The Book of Daniel on NBC

Chuck S said:
I beg your pardon, but Jehovah's Witnesses and LDS do believe Christ was/is God's son, and that he was crucified for humanity...that makes them, by definition, a Christian sect. Whether I agree with the rest of their principles or not.

The "true gospel", which again, no one on earth today can accurately speak for, is unknown. All we have to base it upon is ancient writings which often contradict themselves, or are told from the perspective of Peter and Paul...if James, Brother of Jesus had survived the Romans instead, we'd more than likely have a Christianity today that was a sub-sect of Judaism. The portrayal of Christianity on TV could be just as accurate, for all we know, as any other Christian belief system.

Satan believes that Jesus is the son of God also but that certainly doesnt qualify him as a Christian either. Even the demons believe in Jesus.

LDS and JW are false religions and/or cults, take your pick.

Apparent contradictions in the Bible are offered up by those that have little understanding of the Bible in the first place. They tend to take a few verses totally out of context and offer them up as proof. We could get into an ad nausem debate about the authencity of the Bible and how new discoveries in archeleogy are proving the Bible to be accurate when in the past it was thought the Bible was wrong about certain events.

But Christianity as presented in the Bible is not accurately protrayed on major network TV nor will it be in my lifetime.

2c--PLEASE keep posting your fundamentalist Christian garbage. It's very, very amusing! :rotfl2:

I wonder what the God Warrior thinks of this new show? Maybe somebody oughta go ask her? :rotfl:

Oh, it's all darksided!

And I do love me some popcorn. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:
Oh is THAT what she was saying? It sounded like "Dork-sided" to me. I wonder if they plan to re-run that particular episode any time soon? I never saw it, only heard about it (and downloaded a clip of her complete freakout) after the fact.

The thing that gets me though is the way she says "Christiaaaaaaaanugh!".
:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :teeth:

Oh Lord..I'm being sacriligious/blasphemous!

Hey..why am I in this handbasket and where am I going? :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I didn't think this thread would take off.

Does anyone have a link to the preview online??? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Personally, I've never asked Satan what he believes...have you?

In your personal opinion. Funny, they could just as easily claim your church/religious belief is a cult. It never ceases to amaze me the number of "Christians" who call other "Christians" cultists/false prophets.

Again, I have no doubt there was probably some kind of universal flood event, or that Sodom & Gamorrah may have been destroyed by volcanic action or meteor strike...that doesn't mean that everything in the Bible is accurate.
But Christianity as presented in the Bible is not accurately protrayed on major network TV nor will it be in my lifetime.

Christianity, as based upon your personal interpretation of the Bible, or your personal beliefs, may not be accurately portrayed on TV...and I agree it probably never will be...that does not mean that your interpretations are any more or less accurate than anyone else's. The Lord gave us each the ability to think, analyze, and decide for ourselves..and since there is no current person on earth that was alive at the time the texts were written we don't have a clue as to how accurate they are.

Come to think of it, Free4life, we don't even have PROOF that Jesus of Nazareth was even the Son of your so-called God person. For all we know, he was just another prophet (which is my personal belief). Granted, a very charismatic prophet, but a prophet (and completely human, no divine ANYTHING whatsoever) nonetheless (again this is strictly my belief. YMMV. See warranty for details).

"Point to an episode where Jesus is mentioned."

I can't believe I am jumping in on this - but they mentioned Jesus on the Christmas episode just last week...

It's kind of hard to mention Christmas on a religious show and not mention Jesus. After all (as I was reminded by a girl handing out pamphlets at the mall)"He's the REASON for the SEASON!".

Uh..no he's not. The pagan Saturnalia and Solstice celebrations are the real reason behind the season. The Christians just co-opted it to fit their religion. :)

Or is this another one of your baseless charges?

The Rev is a protestant minister. Jesus is mentioned quite often. I watch the show as you obviously do not. As Dawnct loves to say, "Do your own homework"! I'm sure transcripts are available from the WB. If anyone is baseless around here, it's you. As others have said, your version of Christianity is quite fascinating indeed! Too bad every thread you post on gets locked (thanks to you for the most part) as we are quite entertained by your zealous rantings.

again, show me an episode where Jesus is mentioned. You made the claim that Jesus was mentioned so do your homework and prove me wrong.

I have seen several episodes and I have yet to hear Jesus mentioned in any of them.

First you claim I am someone else and now you make this claim. Where is your credibility. Anyone can throw out accusations. What I am looking for from you is some substance and proof. I would love for you to prove me wrong on this one. I will be waiting.

The show has been on for ten years and you have seen 'several' episodes. Good for you! Actually to set the record straight, someone else said you were HF, not me (check the thread). I only said you sound like someone else (again, check the other thread). So who is the one throwing accusations? I don't have 7th Heaven on tape so I can not point out to you the specific episodes. Of course in your twisted mind, that means I don't have proof because I didn't write down the times I heard the Rev say it. Well stupid me! I should have known one day I would be debating this ridiculous subject! AGAIN, write and get transcripts. Why should I spend my money and my time on appeasing you? You can wait till Bill O'Reilly says Happy Holidays!

I just said - they mentioned him on the Christmas show last week. They talked all about Christmas and its story.

Yes, but he wants you to PROVE it to him! We have to get the transcript for him and post it in it's entirety and then MAYBE he will believe us, unless we "doctored" the script. You know, you can't put anything past us heathens!

"Jesus Loves Me" is on the soundtrack for the show. I don't have transcripts so that's about as specific as I can get.

Ok - here's the synopsis from the Christmas show from the WB website. Says Jesus right in the plot summary.

It's Christmas and the Camdens are embracing the holiday spirit in various ways: The entire family takes part in a living nativity scene at the church, Eric (Stephen Collins) dresses as Santa and helps out at a convalescent home, Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman) volunteers at a hospital, Lucy (Beverley Mitchell) works with Habitat for Humanity and Kevin (George Stults) considers adopting a dog from the location shelter. Meanwhile, Sandy (Haylie Duff) and the Camdens talk to Rose (Sarah Thompson) about the real meaning of Christmas after Rose tells the twins (Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino) that Santa Claus and Jesus aren't real.
Catherine Hicks and David Gallagher also star. The episode was directed by Harry Harris and written by Brenda Hampton & Elaine Arata.

So 2funny was wrong, get out. :rotfl:

No wonder many folks in Hollywood stay clear of anything Christian related. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
