Can you tell me what hot appetizers they have on each night, does it change from week to week or is it usually the same? :)

They have two different ones each night. For example some nights they had Duck Quesadillas, Spanakopita, Veggie Spring Rolls, Meatballs, Blue Crab Cheese Cake and Prosciutto Wrapped Sea Scallops. They also don't have a set menu of what items will be offered on specifc days because sometimes it could change, so you need to ask what they are serving that day and they will look in their book to see what's scheduled.

Hi All,

Thought I'd swing by this thread.... we've been home from our month long Disney vacation for nearly two weeks now :( We stayed in a Deluxe CL - room 3229, which was directly above the "ERY" part of the Boardwalk Bakery sign. We LOVED our room, with the exception of difficulty of access to the lounge. We just needed a rope ladder down from the landing... would have saved us a good couple of minutes each way :rotfl:

CL staff were lovely - special mention to JJ and Jacqui (sp?). Both helped make our stay wonderful.

Thought I'd post a couple of photos, too...

I hope everyone who is due to go enjoys their stay as much as we did. We purchased into DVC on the PC cruise, so next time we can stay in the villas (although next time probably won't be for another 10 years or so).

Cheers,
Sally :)

Thanks for the photos, emum! I always love those shots around Crescent Lake at night!

A month-long Disney vacation? Jealous person, here!

I agree that the CL staff is amazing, outstanding, etc.

Signing in on this thread!

I will be joining my best friend and her mom in December 2011 staying at BWI and we can't wait!

Anything special we need to know?

Lucky you! You get to see the BWI Christmas decorations, including the tree outside, and can walk over to see the BC/YC decorations as well.

Boardwalk is a special place, gorgeous rooms, great location, wonderful colors at night looking over Crescent Lake. Love this place. Catch some of the entertainment out on the boardwalk.

Make sure to head over to Grand Floridian and check out the Gingerbread House!

I am very fortunate to be taking this trip! It's a bit of a Disney do-over for my best friend and I! We travelled with my small kids in September and being that adults move faster, well, we didn't get to spend much time together, so we're having another go!

I have stayed in the Epcot area before, but that was a few moons ago... :rolleyes1 I love that area! It's pretty, the transportation can't be beat, and the resorts are very nice!

The thing I'm trying to figure out is if it is going to be worth it to get a mug this time around. I've seen a rough list of places where the refill stations are, but I have no idea how "big" BWI is compared to other resorts... for comparison, our last two resorts have been CSR and CBR. (Plus I hear there's been possible sightings of new mugs... FINALLY!)

I know that GF is on our list of places to go for 1) the decorations and for 2) Basin White! :teeth:

We will be spending most of our time at EP and we do have hoppers.

Compared to CSR and CBR, the BWI itself is compact! Those places are huge and spread out. Although some people complain about the "long " walks down the BWI hallways, its nothing compared to walking around Caribbean or Coronado.

So are we talking the original building of the Contemporary??? Size of the Swolphin buildings???

I know it's a lot smaller... EVERYTHING is tiny compared to CBR (we will NEVER stay there again!)

No, still smaller--someone help me come up with a comparison!! The entire Boardwalk would look larger, because part of it is the villas, so the Inn itself it maybe the size of a couple of the CBR "village" buildings put lengthwise.

I loved CBR--although I have only stayed there on adult-only trips.

Awesome!

Our biggest complaint were the buses and the vast size of it all.

The buses were horrible. It took forever to get out of the resort property and several times (even travelling at "off" times in the "off" season) we spent a lot of time waiting on a bus going and coming from the park.

Had we not been in the building we were in, we probably would have switched resorts. 6 stops for one place was too much! We had a great room in Aruba 51. That saved CBR for us. It was just too much to walk (or haul out the stroller) with a 2 and 4 YO.

I'm so excited to stay at BWI! It will be refreshing to be back there again.

Oh, and the buildings at CBR only have 2 floors, so cram a couple of their buildings together, add a couple of floors, and you have the BWI size.

Well the hallways of the Contemporary Tower are much smaller then the hallways of the Boardwalk, plus the main difference is everything with the expection of The Wave restaurant is located on their 4th floor of the Tower. In the end they are both different resort experiences which is what I have come to decide after staying at both resorts.

Our 10th anniversary is this October, so DH and I are staying at BWI for the first time...and since he got a PIN code email yesterday, I booked Club Level!:banana::banana:

I am so excited. We have been staying at POFQ, which we LOVE, but wanted to try Deluxe this trip, with it being no kids and all. My only fear is that it will spoil me and I'll want to stay CL all the time. Perhaps my dream of switching to every year instead of every other year will have to stay just a dream to support my habit:rotfl:

I hope you have a great time and great ready to be spoiled by the Innkeeper's Club. Their Cast Members are simply the best and make for a great experience, plus the lounge itself is very nice and the food up there is amazing.

Uh-oh.....after staying CL at Boardwalk, prepare to be addicted to staying there again and again and again.

However, it's a GOOD habit to have!
