No, not yet... but I'll go on record to say that he will. Clerks all over the state are looking for more votes for him and they only have to find a few hundred more and he'll be in like flint. And then there'll be the state-wide recount that'll pop up some more for Franken. When I saw Coleman's lead after election night, I knew what was coming. On top of that, the Minn SOS was voted into office with the help and backing of MoveOn, so Coleman can forget about any rulings that will favor him.

WTH happened to all the polls i saw B4 the election that siad Franken didn't have a shot in you know what?

Jeepers, creepers guys
You type so much
Anyways, I am a Disney CM and would LOVE to meet anyone when they come down
Currently, I work days and can meet up for a quick snack

Soarin' you are going to have so much fun as a CP
I cant wait to meet you
I can show you all around property control and all kinds of things
Heck, I can even have you over for homemade food

:thumbsup2 Ditto!!! I'm so excited!! Where do you work in the parks? I'm being put in Quick Service Food and Beverage but won't know my location till I get down there on 1/21/09.

good grief...not only did I miss like the last 20 or so pages of the last thread, I wake up and see there's a new one and it's nearly 40 pages in already!!!

I can't remember if I posted or not, but Jacob didn't make it home on Tuesday. Monday he had ALOT of things done and they took their toll on him, and he had a "brady" episode, which means his heart rate dropped more than 50% below normal, and he stopped breathing for more than 20 seconds. The nurses had to pick him up and stimulate him to get him started breathing again. The doctor that morning had said she felt it would be better to hold off another day or two before discharging him. At first I was a little ticked but in hindsight I'm so thankful. Had I taken him home or even roomed in with him that night he would have died while in my care because he wouldn't have been on the monitors that went into alarm when he stopped breathing.

Because of that, he's on a 5 day "countdown" where he has to go 5 days without another episode before they will consider discharging him again. He's got 3 days down so far and he's in the midst of day 4 right now. We're looking at Sunday night rooming in and Monday discharge now.

Since he had not had any episodes prior to this one, they are pretty sure it was just stress from having to much done to him in such a short time. He got a HepB shot, circumcision, tylenol, change in his milk fortification, new bottle to feed from, and increase in breastfeeding (he's only on breastmilk but getting it from a bottle for 5-6 feeds per day-we went to 3), all in the course of just a few hours.

I think of all the things that any new mother fears, and having him stop breathing is probably my worst one, because he could do that when I'm not there. I'm not pushing anymore to get him home, I'll just bide my time and let him get stronger first...besides, Tuesday is my 1st wedding anniversary, so we'll have something else to celebrate :)

 I hope he comes home soon and I'm thankful that things worked out as they had so that he was still on the monitors when he had the episode. Everything works for a reason.

A while back Glenn Beck talked about the left and abortion. He read some quotes from an interview with Dr. Peter Singer, who holds the chair of Bioethics at Princeton University. Dr. Singer said that Roe vs. Wade was too restrictive. Now remember that this guy heads up the Bioethics dept. at Princeton. Dr. Singer believes that parents should be able to abort their babies even AFTER they are born and believes it could be as late as the age of 2!

it is so sad that a person could feel this way about a child, be they born or unborn.:sad2:

Yeah, I've heard of this guy b4. Very creepy person all the way around to say the Roe v Wade is too restricticve and that murdering your 2 yr. old is just fine.

Does your baby cry too much? Eat too much. Cost too much. You have 2 years to change your mind. :sad2:

You guys will have to forgive me, as my typing and spelling skills stink
I am also not very eloquent on paper.....

I know we are very disappointed the BO is now our president-elect
Some of the posters are demeaning that fact by saying he is not my President
Like it or not, America voted and he got the most votes
We need to be respectful of the office of the President
By dismissing BO we are lowering ourselves to their slimmy tactics
We should show them how gracious we are
We need to bring them UP to our level
To do other wise makes us just as bad as them
I hope you guys dont hate me

WOW... so much talking, so little time to read and post!

GROW JACOB GROW!

Someone needs to slap that teacher in that video. How horrible!

Riverside is nice! I've now stayed at all the mods and it was our favorite. The restaurant there is great! DS and I ate there a few times when it was raining so hard we decided to eat first, then go to the parks. Food court is also good, and I thought much better than the other mod food courts, except for maybe CSR. But CSR's food court costs a lot more.

Very clean, beautiful grounds. We were there in the summer and it was still gorgeous! The boat to DTD is also a plus that only PORS and POFQ have.

We never had any bus problems, and the mousekeeping was good.

