Good morning, hyenas!
Foggy, WOW! I hope this burns off soon, because it is damp and dark.

Yeah, this morning the kids piled into my warm bed as I exited to shower.

Then once I coaxed them into dressing and getting downstairs for breakfast, DS4 got a piece of cereal stuck in the back of his throat and urped on the table, then came and stood next to me in the kitchen (I was making the boys' lunch), gagging until I picked him up and threw his head into the sink.

I gave him some water until he stopped gagging. Then I told him to go clean up his mess at the table, and he said, "Noooo, Mama! Dat's ucky!"

At least I've got him to the point that he cleans up his own poopy pull-ups now. DH was still changing them (despite the fact that I told him DS can do it all himself now.) He got on me yesterday, saying "I've already done one tonight" and I said, "And you shouldn't have done that! It's his refusal to use the potty, and his responsibility to clean up."

So now Daddy's gettin' with the program, too, much to DS' dismay.

OK, I printed off the pumpkin bar recipe (thank you, Melody!!!) and am off to make a very large batch. (I'm going to use a whole can of pumpkin, which I think means 3.5 times the recipe, WOOHOO!!!)

Gee, I hope we like these...

Gosh, 4 eggs per batch? That's going to use up 14 eggs!

Hmmmm... OK, pumpkin bars are in the oven and about halfway through the baking process.

Turns out one large can of pumpkin is 7 half-cup servings, so it is actually not quite two batches. I went ahead and made it as if it were two full batches, so we'll see how they turn out. (This is the kind of thing that always trips me up in my cooking. If I can follow a recipe, it works out great; any kind of deviation, I usually screw it up!)

Oh, and an 11 x 15 pan? I know 9 x 13 is a rectangular cake pan. I am hoping 11 x 15 is a cookie sheet, because that's what I used. The batch covered two cookie sheets nicely, so hopefully I didn't mess THAT up.

So... Can you tell I've never made bar cookies before?

I was mixing up the large batch. The bowl was a tad full, so of course I spattered. Yeahhhh, all over the top I'm wearing. I put on a nicer top this morning, thinking I'd wear it tonight to the GNO. Now it's spattered with pumpkin bar mix.

Pretty lucky that it's a "tobacco" color (slightly darker pumpkin), huh?

OK, time was up, so I went to pull them out. Each batch was looking darker brown around the edges, but raised in the center! I hadn't expected that, I hope that's normal!

I used to toothpick test (no idea if that even applies to cookie bars) and it seems OK... or at least wasn't gooey in the center.

So I'll let them cool and frost them later, after I pick up DS4 and get him down for nap. Can't wait to try one! They smell GREAT!

So here's my dilema today...toilet paper. Remember the other night when I ran out of TP and quickly substituted boxes of Kleenex. Well I have discovered that I really like kleenex better than TP. It is much thicker, softer and I like the kind with lotion in it. So do I now go buy TP or do I continue to just buy boxes of Puffs Plus with lotion? Will people that come to my house think I'm nuts? Who says you have to have TP on a roll?

It is much thicker, softer and I like the kind with lotion in it. So do I now go buy TP or do I continue to just buy boxes of Puffs Plus with lotion? Will people that come to my house think I'm nuts? Who says you have to have TP on a roll?

The only problem I see, since it's thicker than your typical TP, would it be an issue with your septic?

I know there are supply companies for public restrooms with individual sheets that come out of a dispenser instead of on the roll. No reason TP must be on a roll

I forget to tell visitors that the TP roll is in the tissue box (sitting on the tank) , this makes the alluring dangling TP kitty proofed!

My sis always forgets, rummages thru my bathroom closet and puts a roll on the holder. "I see you were out"

Kleenex is an enjoyable substitute but you do need old fashioned TP for those umm tough times....when lotion isnt enough. Keep both by the toilet and you've got both ends covered. Oh now I just cracked myself up

Well since no one was around I had to make a decision all by myself. TP was on sale at Freddie's so I got 24 rolls. Personally I prefer the Puffs Plus and think I will keep a box near the toilet just for myself. However, I got to thinking that might freak certain people out...namely my DD. It's amazing how many situations I find myself in and I take the normal, safe route just because of her. I guess I have some compassion in me for a 16yo girl with a fruity mother! Can you imagine what I'll be like in a couple of years when she's gone? Somehow I doubt if DS will be as appalled at my behavior as she is.

Hello Hyenas,

Alison- you need to buy TP. Kleenex is not good for toilets (I believe it clogs easily).

Alex- I hope the pumpkin bars taste good and arent burnt.

Bernice- those colored TP rolls is frightening!


I made a shirt of stitch and tink on kawasakis. I made the background dark so it would blend with the shirt. I also did one for MHT and made the background dark too. My bf says I have mad skillz!
