The Chrysler Problem that STILL won't go away!

I am sorry to bore you all with this on going dilemma of my 300 M and its wheels which were stolen at Scully Motors, the dealership. The owner repaired and replaced the wheels without my authorization or a written estimate AND without allowing my insurance adjuster to inspect the theft. I have made it clear to him that I do not want this to be a claim on my insurance despite his offer to cover my $500 deductable (insurance fraud if I agreed to that). He has not filed with his insurance company because if he had they would have contacted my insurance company to at least subrogate. This weekend I received a bill for $3690!! It was not itemized and it warned me that interest is accruing. Prior to this I called the Dept of Motor Vehicles, The Dept. of Consumer Protection, Customer Service for Chrysler. Today, I responded to the demand for payment with a well written but no thank you letter and I sent that letter as well as a detailed explanation of events to my insurance company, my lawyer and again Chrysler. Any more ideas!!! Also, he called me once at work to collect.

I would think Chrysler, as a corporation, would be very interested in a dealership that make repairs of this type without authorization.

Just what I would do. Call the dealership and tell them you are calling the news channels to investigate, also tell them you are contacting your states attorney general office and then do it. Make sure you have documentation of everything. Let them know you have already conntacted Chrysler. Not that they will do anything...I have a Caravan that after 3 days of ownership (brand new car) had warning lights going off for things I don't even have the car. When I expressed my total dissatifaction, I basically got laughed at by the dealership. What made it worse was we paid in cash for the car...and after less then 1 week I totally hated it. I contacted Chrysler 3 times on what I felt was bad service at the dealership and never heard a word from them.

Whenever I take my car in there for normal maint. they are always begging for good reviews on the customer service survey that they send out..."this is how we get our bonuses."

Good luck, I will never buy another car from them after this.

Hi Nancy, I did call the Attorney General's office Dept of Consumer Protection. The woman there told me that i was correct and as long as I had my car, walk away from the problem and don't pay. We have had a perfect credit rating all of our lives so I am not going to give in for fear that he could ruin it. I like your idea of calling the news channel. I may call our local paper as well. They used to have a consumer help column.

Good for you Dawn I would never buy a Chrysler for alot of those reasons there are a few other companies I won't deal with for stuuf like that to Hyundai being one of them. Hope it all works out for you .

The owner is on vacation so I called the service manager and my salesman who have been wonderful through this whole thing. I was told to ignore the bill, its been taken care of. That it was a mistake that I even got one. I HOPE SO!! They told me that they liked me as a customer and want me to contine to use the service dept. I have always been happy with sales and service but I told the manager that I am afraid if I bring my car back, the owner will steal the wheels off of my car!
