Leaping Horse Libations is at the pool, and it's listed as a refill station...

I booked a room with standar view for August 9th. I would like to know if the renovations are going to be on that part of the hotel by that time. This is my first time at the BWI and that was the only room type available for my days. Thank you!!!!

We just got back from the Boardwalk today. The renovations are moving along and I would think you would have a chance to get a renovated room by August. We were in a standard room - awesome view of Illuminations. Our room looked directly at the Eiffel Tower in France - room 5304. The hallway going on the 5th floor going toward the Boardwalk side is complete. New carpeting and the rooms are done....we got a sneak peak compliments of our maid. They look great! Mahogany colored bed frames, a desk with pullout table, new TV cabinet with flat screen TV, and they have added shelving around the sinks. Of course, new wallpaper, bedspreads, curtains etc. They are really pretty.

Ask for a garden view - upper floor. The CM at the desk told me that many of the standard views do look at a parking lot. We had a great location though.

fall08CP...I have a question. We are booked into a 2 bedroom suite standard view in mid Dec. We are not DVC members. Are there any particular locations I should request? I know NOTHING about this resort. I would have loved a different view but nothing else is available. So any help you can give would be very much appreciated!! :goodvibes

Request a room overlooking a courtyard or garden. :) No guarantees but those won't be parking lot views!

Thank you for that report! :) We've been told the 5th floor will be done by July 26th... we check-in July 29th. Do you think that's on target?

I am confused - some reports are that the renovations began with the Club Level, which will be done 7/26. That would leave the rest of the regular rooms to begin after that.

I am now reading that a good number of the rooms will be done by August. (??)

I am totally confused about the progress with the regular (non-Club) rooms.

I've read conflicting info..

Some have said that refillable mugs are refilled at Leaping Horse Libations, but not self serve?

Some have said that refillable mugs are refilled at Seashore Sweets and Boardwalk Bakery?

Anyone have any definate info as to where mugs at BW can be refilled?
CM's on the phone are useless, constantly getting conflicting info...

Thx.........

Everything you just said is true. You can refill your mug at all those places (also the pizza window at Spoodles) but none of them are self-serve. And don't bother calling the Boardwalk because the people you are getting on the phone are at a call center off property. They have no clue. In all my stays at the Epcot resorts the only place that offers self-serve refills is the Marketplace at Beach Club. :)

I believe all of that info is pretty accurate. We've had first hand accounts here on the DISboards of the 5th floor rooms being refurbed, so we know for a fact that is going on right now. The CM I spoke with at Boardwalk IPO connected me with an actual CM at the BW CL and she said the 5th floor should be done 7/26. That means it took them about 2-3 weeks to complete that entire floor. So it seems pretty reasonable they can finish the regular guest rooms by the end of August. It's not a huge resort. (the BWI) Remember this doesn't include the villas.

From what I saw there this week they should be done - they are working quickly! I would say that 1/3 to 1/2 of the 5th floor is already done!

They definately have the mugs at Boardwalk Bakery - I had mine refilled there and at the Bellvue Room in the morning where they also sell continental breakfast items.

As a BW guest, now that refillable mugs are "generic", and not resort specific, as a BW guest you can also refill at Marketplace or Hurricane Hannahs for that matter if you're by the BC/YC..

Official Disney policy states refillable at own resort..My friend and I have called a few times and they still say the same thing..Thats funny though..
So many people on this board say they refill at other resorts except the
CSR...

Wish the CM's would get it right...At this point, I'm very cynical..Whatever official advice gives me on the phone, I now can expect the opposite to be factually true..

Sad, to have so many Disney employees so poorly informed!

This particularly irks me with those that have split stays..Disney tells split stay folks that they must buy the mugs again, when in reality now that they are generic you can use them during your split stay...What bad customer service IMHO!:surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:

:flower3: Thanks TigrLvsPooh! I was thinking "by August" meant Aug 1...so it didn't seem likely that they would finish the Club level on the 26th and then complete the rest of the resort in under a week. If end of August is the expectation, that seems reasonable. Now I see - thanks!

:flower3: Thanks Tinkerbell60! Appreciate the first-hand account. We are checking in end of this month and I am hoping they'll have a good amt of refurbished rooms to increase our chances of getting one. Wouldn't it be great to get a brand NEW room - just completed? Wow. Though, I know I shouldn't think about it and just consider it a BONUS if we get one.

This is my first Deluxe stay - can't wait!:goodvibes

We are staying in a standard room CL 8/27-9/2. Does anyone know if there is a pull-out bed for the standard room. CRO said the is a "very small bed", for someone less than 5 ft.,along with the 2 queens. Also, what room number is best to request? Lastly, are there cabanas to rent by the pool?:wizard: Thanks!

We were in a standard room (non Concierge) so I can't recommend a room number. The day bed is small. My daughter is just under 5 feet and it was a little tight for her. She could not really stretch out. There is no pull out unless they have them in the remodeled rooms. There are no cabanas by the pool.

I wish they would have been more upfront about the sleep sofa in the rooms. We stayed at the BC and the sleep sofa is daybed size. I know someone said the new rooms looked like they have full sized sleep sofas. Are any of the standard rooms going to be done by August? Wondering if we may be able to get lucky and get one...and if so, where would I be asking for a room?

If not, what are the best rooms there to ask for? We have three kids, 3, 9, and 13.

hi, can anyone who has been to the BWI recently and stayed club level tell me if check-in was handled in a separate area or did you have to check in at the main lobby? thanks

Francie sorry I don't know the answer to your question but I'd assume so.

When are you staying at the BWI? We will be there 8/19-8/21
