The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

I'm being a little lazy and haven't looked through this whole thread Have stayed CL before and loved it, and love the whole resort.

Next trip there's 3 adults going (friends) and we were originally thinking of a deluxe room, but on reflection we'd rather have 2 baths (i.e. wcs), so we're now thinking of a cottage (garden suite).

The only thing that puts us off is the fact it seems quite a walk up to the club lounge, but as we'd rather have the 2 separate wcs it's really our only option at the moment.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there was a shortcut?

I'd be interested to hear people's opinions and their good/bad points. Thanks.

I'm confused. I thought there was only ONE deluxe concierge room at the Boardwalk. And we are going the same time as SRU. I'm totally confused I thought we would be in the same room as last year. Not so? We are in the one that fits 6? Do all the deluxe that you are talking about sleep 6?

java-I believe there are 10 Deluxe concierge rooms. We have stayed in them the past 4 trips. Also found out this last trip that one does not have two tvs. I think there are 5 on the third floor and five on the 4th floor.

I wanted to add that there appeared to be a short cut to the walk to DHS, but we only walked the one morning and took the boat back. So we never tried it. When we walked we were on the boardwalk and walk towards Swan & Dolphin, following the sidewalk around the water.

After walking a good way we saw a sidewalk leading into the "clown pool" area. So it looked like we could have saved some walking had we just cut through the pool area and down the side walk towards the water, turn left and onto DHS. Like I said we didn't try it, but I wish we had seen this earlier.

Has anyone used this short-cut?

There is no need to walk all the way down the boardwalk. past Jellyrolls, and then down the walkway. Just cut through Luna Park, behind the Keister Coaster and head to the left onto the walkway. You cut off a significant amount of walking that way.

WHAT!?!?!? How could they have one room that doesn't have 2 TVs when the rest of them do? That's silly!

So if you are on the 3rd floor what's the deal? Is it a private entrance like on 4th floor or on you on an open floor with regular people (ok that sounds pompous I mean non- cl people)

I'm just thinking what's the benefit of concierge if I have to take an elevator to get to it.

ITA! I think it's silly that the benefit of paying more for CL is that you have access to the lounge and all it's goodies as well as the CL staff. If you have to walk down a hall and take an elevator even to get to it it seems a little inconvenient and I'll be a little annoyed if that's where we end up being placed.

The room with only 1 tv has a different configuration in the ceiling . It is sloped, therefore no room for the 2nd armoire.

I actually prefer the 3rd floor rooms. The balconies are bigger. I use the back stairway to the 4th floor. If you are traveling with children then it may be a hassle.

How do you gain access to the back stairway and lounge area? Do you have to use your room key somewhere? Also, is the room with only one tv on the third or fourth floor?

Sorry I don't know I have never stayed on the 3rd floor. I'm hoping we don't get the one tv room as we are bringing the kids. I didn't even realize there was more than one room for the 6 of us.

I know there have been threads about this before, but since WDW is an expansive area, I figured I would ask here so I could be specific to things closest to the Boardwalk.

We'd like to stop on our way into WDW to grab a couple items at a grocery store (no, we're not interested in Garden Grocer or similar places since it's only a few things ) Where would be the most convenient (easily off of I-4?) place to stop on the way into the World? We're getting milk products, so we can't stop too far away.

They don't have to be off I-4, I just thought that might be the easiest. I read that there are lots of Publix stores, a Goodings (that's more expensive,) and a Wal-Mart, but I can't seem to figure out which would be the best and where they are in relation to the Epcot resort area. Thanks!!!

Ok not being too nosey but what type of milk products because the lounge has a lot of stuff available. I found that we didn't need the grocery stop when we were on the concierge level.

For convenience sake in the past we just stopped at the minimart at the Hess station right near the epcot area.

Specifically, fat free vanilla coffee creamer (the cold stuff, not the powdery stuff,) and then we want to get a bunch of bottled water. We know in the past the lounges have only had cups for water and not bottles, but we have never stayed at the BWI. Do they have bottles available? We drink a LOT of water and don't want to have to keep bothering them if it's something they have to continue going in 'the back' and getting for us.

I know if you ask they will give you large bottles of water to take back to the room but they do not have smaller plastic bottles that you could take to the park.

So KerryCM, how do you gain access to the lounge from the third floor? Key card to the stairs? Also, where's the room with only one tv? Want to avoid that one.

Ok, I have a couple questions, and I'm hoping someone can help

1. (asked in a previous post) Where is the closest Publix/grocery store/Wal-Mart that would be convenient to our travels into WDW on I-4?

2. Can you request a microwave for in your room?

3. How much is the internet service?

4. I read somewhere that there's free public WiFi? Is that in the lounge?

We're staying BWI CL for two nights on the end of our GF stay. Can anybody tell me if all CL rooms are on certain floors. We made a resort switch from the POLY and the CM carried over our ground floor request from there, but I don't really want ground floor at the BWI CL because I know the lounge is on what the 3rd or 4th floor.

Should I call and have them remove that request or are all CL rooms on higher floors so they will likely just ignore it?

The CL rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors and the lounge is on the 4th floor

If you go down past Downtown Disney (coming from the BWI) and then past the DD hotels, there's a gateway that takes you off Disney property. I recall there was a grocery store pretty close. I'm sorry, I don't remember what store it was or what the street name is for that matter. I know this is a pretty unspecific answer but maybe someone can help us out from my descriptions.

I sent a question to the IPO about the WiFi and daily charge with some other questions I had. I'll post the reply as soon as I receive it.
