lack of concern for NOLA --- uhhh, maybe he's had bigger fish to fry like SAVING THE FREE WORLD FROM TERRORISTS!!!!!!! And maybe, just maybe the responsibility of NOLA goes to, perhaps, its MAYOR and its CITIZENS!!!!!
And I know some really fine folks still living in NOLA and helping the others in NOLA who would agree....
What a sad speech. I know it didn't carry over when I quoted, but what a sad, sad speech. I hope the AG is okay.
Even funnier are the people that honestly think that anything would have been measurably better in NOLA after Katrina if Kerry had been President! But, they can at least be happy knowing that we'll have fewer and weaker hurricanes once O gets in office!
Well, that's a relief! (You were on a roll last night!!!)
We just got back from an evening that was all about honoring my Mom for her 42 years of teaching elementary school. Her colleagues praised her profusely. I have to admit that I got tears in my eyes a few time as people were saying such nice things about her. Lots of talk about her way of loving especially the most difficult kids, inspiring her kids to learn in unconventional ways, and how she was never shy about being a person of great faith.
Congratulations again to your mom. What an accomplishment!
What the leftists overlook about Jesus is that he never hesitated to call BS on the crap TPTB were trying to pull.
Yep -that. I don't mind being called Jesusy at all, though honestly, I don't think I'm Jesusy enough. Gotta work on that.

truly horrible. i am very disheartened to hear. how is your SIL doing? what was her reaction to the press ignoring this?
I'm so sorry about this too. I didn't see it the first time around. Where did this happen?
You guys (my fellow conservatives and Jesusy friends) may have discussed it, but I'm playing catch up. So please forgive me if you have. I heard this morning that a new tape was released by the #2 concerning the election and criticism of BO. He called on Muslims to harm "criminal" America. If they are going to start liking the US, shouldn't they be all excited that he was elected and anxious to shake his hand? I thought they were going to be happy, or did I misunderstand what we were told before the election?
I did just read some of what he said. Some of it is absolutely horrible to say about BO. I'm just surprised they weren't happy with the election.
Oooh - do you have a link to this? I'd love to read more.
I'm hoping that BO will wise up and realize that he needs to protect this country first, not enforce his agenda.
oh hi! i mean, ewwwww high....

Every time you say that I crack up. LOL!!!!
and...AND....IT WAS A JOKE!!! maybe they just don't recognize a joke...'cause they voted one into the white house.
BAAAAA!!!!!!! Thanks for the laugh!!!!
MM, have you checked into the 7 for 4 deal for next January-June? It's on Values as well, so you could go very cheaply if need be.
I would love to SD, but with the uncertainty of the Big Three right now, we need to be cautious. Both my dad and my FIL are automotive retirees and we have decided that we need to put more $$ aside just in case they need our help. Many people in my family - inlaws included - all work for either GM or Chrysler - this includes my sister's FIL and my brother's FIL as well, so if they lose their pensions (they are all retired), my brother, sister and I are going to do whatever we can to help them.
Sis is a teacher in the Detroit area - she has seniority, but if people are moving away, she's sure benefits will be taken away. She also has MG (myashtenia gravis - I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and is having severe issues with it right now, so I'm worried she may not be able to work much longer. My brother is a police officer in the Detroit area and he's worried about getting his job cut too.
Sorry for the long explanation, but I think Disney is out of our reach for a while. I'll have to live through your trip report, okay?
Yep. I could go on and on about my job working for Chrysler, but you'll all fall alseep. Let's just say that the management doesn't manage very well....
In regards to my sister in law (which I only brought up due to the excessive racism shown by the other side.) I still stand by my statement that it goes both ways. The media just choses to show one.
Thanks everyone, for your concerns. This happened a few years ago. She was my brother's wife. They're now divorced, but she wanted and begged for it, not him. She now has a metal rod for a leg from the knee down. She limps, but the biggest problem for her has been mentally. She doesn't believe she is the same person anymore. Its truly sad how a few seconds can change your life so quickly.
No one who witnessed it would talk, except for the friends who were with her, so that was no additional information. The cops said they thought it was a local gang who was doing an initiation/shoot. They were and are still of no help. The fact that the papers didn't pick up the story just baffles my mind.
Awful.
You don't have to agree with all of this, but it does make for an interesting read. No matter what happened over the last eight years, I still like and respect President Bush. No (President) one is perfect. Happy Trails Mr. President.
To those here who blame Pres. Bush for everything including the election of Barack Obama, shame on you. Conditions beyond his control led to the election results.
Pres. Bush came into the office as a cocky spoiled son of an ex-pres. September 11 changed him forever. We will never know what kind of president he would have been because that day changed everything. In the early days and months, he was still fairly cocky but the difficulties of war and the burden of the office sobered him up. Reality bites as they say.
When Pres. Bush landed on that carrier, his approval ratings were sky high. People love a winner. The turning point for him and for the war came when the Democrats, realizing that his popularity spelled disaster for them, began sniping about the war, treatment of prisoners and whining that we were in another Vietnam. All this within a year to fourteen months in. Pres. Bush needed their support and they did everything they could to cut him off at the knees, including disparaging our own troops as murderers, rapists, mercenaries. You name it.
So, Pres. Bush didn’t veto a single bill until the last two years of his presidency. Well, thanks to the sniveling cowards in Congress, including those in his own party, he had to lower himself to get the support he needed for OUR troops on the battlefield. He may not have always made the right decisions, but there was never any doubt about who he supported and who he wanted to win in this war.
In the beginning of his presidency, his attempt at bipartisan cooperation led to the No Child Left Behind Act, written by Ted Kennedy. Laura Bush, a librarian and educator, no doubt had a lot to do with Pres. Bush’s desire to do something to fix the problems liberals have created in the education system. By all accounts, this act has not been successful, but again, the educators whined and fought it at every turn. Why, because they were now accountable for the results they were getting in the classroom, when all they want is a ton more money to fund their “progressive and innovative” education experiments with our children.
Pres. Bush has been an honorable man. Maybe not the best man for the job. Maybe unprepared for the realities of a complex world. Maybe too controlled by people more interested in their own careers than in serving this country to the best of their abilities. Maybe too naive and too loyal to those who were given jobs because of their support, but were not competent. But, he has always been gracious. He has done what he felt was right to protect this country. He did not sell it to China, nor sell out our allies.
Pres. Obama is entering office with a similar attitude. He believes the media hype and will come in thinking that he will change the world. But, the world will change him. We don’t know what he will face or what events will shape his presidency. What we do know is that we are all in this together. We all succeed or fail together. President Bush will leave office with little love of the people, both at home and abroad. So be it. But there is a higher power that knows his heart, and that judge will be more forgiving than those judging him so harshly now.
I pray that God will bless him. He deserves his rest. This generation will never understand the enormous sacrifices he has made on their behalf, nor will they appreciate the safety he afforded them after the greatest attack this country ever faced from a foreign enemy.

Thanks for posting. Nice article.
I've posted that it was a joke on two threads now. Methinks some OS just have selective reading.
..but I did venture over to their thread again last night after reading loco's report.
Actually, I think this

is better. They really were going on and on about BO and saying that stuff that loco said: "relations with Barack Obama and lie awake in our beds at night looking at our husbands who just don't measure up to him" (is there a throw-up smile?)and they were on yet
another Palin bash fest.
Okay, everyone hear me out - DON'T GO OVER TO THAT THREAD ANYMORE!! Can't you see that they are just baiting us? It's not worth it. Stay....away..... Stay....away.....
How'd you like that long post? Think I've got the multiquoting down perfectly now.
