The caboose swap closed

Due to the fact that we will have a few gaps and the stroller will need to be stored with the baggage service at AS Movies and since it's unlikely that the stroller (after put together) will fit back in the original box, we might need to buy a box or better yet a stroller bag to protect the stroller. I doubt that the baggage service CM would agree to take the stroller without any box/bag. Amazon has some double stroller bag, but I am not sure it fits our stroller when it's fold. If anyone has the same stroller, could you please measure the exact dimension of the stroller when it's fold? Any other ideas?

I would be happy to measure it as my daughter (who lives next door to me) has this stroller. I will measure it today.

OK - Now Im confused. I have already spoken to the swapper before me (HI HEIDI!) and she is off property....so is she to leave the stroller at AllStar? or OKW, where I am staying? :confused3

So far I am last on the list, and I will not have transportation at The World, but I would be happy to find a way to donate our beloved Joovy to an organization that we all agree on.

Well, iheartdisney might have the different answer for you. However, from what I understand, when there is a gap the All-Star Movies is just the "default" home-based resort for easier tracking in case it got lost later down the chain if moving from one to the other resorts. Having said that, it's really up to the individual arrangement between Heidi and you. If Heidi agrees to drop it off at OKW for you to pick up, then no need to bring it back to AS Movies, of course.

When there is a gap, it's important that whoever checks it in at baggage service will need to ask for a Claim Ticket, make a copy to keep as backup evidence and leave the Claim Ticket at the agreed resort under the next swapper's name and reservation number. It's even better if this person can take a picture of the claim ticket and the stroller box/bag then email/pm iheartdisney (or just the claim number at least) for tracking purpose. This method is usually used by Fridge swap threads to minimize issues locating the item at the resort.

Whew! Busy morning on the DIS!
First off, GREAT idea on the stroller bag! I doubt the stroller will fit back into the box, and who wants to store the box in thier hotel room for the week. (Those All Star Rooms are small enough!)

OK, as for the "home resort"... Yes, the All Star Movies is the "Home Resort" of this swap. This is especialy true for a longer gap, or someone staying off-site. The value resorts will have a little more experience in the swapping than some of the others (think of all the fridges that have gone through there!!)
That being said, it is between your fellow swappers where to check it if a hand off is not possible. If neither of you have are staying at AS Movies, the outgoing person can check it with the incoming hotel. Just try and use the golden rule. Good communication is key so we can keep track of the stroller.
Also, if you check it, make sure that you CLEARLY (and LARGELY) label it with:
RESERVATION NUMBER
NAME ON RESERVATION
PHONE NUMBER ON RESERVATION
CELL PHONE NUMBER (IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT)
HOTEL
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAY

As photolover stated, PLEASE get a claim ticket so we can track it in case of a loss.

Thanks for everyone for participating, and for helping out!

Hi, swap friend!

I think that, when there is a gap, if at all possible, the stroller should be taken to where the next person is staying. Then again, I've never done this before, so I have NO IDEA what the normal protocol is for something like this.

Maybe a stroller bag/box would be a better purchase than the lock.

OK. I measured my daughter's stroller. Hers has the attachment on the front seat so that an infant seat can be used. This makes it the longest. The measurements folded are: 13" x 20" x 53". With the infant seat attachment not on the stroller it is probably 4" shorter (49" instead of 53") aprox.

THIS IS SUCH A GRERAT THING!
It will save us so much car space, I hope we all respect the stoller and each other
thanks in advance

I just checked amazon.com this morning and the Joovy Caboose Ultralight Stand-On Tandem Stroller is on-sale $199.99 (reg. price $329.99) - a $130 saving! It has a few bonus as compared to the standard version:

1) includes the Neoprene parent organizer $34.99 (save us $34.99 since the standard model didn't have one)
2) includes all-season reversible seat pad $29.83 (BONUS!)
3) oversized canopy with sun visor extension
4) Weighs only 21 pounds
5) it has sealed ball bearing wheels, making it faster and smoother

Its dimension is a little smaller than the standard one 41.5 x 21.5 x 38 inches and I hope it will fit into the stroller bag when fold (see below).

Amazon also has the Standard Dual Stroller Travel Bag $26.25 (reg. 29.99). It said it can accomodate a number of strollers with folding dimension 42" x 21" x 13". It also Includes ID pocket with ID card.

Another one is called Stroller Travel Bag, but it is more expensive $49.99 (accomodates double stroller with capacity 42"x21"x13", same as the cheaper one).

I think it's a very good deal for the Ultralight and hope that termary can order it ASAP, just in case it's going out of stock. With our group size, I think we should have enough budget to buy the following items off Amazon:

1. Joovy Caboose Ultralight Stand-On Tandem Stroller Red $199.99 (free shipping)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00173OHW6/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

2. Joovy Dry and Snug Rain/Wind Shield Cover $34.99 (free shipping)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000JIINLQ/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

3. Standard Dual Stroller Travel Bag $26.25

http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Dual-Stroller-Travel-Bag/dp/B000262HMQ/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_3

4. RayShade® UV Protective Stroller Shadeby Kiddopotamus $14.99 (optional, if enough fund)

http://www.amazon.com/RayShade®-Pro...ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1216746578&sr=1-2

5. Stroller maintenance (cleaning wipe, page protector/color paper/marker/tape, etc) $10+

What do you ladies think? If agree, we need to order quickly to avoid disappointment (in case it becomes Out of stock or price changes). Perharps we can just order the Ultralight stroller first if termary didn't receive all the payments (since it will be shipped separately with free shipping anyway).

I don't think the shade thing (#4 above) is necesary, though. By the description and pictures, it appears to already come with an extra big visor for sun protection.

But, whatever everyone else wants is fine with me. This looks like a great stroller.

That is a good price on a stroller that will be a little easier to get on and off the busses and trams, if we can get everyone's payment in time. It will actually be cheaper to buy the bette stroller with the included parent tray than the regualr stroller and tray combined! WOW!

I researched all of the stroller bags on Amazon, and none of them will accomadate the 49 inches that KarlaG4Kids measured the stroller at folded. The only one I found was this one:
http://www.amazon.com/SafeFit-50135...e=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1216757852&sr=8-10

But if the ultralight is smaller, I might run into Baby Depot and see if they have one and measure it.

Sorry that I'm late to join in the game, but I just found this thread today.
Our trip is from Aug.17-Aug 19 and it seems my dates are available, I was just wondering how long it would be available on the 19th for, because it appears the next person needs it on the 19th too. I don't mind joining in the swap for a short time, I just was hoping to get the 3 days worth of using the stroller.

Could someone please help me out?
TIA :thumbsup2

I think it's better that you PM Henneman directly to ask about her schedule on the 19th since she might not check the board everyday. But the stroller is available since Aug 16.

We have 12 people paid already and the deadline was given by Aug 25. Due to the stroller sale price, perharps a friendly reminder to the rest of the group would help to get the outstanding payment by tomorrow ????
