I'm so excited to be posting on this thread!

We just booked our 2011 Disney Dream Vacation, and thanks to the 35% offer, we booked a standard Club-Level room at BWI!

We often walk past or through the Boardwalk, and have heard rave reviews about it, and we're over the moon to be staying there.

I look forward to this thread over the next seven (long) months!

Here's my first set of questions. Do all rooms there have balconies? I know the standard club level rooms don't all face the boardwalk, but what other kinds of views do CL rooms have? Any special requests I could/should make at check in? (I say check-in because it's my understanding that room assignments are now done by computer).
I hope you have a great time.

Now as for your questions all their Standard Club Level Roms do come with balconies. In fact last month when we had that reservation we requested the Boardwalk View and were lucky enough to get it in room 4223. However incase you got that room you should know the left side of the Boardwalk View was cut off by the roof over the Boadwalk Bakery. Despite that it was still a nice view.

I also believe the room requests for Club Level guests are not done by computer and it's done by the Club Level Cast Members because it would make more sense. Plus I don't think the computer system cares enough to really look over them the way the Club Level Cast Members would.

Thanks for the reply! I'd also be thrilled with a courtyard view that looked across to Epcot's Eiffel Tower. Look at us straying away from our beloved monorail resorts! :rotfl: It also looks as if we'll be at BWI at about the same time!

Next question (and probably the last one for a bit). Do they still include the pretty "Good Night" cards with the moon on them for turn down service at the BWI?

Yes looking at our countdown tickers we will be there around the same dates, so I bet it's a good chance we might see each other in the lounge. As for us straying away from our Monorail Resorts, I said the Boardwalk needed to really impress me and they did since we keep going back there.

To answer your other question yes they still have those good night cards that the Housekeeper leaves during Turn Down service.

Leave the cards AND the taffy! I'm looking at one right now-"Slowly, silently now the moon Walks the night in her silvery shoon."

Ah, to be back at Boardwalk!

You'll love BWI CL! I would request away from ESPN.

Really looking forward to our upcoming 2/22 to 2/28 trip to BWI. We were last at BWI in 2005, and liked it so much! Last year we had some unique and wonderful pixie dust sprinkled on us with an upgrade to Concierge at BC during the same February week. :wizard: Not expecting that again, (although I can always hope) so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on quick breakfast options around the area? Hi to those on the thread, interesting to note that I haven't logged on in a while, last time I did I had been reading the last 2 posters on this thread TR's! I remember Scottmc was at GF right after me in 2009! :goodvibes. I'm going back to read more in this thread now:thumbsup2
I was in a CL so I didn't look for breakfast but I think the Belle Vue Lounge. Whenever I would walk past on the way to the parks it never looked too crazy busy. You could try the bakery also but I think the lines there might get a bit longer.

How funny! Great minds think alike, I guess, with all of us planning BWI trips! :thumbsup2

How cute! :goodvibes I love turndown service too, and am thrilled to see they do the little cards! :thumbsup2 I stayed CL at the Beach Club twice last year and never got cards. They do, however, have that taffy, which I'm addicted to. Glad to see BWI also has it!

Best/fastest way to get to OHANA ressie from BWI (without Epcot entry)?

Either take a Friendship boat or walk to Hollywood Studios, and then take a bus from there to the Poly. If there's any delay for a Poly bus, you could also hop on a bus to the TTC and take the quick walk to the Poly (there's a marked pathway to the right of where the buses let off at the TTC). Should be pretty quick!

You could also take a bus from BWI to the Magic Kingdom and then take the Poly/ GF boat launch, or the resort monorail to the Poly. But I think going to DHS first will be quickest.

Besides taking the boat or walking to Hollywood Studios and getting a bus from there, you could take a taxi if you don't mind the cost and it would be the fastest way.

Don't forget when taking the bus from Hollywood Studios to the Polynesian the 1st stop it will make is at the Contemporary, so that will add a few more minutes to the time that would take to get there.

loved this room in a corner so there were windows on two walls. Small balcony looked out on a green and quiet courtyard.

Our first stay at BWI. Great location since we were there for the F&W.

:thumbsup2

Sorry - cannot recall the room number. We had requested a king bed room, quiet location.

I loved reading about the ultrafeast! You were at BC right after us last year...agreed, great minds think alike!:thumbsup2

Wow, how funny! Glad you enjoyed reading! :goodvibes

GSLand, thanks for the room pics! I love how bright that room looks with the windows on 2 walls - very nice! :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone! I'm busy catching up by my husband and I are planning a trip to the Boardwalk in May. We'd originally planned on the YC but decided to try something different since we just stayed there in January. My question is about view. Does Water View guarantee a boardwalk view or can it also be a pool view? We'd really only be interested in the upgraded view if it was of the Boardwalk.

I am sure I'll have more questions but in the meantime I'll be busy reading this thread and catching up!

I had read to have reservations list "boardwalk view" on your reservation. In 2008 I had paid for a water view and I did call and have reservations put that on there. When I checked in I made the request again and the CM began to question me but then realized that I had paid for a water view room and just said "No problem". I had an excellent view of the boardwalk just over the Arcade section of the ESPN. Now, I do admit that it took forever to walk to my room but I have no problems with walking so it never bothered me.

I wanted to mention that last week I was at the BWI. I had paid for a standard non concierge room. I had room 4292. It was near the elevators and it was an ADA accessible room. It was HUGE. Much larger than the standard Boardwalk Inn room. The bathroom set-up was different as well. Instead of the double sink being in a recessed alcove to your right, like in the other rooms, when you entered the room you turn right and the sink, as well as the closet, are in a perpendicular room of its own.

The fridge/dresser is still on your left as you enter the room - same as the standard rooms. This was basically a Garden View room, as that is what it overlooked, and I could see the upper Illuminations fireworks from my balcony (standing to the right of a massive tree) and I could hear all of Illluminations. The only negative for me was the ADA accessible shower. Those really need to be designed better - even for those with the ADA accessible needs. There really isn't a place to put your stuff in those showers and it can be a pain. That is my only complaint about the room. I'm sorry that I didn't take pictures - I meant to but I forgot.

I am the dumb consumer goes to WDW every year, always books a magic your way package, never buys an annual pass, so the park tickets for the length of are included in the MYW package. Since this year, the only discount I could get on a WDW vacation was to book a room only reservation, I do not have park tickets yet.

Can I buy tickets when I check in at the resort (BWI)?
I just want to add 6 day park hoppers to my room only reservation and have everything on our keys to the world card. Can they do it at check in?
Thanks:)

Yes you can purchase tickets from the front desk when you check-in or you can purchase them from their Lobby Concierge desk.

The way the taffy is lined up just makes my heart melt. Was that how they were when you came in? Somebody took such care in doing that. It just makes me smile.

During our two Club Level stays each time we came back to our room and Turn Down service had been done, the Taffy was always lined up like it is in that picture.
