Did you fall alseep yet?

I got sucked into a phone call with my sis-- completely forgot I am to babysit her little guy in the morning.

She had called while we were out... of course the boys neglected to pass on the message to call her back

I was like.. who the heck is calling this late?? And thinking horrible thoughts about teenagers and their friends OR oh crap what happened now.. nope just my sis and we chatted about schools.

She hinted several times that we should have our boys in the same district as hers. Yes I know it's a good school, but so is ours .. and we have more diversity than hers-- which to me is very important.

A few years ago she had made the comment that she wanted her kids in schools were the other students "looked similar to my own kids and culture"

well that's fine, I guess, but my kids are not just "one" anything. And frankly, it's not going to be an issue to find other white middle class suburbia persons in the neighborhood. I want my boys to be more "worldly" and have friendships without barriers of class or race. Considering in the world beyond school, they will be working with people from all walks of life. Isn't that what school is for? To prepare them for life and work?

Who KNOWS! The same thing as a fart knocker? I dont know where I come up with these quality little pet names for them. Thank goodness they have my sense of humor.

GEEZUS BEANS!! My internet connection was down. I called Time Warner and was transferred to the wrong person, then I reached a recording saying that there were technical problems in our area. I just got it to start working again.

My kids will be dressed in whatever hand me downs we get.

Okay... Is it wrong that both my kids come running when I say, "COme here my little ball of butt cheese!" I love my kids. They both just run up and are like... Yes mommy?

Butt cheese? I don't want to know what that is or what it looks like!

I'm really tired again tonight. It's only 7:30 and I'm yawning like crazy.

I was all psyched that there was a new episode of House tonight. I watched half way through and fell asleep. At least I recorded it so I could watch it tomorrow.

I just finished my new sig.

It took over an hour. Now my bf and I are watching dirty jobs. He disassembled the rose parade floats and it was nasty to see the rotten flowers and fruit.

Nope G. that's not what school is for at all. See it's really a place to house the children for free while we go to work when they are little, then from about 2nd grade to 6th grade it's a place for them to learn to read and write. Once they reach 7th grade they KNOW IT ALL, no use trying to teach them anything. So it then becomes a social club where they learn fashion tips and how to dress like street walkers. Then when they turn 16 it becomes like a bar, a place to pick up members of the opposite sex and learn how to party. All of this is then followed by the reality when they graduate that they really don't know very much and must then pay $$$$ to a college so they can learn the stuff they should have in school!

I can remember not so long ago being all excited about my kids going to school, worrying about their classroom placements, making sure they got the right teachers, sending cupcakes to class. Reading everyone's posts about school concerns has made me sort of wonder if I should be taking this more seriously.

I know exactly when I quit being that way. It was the day I finished cancer treatment. I can remember skipping out of the radiation building, cranking the music up in my car and laughing all the way home. I guess it was at that very moment that I decided I was spending my life fussing and worrying about things that I really had no control over and that really weren't all that important. So things had to change! I spent the first 40 years being the sort of person that society expected me to be. The next 40 years I plan on spending have fun!

My life is so much more fun than it ever was. Yet most things remain the same, I still have the same job, still live in the same house, still make sure the kids are staying out of trouble. The only difference now is I don't even worry about the small stuff and I laugh way more.

See, I've just talked myself out of becoming a PTA mom once again! Ya know what? My kids are happy, I'm happy and I really don't care what anybody thinks if I send store bought cupcakes for my kids birthdays!

We got a notice this morning saying we can't use the internet. I'm using my phone to DIS.

I think one of our warehouse guys was playing around and downloading crap so they had to send a notice to all employees.

Urgh....I work in 7 1/2 hours (I know, not too bad), but I am stressing the 10 billion things I should be doing right now. Good news too I think our trip is definitely on - but I feel so ill prepared. I am also working on the manager schedules for the next couple of weeks - I am definitely going to be earning my vacation
