Just crossed back over the Hudson River, after spending 2 wonderful days in NYC! My DD (theatre geek) wanted as part of her graduation present to go into NYC, spend the night and see shows. We saw 3 shows, Wicked, Fiddler & On Your Feet and loved all of them. She almost cried when we got to our room at the Marquis and the room overlooked Times Square - thanks to all of her father's Marriott points

.
This was my 2nd time seeing Wicked and I love the new Elphaba (she's from the London show) but I wasn't impressed by Peter Scolari as the Wizard. The Fiddler revival was great! We both loved that the stage was bare and how the actors came up from the back of the stage. My DD played (& got nominated) Yente in her high school play a couple of years ago and too be honest I wasn't impressed with the actress that played her in this revival - she was a little deadpan, the rest of the cast were great.
Now, to my favorite, On you Feet, what a great show! I laughed, sang, cried and danced-yep, in my seat! It was a weird beginning because about 20 minutes into the show, the curtain comes down and an announcement of "technical difficulties". Josh, aka Emilio comes out and tell a jokes and says that they'll be starting shortly, then comes out again with another joke. Finally, it's announced that Ana's understudy will be continuing the show. She was absolutely fantastic! We had great seats 6 row middle orchestra. My daughter who was not to happy about seeing it said at the end of the show "Mom, you were right it was great!". Unfortunately, we couldn't stay around to get photos & autographs at the stage door since we had a train to catch but we'll be seeing it again with the rest of the family.
Next up we're seeing the revival of Cats in August - I CAN NOT wait!
