The caboose swap closed

I am scheduled for Aug 15-23. The more I think about this, the more I think I'll need a side by side. BOTH of my kids will be wiped out and probably doze off.

Have you checked the sticky in the budget board? Quite a few have sprung up since we first started!
 
How's everyones' day going?
We just recieved our Custom maps in the mail. If you haven't ordered them, I suggest you go to WDW.com and order them. They are really nice.
I have them stashed away in the bag to give to the kids at the airport.
I'm super excited!!!
 
My vote is for the orange stroller. The blue is nice too, but the orange will definitely stand out more.
I would also vote for the parent tray and skip the lock. It will be a major pain to lock & unlock it each time and our experience at Disney (and other amusement-type places) is that people are pretty honest about taking their own strollers. We've taken our stroller many places and have never had a problem.
Since I'm 2nd to last in the line-up (so far), I'm just hoping that everyone before us takes care of the stroller and it's fairly clean and in good working order. It's such a nice stroller that I would hate to see it destroyed before we get a chance to use it.
As for the $15, that's 1/2 the price of a one-day Disney stroller rental, and we get it for over a week! That's exciting to me. I'd love to see it donated to a women's shelter or crisis pregnancy center after the swap is through.
 
I agree...orange sounds good! I'll go with that. And I love the idea of donating the stroller to a women's shelter or something along those lines!
 
If anyone backs out for August 30th to September 4th, let me know, I've looked at the other stroller swaps and they all have side by side and I would prefer this kind of stroller.:dance3:

I agree....orange will work well and a womens shelter or something similar is a fantastic idea. If everyone feels that a lock is not needed and more of a hassle that is fine.

HI everyone! So excited about our upcoming trip...even though it is 4 months away!
Just a quick question. I noticed that there are 21 people involved in the swap and we're each paying $15. That's $315. Where is the extra money going? I'm not complaining. $15 is way cheaper than the $31/day. I'm just curious as to what the extra money is paying for since the stroller is only $180. Could someone explain please?

I broke down the costs and options on post 153, one page back.
I think we are all in agreement on the :
rain cover
parent tray
possibly a lock
If anyone can think of any additional acessories, I'm open!

umm im just wondering since not everyone is at the same resort how will it work? i know im second on the list and i beleve the family before me is at portorleans riverside and the family after me is at all star music and we are at corondo springs..... so as u can see its kinda scattered just wondering what everyone else is doing ? and can u give opionions on what u think we should do? just trying to make easier transaction for everyone:thumbsup2 thanks again vanessa henneman

I'm not sure how everyone works it out, but I've already talked to the person after me to set up a meeting time. I would think it could work differently for each trade-off. There isn't anyone directly before me yet, but I would think that as the person taking the stroller I would offer to go out of my way to get the stroller.

Of course, I've never done this before. Someone with more experience should probably weigh in! :)

Vanessa: I believe that each swap has a home-based resort so the stroller would have to be returning to its home based resort and stored there if there is a gap. Here is what iheartdisney wrote in a previous post when someone asked the same question:

"Nope, it doesn't matter where you are staying at. It will be started at the All Star Movies, but if doing a hand-off, you can make your own arrangemants. I think we have a few folks staying at Pop, so feel free to join in! "

I will be there after you, but there is a day gap between us therefore, you will need to check the stroller with the baggage service at All Star Movies before you leave and get the Claim Ticket so that I can pick it up when I arrive Aug 27th. I pmed you my information so if anything happen you can get in touch with me. By the way, I will stay at AS Movies not Music though.
