~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Seriously, Dave, do the Goofy. It'll be fun. As long as you are well trained and don't push yourself too much during the marathon, you'll be fine to do whatever for the next week. I was hardly sore at all after the Goofy.

I'm seriously considering it. Can I hang out with you for the whole thing? Where are you and Matt staying?

Does this mean that Mike's on Twitter?
You know me. All Mr. Cutting Edge. The only problem I'm having is it's hell texting with my rotary phone.

Hey, I just wanted to tell you all that I finally got a pair of shoes to test through the Brooks wear testing program. I ran in them this evening and they felt FREEEEE!

Mike~ Where can I snag a pair of Brooks "Free" ... I mean... "Test" shoes? :lmao:

I ran another 5K tonight benefitting the bepositivefoundation.org ... tough course with wet, steamy conditions:

Time: 28:19
Pace: 9:12 (Same as my training run last night)
Splits: 8:24, 8:53, 10:23

Cindy~ I thought about looking ahead for a Fall 2010 race now with all the BOTS so we could get a common race in mind and commit to it. I am not comfortable with our little family/support group going out to run stuff without me/us. I want that Philly feeling back again!

Have a great night all!

Well, I don't know about all that, but it would be nice to set something up for next fall. Lord knows I've tried, but we've got some stubborn ones in this bunch. ;)
Maybe we could shoot for a 2010 spring event instead?
Someone take the bull by the horns & pick it out already!
And I don't want to hear any whining about school, kids, etc. :headache:. Suck it up! :rolleyes1

I'm down for Baltimore, and as soon as I get money I'll register for it. I've gotta stop taking these spur of the moment trips to Florida.

OK, as far as Fall 2010 goes, I already have a committment. One of my good friends from high school is in the Army Reserves. He's leaving in a couple weeks for his second Iraq deployment. He asked if I would run the Portland Marathon (in Oregon his home town) with him next year. I said I would. I've always wanted to run out west, and it's the least I can do for my friend. It's the first weekend in October 2010.

Of course you can hang out with us. I have to warn you, though, if Pittsburgh ends up playing San Diego in the playoffs the weekend of the Goofy :happytv: and San Diego loses, I might not speak to you though :lmao:

Anyway, Cindy and I haven't even thought about booking rooms for the Goofy yet, but staying on the boardwalk worked well last year. I guess it depends on where we can get the best rates.

As for 2010 marathons, maybe we could do a rock n roll event. I know it's not Disney, but they are pretty fun. Or maybe we could do Chicago. It can't be hot every year can it?

So all of you fall marathoners, you any of you started considering training plans yet? Baltimore is about 17 weeks away and I think Marine Corp, Richmond, and New York are all about 20-23 weeks away.

Fortunately for all of us, Goofy is still about 30 weeks away :cool1:

ETA: Howard - Another fine nob on the 5K.

That's what she said! :lmao::rotfl::rolleyes1

I took a day off today recovering from the last two. Noticable foot discomfort, so I am listening to my body here. Tomorrow will be a rest day too.

Have a great weekend!!

Matt - I told Jeff I would give his 16 week, 3 running days a week plan a shot so I don't start until late July. It sounds great until you realize that it's 2 days a week of speedwork and 5 x 20 milers :scared1:plus the required cross training.

Ha, I forgot you were going to give that plan a go.:thumbsup2

Good news, I just found out our swim coach is planning the meet November 7 and 8, so we are ALL good to go to Richmond the next weekend!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Jeff just got back from his 9 miler, is it a bad sign that he needed to take an ice bath after it??:confused3

I am going to try and get 6 miles in this weekend.
