Its cold and snow squally here. I haven't been on the DIS for a few days so apparently I've missed stuff. So what have i missed?

Did i miss a warning for the MODs? Wish I'd been included in that 1.

I honestly feel that if i were posting on this thread I would be gone from the DIS. There is so much hostility going on even after the election its just ridiulous. I have left b4 for over a yr and came back to plan my cruise. Well my cruise is over now. So do I go or do I stay?

I'm not sure I'd miss them if I left. Didn't miss them b4. Hmmm

I think we have all been fustrated at one point or another. But we enjoy having you here. Don't go. Look how much fun we are.

WMK warned both threads that we were dangerously close to being shut down a while ago. I just don't want to chance it, KWIM? For some reason - it has been heating back up again. I just wanted to FYI you guys that are new here.

Ok, I have no idea what I missed, but I saw a lot of talk about Jesus.

So, I discovered something interesting....and maybe it applies. But, did y'all know that the absolute center of the Bible (the word of God) is Psalm 118:8 - "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man".

I guess you could say that it's quite literally, the central word of God.

It seems to apply I think. Just a little somein' somein' to start everyone's day (including lurkers) .

I feel for you. A few years ago we got these holders (for lack of a better word). You can wrap the lights around them and they don't tangle. Maybe you can find something like that after Christmas this year? They even have handles on them.

Last year I was 8 months preg going on 9 at the time I wrapped them up (the tree lights), and boy oh boy I can tell! My DH takes care of the outside lights. Those we just bought last year, and they aren't as bad for some reason.

Oh, wait - I know why, because he wrapped them up.


I've decided to buy new . Going to Tarjay now. I'll have to look for those holders.

If I can get out of there spending less than $100 I'll be happy

I like how that happened too. It's like they want us to be ashamed of our beliefs or to appologize for them. I'm not sorry my Bible says certain things are wrong and you disagree.

A long time ago I had to realize that the way Zippa wanted things to be and the way God wants things to be are not always one and the same. It took me a while, but I'm cool with that now.
Not all conservatives are Christians, not by a long shot. And vice versa

OT: Have you heard there is a live-action movie version of the book that is due for release in late 2009? I was reading up on it, and it sounds like it is supposed to be fantastic -very true to the message and vibe of the book.

You know, truly, the political threads aren't really all that bad....

I was just on the theme parks thread going because so many are furious that the MK doesn't have it's Christmas tree up yet. Someone actually asked about an attorney that would sue Disney for refunds for everyone that's already attended a MVMCP this year.

ETA: That reminds me of when I first joined the DIS, back before I even haunted the CB. I'd lurk on threads where people from varying POVs got absolutely unhinged about stuff like refillable mugs, rehabs done on short notice, park hours, and such. Funniest stuff ever.

That's just it. Its not just the community board. It seems like its all over. The Mods do their job selectively, and I'm not seeing the happy place i joined 5 yrs ago.

Thank God for that. It's a cold cold world outside of this thread. I saw where our very own Charade started a seemingly harmless thread and the OS are all over it calling us losers and crap like that..... they're sore winners. I could barely hold my tongue reading it but I didn't post anything- I'd prolly get in alot more trouble if I did.

They don't seem to just talk about it. I went over there and all they did was get nasty. They don't even address why he is not at least talking about changes he promised, but is hiring people that don't necessarily constitute change. There never seems to have a good conversation about BO's own stated plans or statements of people he has hired. All they do is say we are spreading fear. How is it spreading fear to ask why he doesn't seem to be changing? How does that signify we want him to fail? I keep hoping and praying I'm wrong in what I think will happen with him in office, but I haven't seen anything that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about the whole thing.

Here's a happy thought: Anyone taking advantage of the stay 4 nights get 3 free deal? I've never stayed at a Value, but have heard so much good about Pop. I'm thinking about it… It's really tempting… I mean, don't we all have to do our part to get WDW through this hard economic time?

I do like staying at mods, but we've stayed at Pop three times and enjoyed it each time. We especialy like the 50's bldgs. Food court is good. Bus service has been top notch each time (with the exception of getting back to the resort after Spectro). Rooms are just big enough; good mousekeeping. Really, what's not to like?

I'm trying my darndest to talk DW into us taking the kids down for a week in March. I'm going to aim a tad higher than Pop though.

I know what you mean about being hugely pregnant at that time. I was 9 months and HUGE, all belly. I didn't decorate anything. I'm with ya on that one.

wonderlanne's sad housekeeping confession: i still have xmas decor in the house from last year. so i don't have to do much this year but blow the dust off.

(HEY!!! why not xmas ALL year...it's a happy, happy time, i say!)
