I think you are right.

Heresy and blasphemy. Enough said.

Ignorance...you should come out from under the rock from which you live...religious extremists like yourself are what cause most of the problems in the world today.

I'm more of a Christian than 2funny is. And I'm agnostic. Heck, my atheist friends are better Christians than him/her.

If you are saying 7th Heaven doesn't mention Jesus, then that just proves you never even watched it! This is just your percieved notion of what these shows are about. If you are going to denounce something, at least do your homework.

Point to an episode where Jesus is mentioned.

Or is this another one of your baseless charges?

If He's not mentioned, how can He be mocked? :confused3

Surely the Lord has a sense of humor...S/He created the platypus, didn't S/He?

Because Jesus is not mention it mocks the faith because it presents a Universlistic view of God. There is no way but through Jesus to the father.

It is just more of the new age, Oprahistic theology that is prevalent in todays society.

OHHHHH Something we can actually agree on..I can't stand Oprah.
JFTR,I've actually seen the father read verses from the Sermon on the mt one time, and I've most certainly seen him talk about Jesus, especially in scenes wher he is preaching

Okay, so any TV show that in any way involves religion but does not mention Jesus Christ is mocking Christianity? Is that right? What in blazes do you watch?

Those stinkin' New Age Camdens...

He may have been reading from the sermon on the mount but go back and see if he ever really mentions Jesus by name. I know on Touched by an angel the producers never wanted to mention Jesus. I think the same thing is in play on 7th Heaven

I don't know, if someone is not a Christian, but believes in God/Allah or a Higher Spirit they have their own version of how to achieve the enlightenment/higher plane/heaven/nirvana. And there is no physical evidence to demonstrate that the Christian belief system is any more a reality than other belief systems...only that is it believed by more people in Western civilization.

7th Heaven also doesn't mention many other religions, it is "mocking" them as well?

If you are going to portray a Protestant minister on TV and leave out Jesus then I think it does not portray an accurate depiction of the faith.

The religion featured in 7th Heaven is Christianity not any other religion. And it gives an inaccurate portrayal of the Christian faith.

Actually, it only gives an inaccurate potrayal of YOUR PERSONAL version of the Christian faith. Fortunately, you do not speak for "THE" Christian faith, no one alive today does, that is why we have so many sects, including Jehovah's Witness, LDS, Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist, etc.

Jehovah Witness and LDS are not Christian religions.

"The" Christian faith is based on Jesus dying for our sins and us accepting that gift. 7th Heaven does not present this message in any way. It soft sells Christianity and presents a feel good, all roads lead to heaven approach. I know its TV and it wouldnt have been on for 10 years if it presented the true gospel but I am just presenting my view of why I dont care for 7th heaven or any other quasi-religious show on network TV today.

I beg your pardon, but Jehovah's Witnesses and LDS do believe Christ was/is God's son, and that he was crucified for humanity...that makes them, by definition, a Christian sect. Whether I agree with the rest of their principles or not.

The "true gospel", which again, no one on earth today can accurately speak for, is unknown. All we have to base it upon is ancient writings which often contradict themselves, or are told from the perspective of Peter and Paul...if James, Brother of Jesus had survived the Romans instead, we'd more than likely have a Christianity today that was a sub-sect of Judaism. The portrayal of Christianity on TV could be just as accurate, for all we know, as any other Christian belief system.

Well,now isn't this an interesting discussion! :rotfl2:

I always thought PK stood for Promise Keeper (which I do not approve of), not Pastor's Kid. Who knew? :confused3

I've seen the commercials and I think this is going to be very, very funny. I know I plan on watching.

TOV (PP)

I saw the promo last night and just thought - this is either going to be totally hysterical or be the worst thing I've ever seen...
