the headmount, and no more room in the family room. I am NOT moving dead fish and animals into the living room! I support hunting, I back hunters, I fight for their rights, but the living room is crossing the line! :) Mind you, my telling him not to get a big one wasn't even heard as he was collecting his gear.

:scared: :faint:

Ten days, not two weeks! He'll be gone this weekend through to the next weekend. He'll be back late LATE Sunday night, earlier in the day if everyone at camp gets lucky this year.

I haven't read JF's book, but we have seen him in concert!

We both can't stand rabbit. I made it decades ago. The sauce I made it in was great. The rabbit? ewwwww. Turned us off so much he won't hunt for it now. My very favorite was when he went boar hunting. OMG that was great meat! Remember when pork chops had flavor? Tasted like pork from the seventies, not the other white meat. I didn't expect to like it, let alone LOVE it!

Oh I don't think I like you anymore:P

We had tickets to a concert but hten he got game sho and the concert got canceled. He STILL has not been back this way.

OK 10 days. My math is no good:rotfl:

Anyway my dad never actually HUNTED for rabbit. It was always deetr, but if he didn't feel like coming home empty handed then rabbit was what he shot. They liked to tromp through the Poconos for their hunting trips and there is no actual rabbit but there's so many of them they don't care if you shoot them or not.

Funny story with that ring. We were Christmas shopping with an almost eight year old and a seventh month old. DH HATES malls. He was wandering aimlessly and it was making me angry. I turned around and said, DO you have any idea what you are looking for? You're driving me crazy! He wasn't there... he had walked right into Zales and was looking at rings. I wanted to kick myself.

He spent two hours in that store with me insisting that I pick out what I wanted, don't worry about the cost, I was worth it. *swoon*
Awwwwww!

OMG:lmao: :lmao: You've been saving that one for the right time, haven't you? LOL
No, but when she said 'other white meat' it popped into my head and I looked for it.

:lmao: Maybe he has friends?

This summer? Why not do it at Christmas? When DH had my ring made 5 years ago he stuck it on the tree in a little Christmas tree and gave it to me that way.
He had mine melted down and bought some diamonds (he got them at cost from a jeweler). He designed it and had it made.
My old one looked like this:

This is my new one:

Well, he is working to buy a nice ring, plus, he is planning on proposing at some pirate dinner show in Orlando. I don't know what show it is...

Oh, a pirate show. :rotfl: Not in front of a twinkling Christmas tree in front of a roaring fire with cups of hot chocolate and marshmallows?

Holy geez, what's wrong with me?! I sound like some kind of romantic! :scared1:

Hi everyone..how the heck are ya all doing. I have been staying away from everything political for awhile even have not been watching the news. Everything Obama was making me crazy so I am taking a break. Just wanted to let ya know that I did not just come and join this thread than after the elections split.

Dh told me he heard on the news about Hillary and Sec. of state position offered. I think she would do a good position in that position. I do like condoleezza Rice but she will soon be out of there and with all the yahoos running everything I would like to see Hillary in that position.

Hope your all well. I will be here for awhile tonight and than I will be watching TV. Also Christmas shopping on line. I just bought myself a $300 Capresso coffee machine  :rotfl2: it grinds the beans right before it brews....all my resarch has shown 5 stars ...will see. I'll let ya know :thumbsup2

If she can be bipartisan and not shut out the Republicans...:confused3

I finally started some Christmas shopping. eBay is a wonderful thing. :rotfl:

Just heard on the local news tonite that BO had a meeting with Bill Richardson our pathetic excuse for a governor:sad2: and I have to admit I would much rather see Hillary in that position than him. Just think 70's guy, hairy chest, shirt unbuttoned, lots of gold chains. I just cannot stomach him:sick: .

On another note good luck to all the hunters. My DH goes the first week in December and I hope with all my heart and soul that he doesn't get anything:headache: . I have a freezer full of antelope, elk, and oryx (really really good btw). I know I'm a horrible wife for wishing this on him but it's true:rotfl: . Go have fun but please don't shoot anything, I have no more room!!

I honestly have no idea if he likes Disney. His cousin is a Disney FANATIC like me so at least there seems to be a Disney gene in the family.:lmao: Maybe we can just ya'll to swap emails? He will be visiting here soon so we will come up with a plan.....

BTW, Donald Duck is my 2 1/2 YO DD's favorite character! She loves him and wouldn't leave him alone when she say him at Epcot. It was so cute.

