Thanks!! I know what you mean. We booked in February, and the past 4 months have seemed to take forever :) Before you know it your trip will be here, though, and then I can be the jealous one :goodvibes

We'll be at BWI the first week of December. I just started reading this thread yesterday and only got through page 8. Thanks so much for putting this information together! I hope more BWI lovers will keep this thread more active so I can find it when I return to it each day when I have time to catch up on it.

PS we were at the Poly with our granddaughters in May and loved it. But wanted an adult only vacation and a chance to see all the special Christmas events and decorations.

For all of you heading to to Boardwalk soon we just got back from our yearly family trip to the Boardwalk on the Club Level. We will never stay anywhere else. We love the resort and the staff rocks as DD would say :cool1: They were wonderful as usual and even though it rained nonstop we still had a blast. Still sat on the balcony at night and took in my Boardwalk view. That is one of my favorite things to do. In Oct I head down for my "Girls Trip" with Nascargirl. Can't wait to be back at my home away from home. You will enjoy the stay. It is relaxing, fun, and there is always something to do at night. When it was raining the entertainers were in the lobby. You can stroll over to EPCOT easily for dinner or to walk the World Showcase. The location just can't be beat.:cloud9: Enjoy!

Welcome back!! Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!!:cool1:
Could you post a bit about CL Lounge food offerings, as well as tell us a bit more about your room/view? Thanks a bunch!! :thumbsup2

We love the BWI.:cool1: We too just returned after spending a wonderful week with sfbank and her family. DH and I stay 3x ayear and will be heading back in 4 wks. Then I will head back in Oct with sfbank for our 2nd annual girls weekend. I love sitting on the balcony first thing in the morning watching the world go by. In the evening, we can see the entertainers from above. The view is wonderful. We love having the option of walking or boating to Epcot or the Studios. The Epcot resorts have a nice variety of places to eat around the lagoon as well.

blissventure--We did have a great time. As usual I was depressed to come home but always have the next trip to look forward to. The food offerings are always good and plenty as far as we are concerned. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit (strawberries, melon, pineapple, and grapes), pastries, crossants, bagles, toast, and cereal. They always have juice and milk as well. Afternoon snacks are bags of chips, pretzels, popcorn, gummy bears, nuts, Goldfish crackers, as well as water, soda, lemonade, tea, etc. to drink. We weren't there too many nights for the offerings but the couple we were there the food was always good. One night they had wings from the ESPN Club and chili. One night was pork jambalaya and kabobs from I believe Spoodles. They always have cheese, veggies, and their bread dip and bread that I just love. They have beer, wine, and soda as well. The cordials and wine time is always good. They offer different wine and other drinks. The chocolate covered strawberries are wonderful. They had lemon bars this time that were good, well it is all good. They have little tarts with fresh fruit, cheesecake, brownies, cookies. All low calorie of course!:rotfl2: Hope that helps and if you need anything else just ask!:)

I love planning and have already chosen most of the restaurants I want for when our ADR window opens in September. Our plane is scheduled to land at MCO 2:33 pm. I figure we will arrive at BWI by about 4:30 pm using Magical Express. I'll add in an additional cushion of 2 hours for arrival day dinner. I'm trying to decide between Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse. I'm leaning towards Yachtsman Steakhouse. Would that be about a 10 minute walk? As one of my friends puts it we're "junior seniors."

KathyZ-We have eaten at both places and you cannot go wrong with either. We are planning on eating at the Yachtman in a a few weeks. I would give yourself more like 15-20 minutes in case you stop along the way. The other option if you don't feel like walking all that long, is see if the Epcot boat is on its way back. It stops at the BWI first, then heads over to the BC. The walk is shorter especially if you are tired.:thumbsup2

LOVE hearing all about the BWI, it seems that everyone is staying CL, I don't think we are going to be able to swing CL (even though it does sound wonderful:cloud9:), does anyone have some good experiences with standard?? We still have about 10 months but are already getting so excited about BWI!

Cory's Gal-our first trip in 02 was standard before we knew what Concierge was. We had a room on the third floor right next to the ESPN Club with a Boardwalk view. It was still wonderful. The resort itself is what makes our trip. It wouldn't feel like Disney without staying at the BWI. We tried the WL the second year and I wanted to move our second day. It was just not the same. You will love the resort and the fun things that go on. Being in such close proximity to two parks can't be beat either :thumbsup2 Enjoy it because I am sure like everyone else our time goes way too fast when we are down there;)

Hello everyone...We just booked a Garden Suite room for our upcoming stay in Nov/Dec. Can anyone give me more info on these rooms? We have never stayed or stepped foot in the Boardwalk Inn so I am clueless! I guess one of my first questions is where are the Garden Suites located and do we get access to the club level? If we do get club level access where will it be in relation to our room? I am very excited to learn more about this resort...any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks:goodvibes

Thanks for your reply! :goodvibes We are so excited about this resort and glad to hear that standard is great too! My DH and I are looking forward to spending a few nights out on the balcony while the kids fall asleep! My parents are coming too and are over the moon excited about staying so close to Epcot, their favorite park! We have all dreamed of staying so close to the parks and it will be a VERY nice step up from our last trip at Pop Century! The grounds look beautiful and I love the look of the new rooms!

I've got a stay at the BWI booked for this October, so I thought I'd join in on this thread!

We stayed in a Garden Suite for part of our honeymoon back in 2003. They are really neat, unique rooms with lots of personality. The garden suites have cute courtyards with picket fences outside the entry door. They are near the quiet pool area. Yes, you do get access to the club level (Innkeeper's Club) when staying in a garden suite. We took the long way back up through the lobby to get there, but it's my understanding that there is a staircase you can take that will get you up to the lounge quickly--I would just ask the CM's where it is when you check in.

Here are pictures of our garden suite (but the decor is different now--this is from back in 2003):

Beth - we are booked for a standard view room. My TA is going to WDW with her family in late August and this will be her first stay at the BWI. She has promised to check around to see what request would be the best for me to make (I know requests are not guarentees.) For now we have requested a quiet location on courtyard if possible. And since I have been reading this thread the past few days I know that I also want to request a full balcony.

I think the full balcony will be our other request too along with connecting rooms with my parents. If you remember and wouldn't mind letting me know the things your TA finds out and your experience too since you will be going sooner than us! :goodvibes

Beth, if I forget to answer this question by the middle of September (when I should have heard the personal report from my TA) post again asking me that question. I'm sure I'll keep reading this thread fairly regularly. I kept up with the Polynesian FAQ thread for the first few weeks after we returned from our visit there May 12 -19 with our two granddaughters. The Poly was perfect for our trip with the girls ages 10 & 7. Plus we have the nostalgia factor of having taken our children there way back in 1975 and 1980 when they were young. Now I'm reading this FAQ on the BWI trying to catch up. I'm up to page 50 plus the last few current days.

We have stayed at BWI, standard view, not CL, several times per year over the last 6 or 7 years. We enjoy the Courtyard or Quiet Pool views because it it so peaceful and quiet. Unlike some others, we prefer to be far from the lobby, and take the outside walk through the courtyard back through to the lobby versus going through the long hallways. When you are in the outside area of the courtyard part of the BWI, it seems as if you are in a small private hotel with no idea of the activities happening on the Boardwalk. We enjoy having breakfast in the Bellevue Lounge and eating on their small outside balcony, or on the Boardwalk with coffee and treats from the Boardwalk Bakery. It is just me and DH and we'd rather stay in standard and stay and extra night, than pay for CL. It is all a matter of personal preference, but I'm sure you will be happy with the standard room!