I'm avoiding a few threads, quite a few threads out on the CB. Even the titles disgust me.

If you have any questions, ask away! We've been homeschooling for 14 years. :)
I was homeschooled from 1st-9th grade and began attending school my 10th grade year. I became very unhappy being homeschooled around 7th grade. I was relieved when my parents quit.

I have questions. My son isn't anywhere near ready for school (not for another 4 years!) but how would you get started? Is it pricey?

I can't imagine doing it to an unborn child, nonetheless a two year old. :scared1:

I will respect the office but I can not agree with his ideals. I won't succomb to ODS but nor will I play sweetkissyface with the left. If we're going to take back the party we can't keep trying to make them like us. That's what cost us this election.

Nobody here hates you :) I think most people who have been regulars on this thread feel much the same way. I will respect my president and support him in every way that I can, as long as it does not require me to compromise my beliefs and convictions. That is my job as an American.

However, if (when) he screws up, I have no hesitations to call him out on it either, but there are plenty of ways to voice opposition without being crude or disrespectful. America voted him in, and they (I say THEY because I am not part of that group) will soon see just what they voted for, and I believe he will be a one-term president.

During those 4 years to come where people realize they were sold a product that had a pretty package but an empty box, I'll be doing everything I can to help and prepare the only true conservative that was part of the election this year-Sarah Palin.

Blestmom---hey do you know of any address or email address where we can send her letters or emails? I'd love to let her know that there were alot of us here in the lower 48 who love her and want to offer her our support.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

You are going through so much. I am so thankful that Jacob was where he needed to be when he had the episode. My prayer for him is that he grows stronger and stronger, and that he is where he needs to be in each situation. Hopefully, that will be home very soon.

And I pray for you for strength...physically and emotionally...though all this. I wish I was there to help in person, and lend you support. Just know I am keeping all of you in my prayers.

oh...about Sarah Palin...

I truly believe that the press and the "rogue" McCain staffers who have been so quick to throw her under the bus are only doing so because she embodies a truth and courage and strong convictions that they are truly afraid of. She has a proven track record of taking the trash out, and the ones who have been so quick to try and destroy her know that when she comes into a position of power over them, they'll be thrown out with the rest of the garbage. She intimidates them because she speaks what they know is true.

Kind of like the popular kids in high school. They have to trash the other kids to try and make themselves look better, when the other kids were most often the ones with real substance :)

I love Sarah Palin. She is the only reason I voted for the Republican ticket. The ONLY reason.

ITA,

As for me I'm choosing to be nitpicky. I need more time getting used to this president Obama thing, And I have till jan. 20th to do it. Until then George W. is STILL my President.

:thumbsup2 I agree. Though, really, I'm going to have a hard time saying "President Obama." It just sounds funny.:rolleyes1

Actually all the polls have shown this race very, very close.
Last time I looked Franken was now only 238 votes away from Coleman. Supposedly some little town tallied the votes up for Franken and instead of 124 votes they only put in 24 votes. They found the mistake when they rechecked it over. :rolleyes1 Now Franken is closer yet.

God help us all is Franken gets his butt into the Senate :headache:

Yeah, it's certainly not right for every family. But in our case, it's been wonderful. I do have to say, though, Alaska is a very homeschool friendly state. So my kids have lots of friends and activities. I'm glad things worked out well for you. :)

He makes it hard for us to like him. He is so full of himself.

At his press conference today he even made a slam at Nancy Reagan:

when asked if he’s talked to any former presidents seeking advice, Obama said he’s spoken to “all of them.” Then he corrected himself: he meant all of the living ones.

“I didn’t want to get into any Nancy Reagan thing about doing séances,” Obama quipped, drawing laughs from the press.

He is my President and I will respect the office, but he acts like an immature buffoon and needs to remember what office he was elected to and start acting like he belongs there.

It will be easier treating him with respect when he starts showing some respect to the office and to all of us that may disagree with him on some issues.

Yes, I do. Send me a PM and I'll get it to you. Also, in case anyone here hasn't already seen it...

As many of you know, I live in Wasilla, Alaska, and know Governor Palin's family. I am going to put together a scrapbook for her letting her know how much we appreciated all she did and went through, and what her stand on the issues meant to us.

I was thinking, if any of you want to send a message, I will include it, and you know that your words will actually get put in her hands.

Send me a PM if you are interested...

OH he'd better wise up b4 he takes office. Shouldn't matter what party he's from a bit of respect would be nice. I bet he thought he was very funny.