The Disney gene is a good thing, indeed. ;) Are you in Virginia as well? I.E. is he from VA? If he's ever been to Williamsburg/Jamestown, that's my old stomping grounds. Ah, the life of a college and grad student surrounded by Colonial Reenactors walking around in hoop skirts for women, and powdered wigs, tights and tri-cornered hats for men. :rotfl: You have admittedly intrigued me with this guy. The tall factor doesn't hurt. All the guys around here are shrimps! I'm watching Shrek right now, and the guys here are seriously Lord Fardquad short! :rotfl:

Ya'll know anyone else? My 27 yo SIL needs a hubby. ;) She's never married, no kids (never been with anyone, if you know what I mean), very strong Christian, dad is a chaplain in the Army. She's currently in VA.
Anybody? :rotfl:

What part of VA is she in? Granted though, since I'm still single, I warn you there is not an overabundance of decent single Christian guys around. If she's in another part of the state, I can ask my friends if they know anyone. ;)

He's gone till two Sunday's from now. He even came home from work early which NEVER happens; he's usually an hour or so late! If you've seen Escanaba in Da Moonlight you'll understand - its his Christmas with guns!

I already told him not to get a big one.. WHY? No money to pay for the headmount, and no more room in the family room. I am NOT moving dead fish and animals into the living room! I support hunting, I back hunters, I fight for their rights, but the living room is crossing the line! :) Mind you, my telling him not to get a big one wasn't even heard as he was collecting his gear.

I also support the right to own guns and hunt but... I'm an animal lover at heart. A guy I knew from church was a big hunter, and anytime he'd talk about deer hunting, I'd think "Bambi!" :sad1: We actually had a deer in our yard 2 mornings ago! I heard a thud outside my window, and then my mom came running in and said "There's a deer in the backyard!" We are nowhere near woods, so we figure he had to have traveled at least about 5 miles to get to our house. He chilled out in the yard looking in our windows for awhile, then mosied across the street, stood next to and stared down at our neighbor's Obama-Biden sign for about 5 minutes. :rotfl2: Then he wandered down the sidewalk. Strangest thing I've ever seen.

This is my new one:
pZALE1-3194366v300x300.jpg

Beautiful! I have only seen such bling in my dreams. :lmao:

 :scared:

 Now that is a little disconcerting. :rotfl:

I'm impressed. I'm usually done by now but this year I have nothing yet:confused3 . I've got to get busy!!

Tina

Yeah I've learned since starting work at Target that I can no longer shop during the traditional shopping season. Can't deal with it and then go back to work. Have to be done early or most of the way done. I still haven't ordered Christmas cards. I gotta get rocking on that 1.

OMG!! I finally talked to my MIL. She tried really hard to be gracious....barely talked about the election....IT WAS MUCH WORSE!!! She wants DH and I to go to the inauguration:scared1: I couldn't believe it but, yet I shouldn't be surprised. She has invitations to one of the balls. She said, she knows I'm not a democrat (that's an understatement) but, "it's a historical occaision." :scared: She's sure DH wants to go. I know he could care less..and I'd rather give have a "do-it-yourself" root canal...while, having my toenails pulled out...one by one. I told her we had vacation plans the week before...it would be hard to be gone that long. This is sad but, I can't and won't go. The inauguration is not something I can celebrate. I hate hurting her feelings but, geesh....she should know better.

**edited to add** I might could stomach the party but, the swearing-in..... That would be more than my conservative heart could bear.:sad1:

Ugh. Sorry you have to deal with this TL. I'd put my foot down. And if he for some reason insists on going, wouldn't the museums be open? Heck, I'd go and do that if I was stuck up there. My favorites are the Museum of American History, Museum of Natural History, and the National Museum of the American Indian. The latter is amazing if you've never been there. One of my professors in college helped a little with it; she was an American Indian activist/advocate. There's more interesting things in those museums than there is in another "Yes we can" speech, IMO. It is definitely historic, as it would have been if Hillary won or Sarah won VP. But I wouldn't have gone to an inauguration for Hillary either. I appreciate and respect the importance of the moment, but I'd rather give the "spot" to someone who actually likes the man.

Ah, Richardson. Don't a lot of the PUMAs call him Judas? He is a pain in the rear end, IMO. And frankly I really hope Hillary will be Secretary of State. I would feel a lot safer with her in that role than I would with John "Who among us does not love NASCAR?" Kerry ( :rotfl2: ) or Richardson. I don't agree with her on much of anything, but she was smart enough to know you don't sit down with dangerous leaders and countries without pre-conditions. I'm hopeful she could talk some sense into Obama if she were in that role.

She's in Yorktown. Know anyone?:rotfl:

Hey, maybe your new 6 ft lawyer soon-to-be boyfriend will buy you a bling. :lmao: I was married for almost four years before I got that bling.

Exactly. I don't agree with the woman on anyting but someone with a bit of knowledge has got to come into this circus and help this guy figure out what the heck he is doing. I think Hillary will stand up to him, Richardson will just be his puppet.
