That's absolutely ridiculous. It was a parody, not threatening in any way, and ONLY offensive to those who voted for 0.

I didn't hear that, but if it is true, he is a man to admire and one that would be hard to find. I also think history will treat him kindly.

I know the military is doing a wonderful job defeating Al-Qaeda. I just wish other people would realize it.

:thumbsup2

If it's offensive to them it's not allowed.

Ridiculous! But what can you do. :confused3 There are a few BO supporters around here with some nasty siggies, I think I'll go take a look and see if they still have theirs.;)

I've got to run, but remember the other day at the RGA conference in Miami how an "unnamed governor considering a 2012 run" was trashing Sarah? I was very suspicious at the time that it was Governor Pawlenty, McCain's would-be running mate. It looks like I was right. So not only does he have the personality of a house plant IMO, he's a brat too and seemingly not a conservative. Read this:

"The “Republican governor eyeing a presidential run in 2012” appears to be Minnesota’s Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty used his time at yesterday’s roundtable discussion to cast himself as the “modern” Republican while casting aspersions on the traditional conservative message, calling for outreach to the “new demographics,” deriding the GOP for allegedly being 15 years behind in the use of the Internet, and calling for the party not to be led by “a crank.” Pawlenty appears to have John McCain’s penchant for attacking conservatives rather than those in the other party.

Pawlenty in Miami was publicly angry, agitated, and even cranky, possibly because he found himself at odds with the far more conservative tone of every other speaker here. Hundreds of RGA members, who paid thousands of dollars to attend this Conference, wildly applauded “red meat” conservative pronouncements by speakers and not the more moderate and conservative-jabbing words by Pawlenty. And then there’s his “Palin problem,” real or imagined, that hit the fan yesterday in front of the national media, possibly upon the insistence of Pawlenty himself, as the above-reported comments to CNN by an anonymous presidential aspirant indicate."

I agree about needing to use the internet better, but I'm really beginning to believe my suspicions that I have long held about this guy were correct.

In other words, he's saying only stupid people go into the military. What a *******!

A lot of people I know in the military (and have been since they were straight out of high schoo)l are a heck of a lot smarter than some people I know with college degrees! As far as I'm concerned, he can get a life. Maybe he can buy a clue with his book profits.

It makes the left feel good about themselves to think that only people with not other choice go into the military. That way they can fool themselves into thinking it couldn't be because these people actually want to serve their country.

They don't realize that most officers these days have graduate degrees, and there are more than a few NCOs with bachelors degrees. My favorite roommate when I was in the Army had a degree (as a PFC) and his wife was an MD. He didn't have to be in the Army but chose otherwise.

One of my HS classmates that I was in JROTC with went to the Naval Academy, served as an artillery officer in the Marine Corps, got himself sent to Law School and is now a JAG Colonel. Too bad he couldn't get a real job

zactlee! reminds me of something my father said the other day. i had gone off on some tangent about taxes and how the next person in the whitehouse was going to eliminate the desire for anybody to succeed....work harder/gain more success/earn more money/have money taken away...that whole cycle. and then i said something like, "what a dummy". my father was being light, but when you think about it, it isn't all that funny these days...he said, "careful, the cia is listening."

:scared1:

I think it was meant to be. While I was looking at the handags (next to where the drawing was held) I was thinking.."IF" I win that bag....I'm giving it to her. I think that's why I won it. She AND her husband are working two jobs (each). They've just had a lot of bad luck over the last year. I can't wait to see her face!:goodvibes

I don't think that O will want to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory". To be the president that presided over the loss of Iraq would be a legacy indeed. I am also guessing that a lot of the protective policies that are contained in the Patriot Act will somehow continue, because after he is privy to all of the daily intelligence briefings that President has been dealing with, he will see that there is no choice but to act responsibly so we are protected. Somehow, I am guessing that those on the far left will 'understand' because its obama.

I know my mom voted for Obama based mainly on the belief that he is going to immediately end the war in Iraq. When that doesn't happen, I think she'll be the first to defend him anyway. :sad2:

I get so frustrated at people who make demeaning statements about our military. I have the utmost respect for them, and their families. What is really amazing, is that these brave men and women sacrifice so much to protect the rights of people who make those demeaning comments. They are truly honorable people...

Speaking of President Bush, I heard Glen Beck talking about the meeting that he had with the president last year at the White House. He was allowed to talk about his "impression" but no notes, tapes, no quotes about exactly what was said. His concern was that the president wasn't doing enough to defend himself. Well a year has gone by and the NYT broke the story of various special ops forays into various countries, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, etc that we have been engaged in since the beginning of the war on terror. Beck said, "now that the story is out, I can comment on it." He wouldn't repeat the numbers, but he said that the numbers of Al Qaeda that we have killed are STAGGERING. He also said that President Bush shared information with them that could have vindicated him off all of the reckless charges that the left has made, but he (Bush) feels that for whatever reason, it isn't the time. He feels that the country is of prime importance and he is willing to be hated because we came 'that close to anialation" He feels that history will ultimately treat him kindly. Did anyone else here that?

I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. I think Bush is a man of integrity. No, not perfect, bu I think he has had to endure a lot.

I think Bush will be vindicated by history. Is he perfect? No. But I tell ya what, I'd like to meet him and shake his hand. :)

I'm sure she'll enjoy the new purse. What's it look like?
I wouldn't know Coach from Caboodles.

How cool is that!!! And doing this for your ex-DIL, pretty impressive I must say....you really need to stop it, you'll ruin your reputation as a selfish, mean-spirited conservative...;)

I hope you get to tell her this story - it's as if Someone Else was wanting to encourage her, too.
