The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

Hello I am more excited by the minute to be trying BWI Deluxe room next Oct...I love the look of the BWI! anyway, I was wondering....are the Deluxe rooms pretty central in the resort/ close to the lobby/pool/club lounge, etc??? or are there long walks from the rooms? I have requested (knowing it's only a request) a 4th floor room....
It's nice to be excited about my resort choice, Finally!!! no inkling to change

ETA: Is the CL lounge open 24 hrs now? I like being able to grab a can of pop if needed, after 10 pm

The location of the Deluxe Rooms is that they will be a fair distance away from the elevators that go to the lobby. On the 4th floor I can say they are within walking distance of the lounge, so like I said before you can always request the 4th floor.

Their Club Level lounge is not open 24 hours because at 10:00 PM they close the doors. However it's open from 6:30 AM - 10:00 PM and doesn't close when there is no food services during the day like the lounges at the other Deluxe Resorts.

I forgot to mention that if you stayed on the 3rd floor those Deluxe Rooms are located very close to a set of stairs that goes to the 4th floor, so you don't have to walk all the way down to the elevator when going up there.

So it's not seasonal like at the CR and WL? That would be great. YC had it in the summer, too so maybe Epcot Resorts have it all the time and MK Resorts don't.

I do remember it being seasonal when staying Club Level at the Contemporary. They never had it during the month of August, however they did have it available during the month of December.

Although during my last Club Level stay at the Contemporary in December 2009 the Oatmeal wasn't available.

Just back from BWI and I'm still trying to put my thoughts together so this will be short. My wife and I stayed Club Level between 10/23 - 10/29.
First impressions;
Good:
Great Staff, Good Food in the lounge. Great Decor.

Bad:
Room 4204 is terrible. Not really any other way to put it. It is the second to last room from the end of the building. Which means a very long walk down a very cold hallway. The balcony is tiny and looks out over about 15% of the quiet pool and faces the back of the Boardwalk Inn. I had a great view of the lounge balcony. The afternoon sun beats down on the balcony and it was not an enjoyable place to sit and relax.

We had a great time, but I think it could have been better.

Thanks for the answers regarding cases of water at the Hess station. Looks like that is the best option for me. I'll just walk there and grab a case.

Does the boat go to MK from the boardwalk? And are the deluxe rooms a long walk to the pool, or are they pretty central? And, lastly....can you still use the Disney dining plan QS credit at the pool eatery?

The boat does not go to the Magic Kingdom, it only goes to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. So you will need to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom.

As for the walk to the pool like I said before it's a fair walk and it might seem long to you if you never stayed there, however once you get use to it the walk isn't that bad. At least that's my opinion after staying there 3 previous times so I am use to doing the walk to their pool.

Finally according to the Disney Dining Plan you can not use any Quick Service credits at their pool eatery.

Crescent Lake is not connected to the other water systems leading into the Seven Lakes Lagoon or Bay Lake, so the only place you can go by water from the EPCOT hotels is EPCOT and DHS.

Just returned from an 11 day stay at the BWI, if you have any questions just ask!

The trip was amazing..except for the last day when the main hot water to the entire resort went out and we had to take freezing cold showers

@chimo2u -- As a general note, the Club Deluxe room is amazing, we really loved it. Between the room itself, and the overall great vibes we got from the Boardwalk, after staying there last Nov, we decided to buy a resale DVC contract with Boardwalk as our home. I hope you love it!

We had a meal at the Fountain in the Dolphin and thought the food was excellent there! Might be a less crowded alternative to Beaches & Cream. And you get a 20% DVC discount, just show your membership card.

I would highly recommend the ESPN Club, I have had their Burger multiple times and it tastes great.

Good to know, I may be losing it, for some reason, I thought I had taken a boat from MK to beach club when I was last there? I must be mixing things up and need to go study transportation again, lol

( may be outdated) that it did....it would have been nice to be able to have lunch by the pool for our MNSSHP day when we have a relaxation break that afternoon before the party...

You're welcome and it turns out I made a mistake. For the Disney Dining Plan in 2012 it does list Leaping Horse Libations as a location for you to use Quick Service credits.

We just stayed at Boardwalk from 10/26-10/29. We were booked as a standard club level room, but were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite- it was awesome. Everyone we met was nice- Jackie, Lorenzo, Mary and Anita.

Our room was on the fourth floor on the ESPN end, but around the corner from it. We had a view of the Eiffel tower in Epcot. We were able to see both Illuminations and even Hallowishes from a distance from the balcony. I didn't think the walk down the hall was that bad, but I have a family of fast walkers.

The food in the lounge was really good. One night a chef from Cat Cora's was even up there talking to guests. Breakfast included oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, cold cereal, muffins, croissants, fruit,etc. My kids enjoyed the cookies, swedish fish and homemade chips during the day. The evening offerings were really yummy- potstickers, egg rolls, beef and lamb skewers, multiple cheese offerings, dips, etc. I didn't have any wine, but did get several Yuengling beers each night. The desserts were very good as well.

We enjoyed the activities on the boardwalk and watched the entertainers, did the boardwalk games, etc...

It was so nice being several steps away from Epcot and Food and Wine. My whole family agrees that we will definitely go back to the Boardwalk and will most likely do club level again. Thankfully, we did not have the dining plan on the second part of the trip because the lounge offerings combined with a counter service or tableservice lunch was enough for us.
