Still forgot to clean are room!!!
at big bucks a night... had to call to get towels, and we tipped them everyday.
They dropped the ball.

We stayed at the Boardwalk the first week of Dec. and loved the Hotel itself. Just wish the kiosks and small eateries on the boradwalk stayed open later than what they did. They were all closed by 11:00 pm. Also not many places on the walk to use a counter service if your on the dinning plan. Other than that, loved the room and everything else about it. Big River and Spoodles are both great plces to have a meal. Didn't get to try The Flying Fish, but I'm sure it is good too. We had a great time and can't wait to go back again even though we just got back a couple weeks ago.

We just booked a Studio Villa room at the Boardwalk Inn. This will be our first time staying here. We have stayed at the Beach Club & Animal Kingdom Lodge in the past.

Anyone have any pictures/opinions about this type of room? I liked that it had a balcony/patio & a microwave/toaster. Any specific view I should request?

We got back from our first stay at the BWI. We loved it! The resort was so pretty. The newly renovated rooms were quite nice. We used all the pools and hot tubs. My kids had fun participating in the daily activities for kids. We ate at Big River and ESPN a couple of times. We got some BW goodies as well. We really enjoyed being on the BW. The performers were great!

I was pleasantly surprised at how many families were staying there. I just always thought it was mainly couples. Our family will definitely be back. When we stay at an Epcot resort for now on it would be at the BWI :thumbsup2

We did have a complaint with housekeeping the first couple of days, but it was taken care of. We just had to keep in contact with them on when to get the room serviced. They pulled through and really helped out when my dd was sick in bed all day.

We just had that issue and the fact that my 13 yr old dd said the day bed was the not comfortable at all, but she dealt with it. Other than those two things everything else was great and above our expectations.

We had heard of a late place to eat in the Swan, but hadn't noted too much about it. But we sought it out.

More people need to know abgout Picabu! Picabu is a cafeteria type setup hidden way out of the way at the Swan. We missed it twice before we got directions urging us to go further down this hallway that seemed to be a dead-end, but ended up in a TREASURE! This place is open until at least 2am, sometimes later apparently. They had HUMONGOUS portions, and great variety! There is a meal deal, which I want to say was around $15, which included a choice of main dish (such as roast chicken, lasagna, etc), and two side dishes (potatoes, corn, mac n' cheese, and more), and a large refillable drink. We should have shared, but we had no idea the portions would be so huge. You could share with a spouse, maybe even a spouse and a small child, on one meal. We felt awful how much food we left behind!

They have alcohol for sale there--beers and small bottles of wine--as well as lots of snack convenience items, such as chips and cookies, and bottles of soda. After the hot food section closes, apparently the rest of the grab n' go items are still available 24 hours.

This is a fairly short walk from either BW or BC/YC, and if you need a late night bite, I highly recommend it!

Just wanted to let you know that Picabu is at the Dolphin, not the Swan, and yes, it is wonderful! It is the one thing we missed when we stayed at the BWI.

Darnit all! You'd think after finally BEING there I would get them straightened out! Thanks for the correction!

I am planning an "all girls" trip in April/May - my mom's 80th, my sister's 40th, and my other sister's 50th:cool1: It'll be five of us, and I was thinking of the YC or BWI as we most likely will spend most of our park time at Epcot. Does anyone know if the deluxe room can sleep 5 adults? It probably makes most sense to get two standard rooms, but I love the idea of staying CL - I have stayed CL at the Poly and BC, and felt the Poly was amazing and BC CL was just ok (really like the resort, but felt the CL not worth the cost in this case). Those that have stayed CL there, is it really special? If it is as great as the Poly, I might feel it worth it to splurge on two deluxe rooms. Thanks!

I'm not an expert like some of the great guys on here, but have stayed at the BWI twice - 3rd time will be CL this coming May, it's the one resort where I feel 'really comfortable', the CMs are great (CL or not) and the resort is just gorgeous.

Re. CL, I have only had 1 stay CL so far at the BWI but following that stay I can honestly say the CMs there are amazing and I'm looking forward to my upcoming trip. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made me feel extremely welcome, which is something I'd not encountered at any other resort CLs.

I do a girls trip every year and our favorite place to stay is the BWI. The deluxe rooms a big enough to sleep 6 They have new sleep sofas in the rooms now that they have all been renovated.

The cast there will go out of their way to make your trip special. I will be going in May for my girls trip, but before that my husband and I are taking our 6 yr. old grandaughter for a special trip. We would not stay anywhere else!!

Question about the BWI, we are thinking of staying there with a water view room, and I have a question about the view.

If you pay extra for a water view room, can you also make special request? Like a boardwalk view or a full balcony? Or would we need to change our room category for those things?

We've never stayed at the BWI and my only concern is from the maps I've looked at, the resort looks really spread out. With a person in our party with mobility issues, I'm hoping getting around won't be a terrible problem (from room to board, to lobby, to bus or boat, to the pool, etc.)

Is it worth mentioning on your reservations you are looking for a centrally located room, if there is one in your room category? Or better just to let them place you where they will?

Thanks for the great info - I am so excited about staying at the BWI (and shhhhh...a stay w/o kids:)

We just switched our ressie from POFQ to BWI. (Thanks to a 40% off code!) We are booked for a standard room and rquested a king bed and garden view. It will be an adults only trip for us as well. I'm very excited about it and hope that we'll be getting some great info from this thread.

I had it notated on my reservations that I wanted a Boardwalk View Room. Apparently a 'water view' room could mean view of the quiet pool - or at least that is what I have read.

The Boardwalk is spread out. It was a bit of a walk to my room from the elevator bank, which I didn't mind at all but if you have someone with mobility issues; you don't want my room. I would have them notate it on your reservations that you will need a room closer to the elevator bank.

I was in room 3219 (over the Yard Arcade and next to the ESPN Club) and I loved it.

Just popping in here to say that we stayed at the BWI from Dec. 12th to the 21st, our first stay on-property, and we ADORED it! We will defenetly consider staying there a second time, it was beautiful and so much fun at night!

I was just checking my dates at BWI and Disney's description says that fridges are available upon request??? Don't all the rooms have one?

Also, do all the rooms have a couch or daybed now?

My room didn't have a daybed; just the couch shown in my picture above. The picture was taken last week - I was there from Dec 23 - Jan 2.

Thanks for the pictures, your room and view looks amazing. We will have a wheelchair with us, but may still mentioned that if possible we'd like to be near an elevator.

That couch folds out into a daybead. In fact, if you look carefully between the upper cushions there, you can see a hint of the black strap that is tucked in there which you pull on to open the daybed!

However, I can attest that not all rooms have daybeds. Our first room we had on our most recent trip did not have a couch, just a club chair. The second room had the couch/daybed.
