The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

Thanks for the info. I keep hoping a 2 BR villa will pop up available during this special, but I know they only allocate a certain # of rooms at each resort. I think today is the last day; although, I noticed one site said it was extended through March 29. Does anyone know if that is true? The kids really want to be in the boardwalk area (due to proximity to their favorite parks, DHS and Epcot), so I'll keep looking and hoping. Would it even be worth me asking upon check in for a 2 BR villa availability (paying the difference)....or will it cost me an arm and a leg to do that?

Thanks everyone. I am so excited to go back.:cool1:

If you are there when Illuminations shows, you can see the higher fireworks from the Boardwalk. Go down close to Jellyrolls - or actually the Big River Grille is far enough down; find a bench and look up over the Boardwalk Inn.

Jellyrolls is something that a lot of people seem to love. I haven't been there yet but it is on my list of things to do for next time.

There is some boardwalk entertainment. There are a couple of stores to browse in. I think you'll be fine. If you leave the MK around 7 - you probably won't get to the Big River Grille and seated (providing that it is slow) until around 8. By the time it is over it should be about time for Illuminations - depending on the current schedule - and then catch a magic act or so and check out Jellyrolls.

Jellyrolls just went smoke-free.

Thanks!! :thumbsup2

I'll admit that I haven't read all 74 pages!!:lmao: So forgive me if this has already been answered - but what are the food offerings on club level and does anyone have any pictures for me to drool over!!:goodvibes

Ooh - one more question - do all the deluxe club level balconies have room to sit out?? (I really want to people watch and standing room only really won't do!!)

thanks in advance!!:thumbsup2

Yes, we love to sit and enjoy the view and people watch also. The deluxe rooms balconies do have room to sit. Our deluxe rooms have always been on the third floor with two chairs and a little table. There are also deluxe rooms on the fourth floor (where the lounge is). I believe these are a bit smaller, but they still have at least one chair and a table. (Someone else will probably pop in with more details.

As to the food offerings - we were there Dec. 14 - Dec. 23 and this is what we had, along with the times. Note that the times and what the offering is called (i.e. Cordials and Desserts) is from the info that we received - I just copied it. The actual items that were served is from memory, so I might have forgotten something.

Coffee 6:30 am - 7:00 am (coffee machine is available at any time the lounge is open)

Continental breakfast 7:00 am - 10:30 am (four types of dry cereal, oatmeal, fruit - bananas, strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew, toast, bagels, pastry, milk, juice)

Refreshments 11:30 am - 4:00 pm (cookies, bowls of gummies, assorted nuts and "fish" crackers, individual bags of chips and popcorn, soda)

Wine and Cheese Selections 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm (various types of cheese, crackers, bread, pita, veggies, dips, uncrustables, wine, beer, soda and two hot items - things like buffalo wings, soup, pasta, mussels - each night there were two items; I think they were things from restaurants on the Boardwalk)

Cordials and Desserts 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm (cordials (obviously :lmao:) and mini desserts - very rich little things like mini eclairs, chocolate-covered strawberries, mini cakes, etc. - a lot of "death by chocolate" types of things)

Enjoy!

I really appreciate you sharing this! Might I suggest you also post this info on the club level thread? I was asking around looking for this info and it isn't posted over there.

So hard to believe I will be there in 3 days :hyper: eek!!

Bumping this thread closer to the front, where it belongs!!!

AND I am excited because I have been waiting for months for the grandkids fall school schedule to come out so I could book. Finally I booked a deluxe club level room for my daughter and her family, and a standard club level for myself. She was raised on the Poly, and it is her favorite. I have had her try CR (hated it), AKL (it was okay), and WL (another okay). I am hoping the deluxe room with the stunning boardwalk view will make her love BWI as much as she loves Poly.

Of course, if I am paying---I should keep the deluxe room for myself!! That view!!!

I'm so excited too - I have always wanted to stay here, and I just booked a "girls' weekend (my mom turning 80, my sister turning 50) for a deluxe room CL :cool1: :cool1: and the best part - I was able to use my 40% off code! Do all the deluxe rooms front the Boardwalk? The CM I made the reservation with told me no, but I thought I read here that they do?

Lucky you---I missed using the 40% code by 4 stinkin' days, thanks to fall break schedule.

All the deluxe club level rooms front the boardwalk. The CM was misinformed. Not all of the standard club level rooms face the boardwalk.

Hi All! I will be staying at the Boardwalk in October and am so excited. Have always wanted to stay here and finally found a rate I couldn't refuse!

What are some of the best "standard" views one can get? Also, how common is it to get a free or discounted updrade if we are celebrating a birthday??

this was interesting - as we are going for christmas next year, and had originally planned on WL (Mainly due to reports on here), but I always felt more drawn to BWI - so hopefully your daughter will feel the same - especially with a boardwalk view!!

Has anyone posted any pictures of the renovated deluxe rooms at the Boardwalk. I know they are probably very similar to the standard rooms, but I would love to see a picture!

We just made arrangements to stay here in December for my birthday, using the 40% off code! I'm so excited. We stopped by the Boardwalk for the first time in Sept and loved it, plus the location seemed perfect. It's going to be the first time we're there for the holidays. I can't wait!

We stayed at the BWI for the first time Oct 08 and we loved it! The room was gorgeous, we had a view of France and the fireworks at night were incredible...just a short walk to the quiet pool that was never used by anyone but us!

We received a 40% off code and decided to try the BC CL lagoon view, which is what DH wanted, but the other night he said to me "I think the BC is going to be too chaotic for us, lets go back to the BWI instead" which thrilled me!

So I call WDW and they had a garden suite (the little honeymoon cottages) CL open and I grabbed it! Cannot wait! We are celebrating my b-day and 2 weeks after is our anniversary so this room is going to be perfect to celebrate both events!!

Anyone have pics of the CL lounge and food offerings?

Garden Suite info--
We stayed in GS #1205 IN April 08. The room had not yet been refurbed and was very much in need of an overhaul. The GS was terrific for the extra space and bathroom since we had our two sons staying downstairs.

My biggest complaint with the GS was that it was a 10 minute walk to everything-- the lounge, the buses, the pool, the boardwalk So plan accordingly.
