It would be interesting to see Melissa go over to the men's team - I wonder how she and Joan will do when they are split up?
Someone mentioned earlier that she thinks in a head to head combat, Joan will throw Melissa under a bus. I disagree. If you know anything about the history of Joan Rivers and her family, years ago, when Joan was substitute hosting "The Tonight Show" in the last days of Johnny Carson, she had a falling out with Johnny & the producers and was, in essence, fired from the show, and pretty much blacklisted.
Joan's husband, Edgar, was her business manager. He blamed
himself for that whole thing and committed suicide.
It was a horrible, horrible time for Joan. As well as being so angry at Edgar, she almost didn't get out of bed those days. The ONE thing that pulled her through, was she had Melissa to take care of, who was rather young at the time. Joan says they could have drifted apart during that time, lost in their own Hells. Instead, they pulled together and pulled each other forward out of that experience. That is
why you most always see the two of them together doing something. They really are that close.
I think, in a head to head showdown, Joan knows she already has a name and a reputation. She has already had a full career and will keep going. She will turn whatever publicity she gets out of being on
The Celebrity Apprentice to her advantage. She already won money for her charity.
She knows Mellisa still has a full life and career ahead of her. I think Joan would throw
herself under a bus, and allow Melissa the win, as, if Melissa wins the honor of being
The Celebrity Apprentice, she can use that to further her own career. And Joan would be rooting for her the whole way.

Plus, as a Jewish mother, would she be able to handle the Jewish guilt afterwards,

of eating her own young?
. . .But then again, Joan can be a real wildcard.

Who knows what she will do?

She may decide to live with the "guilt" and go for it herself, as this maybe her last big hurrah.
Melissa could always use it later, "Remember Mom, when you threw me under the bus? I think you owe me now..."
