Thank you for the pixie dust geffric. I know what a tutu is, just thought that maybe you had gotten it mixed up with a mumu since they sort of sound the same lol.
Celebrating the end of school and good report cards-sounds like a fun celebration-what did you end up doing?
Where is everyone tonight?

Good morning coffee house... having my first cup right now...not Kona(I'll have to go online and order some, its been awhile) but it will do.

Chell, I don't drink coffee either and we have lots of coke.

Binny anyone can join this board, as NC Beast has said, just keep this room nice and clean.

Geffric, he puts ice on his knee, takes warm baths, and is on a bunch of medication. My daughter is now sick with a cold so I have a sick house
:( . I guess I should drink alot of liquids and start myself on some meds. so that I don't get sick next.

Welcome Chell and Binny!! We're glad to have you join us.

Mommytotwo, I'm glad to hear the good prognosis for DH knee. Keep us posted.

Have a safe trip Binny.

Chocolate dessert, lemon pound cake, and key lime pie all sound yummy, but I'll take the chocolate dessert. Gotta love chocolate.

Is anyone being affected by the federal holiday of the post office and such being closed at a last minute type notice? We are waiting for my husband's paintball gun to arrive in the mail, so that means it's another day of waiting. He can't play with it now, but wants to see it.

Thanks NC Beast! Tonight I think I want a nice cold milkshake or a frozen drink. :p

Chocolate Desert, shake, pie or pudding? Ready to serve is up. What's your preference Mommytotwo?

In answer to your question, all the post office's are closed due to the National Holiday. The carriers are all off.

A chocolate shake sounds yummy! Thanks!

Oh boy, you don't know how happy you have made me by asking about my bands. :teeth: I will try to keep it short. The picture in my avatar was taken in Winston last fall at a matchbox twenty concert. It is the lead singer, Rob Thomas - who just won a songwriting award last night. Their opening band was The Push Stars, who I had never heard of until matchbox announced they would be opening for some of the fall dates. Two nights before Winston I also saw matchbox in Greenville and that was my first time seeing The Push Stars. They blew me away! I couldn't believe how awesome they were. I'm always so picky about live music, but they were amazing. Not only is their music amazing, they are a great guys as well.

Now I have seen The Push Stars 8 times - the most I have ever seen any band live - just since last September. The picture in my siggy was taken in Atlanta in a very tiny club. I decided to use it since it captured one of my "Dan moments".

I have so much more I could tell. Let me know if you are interested.

Oh no, I don't play in a band. I have no musical talent at all. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to play something, but I don't think I am very good at keeping a beat. I just have lots of love and support for my favorite band.

The Push Stars are my absolute favorite. Not only do I enjoy their music I also enjoy talking with them and getting to know more about them. They have really helped boost my self confidence and have helped me to come out of my "shell". I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to tell them that.

The first two times I saw them I knew they were meeting people and signing autographs after the show, but I was way too chicken to go up to meet them and let them know how much I enjoyed their show. In April they came to Asheville opening for another band and I just had to see them again. A friend of mine made us some shirts to wear to the show. Before the show the bass player came up to me (when my friend had left me all alone - I don't like to be alone in crowds) and told me how cool he thought the shirts were. We chatted for a bit and I was very impressed and very relaxed. I'm just not good at meeting new people. But something about Dan really put me at ease. Then after the show we met the other two guys and they did the same.

The next weekend they were in Virginia, so I drove up there to see them on their first headlining show of the tour. They remembered me from Asheville and were impressed that I would drive so far to see them.

Shortly after that show they released more tour dates and there were 3 dates in a row that were close enough for me to go to. So I took some of my vacation time, which I am so very grateful for, and took off to see them. This was the first time I had ever done anything like this. But it was so much fun. I about died when we arrived at the first hotel and saw that they were staying there. I was afraid they would think we were stalking them or something. It was a complete coincidence. As soon as I got out of the car I told Chris, the lead singer, that I had reservations already so he wouldn't think we just stopped there because we saw them. The thing that really impressed me was when he gave me a hug and called me by my name. It had been more than a month since I had last seen them and I was so shocked that he would remember my name, especially since they had been touring so heavily and meeting so many people. After the show that night he looked at me funny and asked if I had my hair cut since Virginia. About two weeks earlier I had all my hair cut off and told him about it and why I did it. It just really touched me that he remembered my name and that he pays attention to details. They really do appreciate their fans and that makes me love 'em even more.

Now if there was just something I could do to help them get their big break!

And can you believe I have even more than that to say about them? See I could go on and on and on....
:teeth:

Thanks mommytotwo! They do and that is what makes it all worth it. About two weeks ago I decided to drive up to Boston to see them and they were as happy to see me as I was to see them.

Hello mommytotwo,

How are things going? How's your DH's knee? Hopefully everyone is feeling better.

Have a Coke with me if your like.

Chell, care for another milkshake? I'm curious about what made you want to cut all your hair off. However, if you don't want to talk about it I'll understand.

I'm up a little early this morning. Trouble sleeping. :jumping1:
