I have an upcoming trip to BWI concierge in December. Is there anything I should request as far as room goes? (location suggestions, anyone??) It is just DH and me. :sunny: When should I expect the concierge planners to contact me? Anything to know???

Thanks :sunny:

Tinks, I too will be at the BWI in December. I have been in contact with the IPO since May!! I always stay at the BWI, so I know enoght to contact them. It is best to contact them through e-mail at WDW.YBBW.COCIERGE@Disney.com. The planners here are wonderful. They have booked the Candlelight Processional package, Mickey's Christmas Party, all of our ADRs and have put me in touch with two chefs for a surprise private dinner for m,y husband. I also had them order a mini wedding cake for Jim and I. We will be celebrating our 35th anniversary.

If you booked a deluxe room, then you will have a BW view. I love these rooms. You could also get a BW view or a garden view. Make sure you request to be on the 4th floor where the lounge is. There are some rooms on the 3rd floor. The cast of the Innkeeper's Club are wonderful. They have become good friends to my family.
Any other questions please ask. I love talking about my favorite resort!

Hi! We will be at BWI (concierge) in December as well! :) Kerry, I know you've probably mentioned this a million times, but where do concierge guests check in? Thanks!

First-timer to BWI .. what views do standard rooms have? I saw (on the first page) that rms 5272-5284 would have a view of SE/Illuminations .. are these all standard rooms, and are they even only? Anyone have any good photos from their room, or a suggestion as to the 'perfect' room? thanks!

PS. Any suggestions on BWI in general are welcomed too!

Edit: I also saw Fridges are $10 per day, I thought Deluxes all came with fridges?

AlexandNessa, you will check in right on the 4th floor at the entrance to the CL rooms. tell bell services you are CL guests and they will bring you up.

Foladar, yes there are Fridges in each room at the Bw, no cost.

Okay, everyone, when in December are you going?! We will be there Dec 1st - 5th.

KerryCM--It's sort of a belated anniversary for my DH (also Jim!) and me. Our day is Nov. 26th, but we can't get away until Dec 1. Congratulations to you, too!

I think I'll wait a week for concierge to contact me, then I'll email if I haven't heard from them. I already have our ADRs booked and a tour so I don't really need them for anything (although an anniversary cake might be fun :) )

Do I need to worry about view? We do NOT have a deluxe room. Are the standard concierge rooms good for views or do you usually request something?

I am really looking forward to staying here. :sunny:

Tinks--we will be there Nov 26th-Dec 4th. Not too much longer. That would be kind of neat to see you in the lounge. I have never got to meet a fellow Diser! :teeth:

Don't be afraid to say "hi" :wave2: My name is Vicki :) We arrive on the 1st around dinner so we'll be in the lounge for breakfast on the 2nd.

Thank you, Kerry! :)

We will be there December 5 - 10, then we will head to our Disney Cruise. Have a great trip, everyone! :sunny:

Tinks, Happy Anniversary! I will be there the 9th-15th. No matter what view you get you will love it there. The stanard view is of the quiet pool with a view of the high fireworks for Epcot.
AlexandNessa, maybe we will run into each other. I am well known amoung the cast, so just ask any of them who I am!!! They are all so wonderful there.

Hi everyone,

I booked our room at the BWI this morning for an upcoming trip. We are going to stay in a garden suite. I am very excited. They look so beautiful and peacefull. IPO had already emailed me when I got home this afternoon welcoming me and giving me their contact info. I was very impressed. I have stayed in several Disney concierge rooms before but never (that I can remember) been contacted by IPO the same day I booked. I was torn on the Deluxe concierge room and the garden suites because of location and view. I would love that boardwalk view and close proximity to the lounge that the deluxe room would give me. However, we also think the peacefull setting and extra room the suite gives will be nice. My husband leaned more torwards the suite so we decided to go with that.

I have only read one review from a garden suite but seen where many people have booked them. Can someone that has stayed in them please give me a quick review of their experience? How long was the walk to the lounge from the room? What do you see other than your private garden when sitting on your patio? Is it possible to see any of illuminations (that's not a huge deal). I figure we can go to the lounge and enjoy the evening offerings while watching illuminations anyway. It will just be the two of us so walking back and forth with the children want be an issue.

I would appreciate any info you could give.

Thanks,
Myra

I just wanted to update that I was contacted by IPO for our upcoming stay. :sunny: I'm impressed. This is my 3rd stay concierge. Once at the Polynesian (great concierge), once at GF RPC (not impressed. I was never contacted or helped by them) and now BWI. So far, so good! :thumbsup2
If anyone has any anniversary ideas for DH and me, please share! I booked the candlelight processional dinner, a dinner at Narcoosees, and a Segway tour.

Myra--I have never stayed in a garden suite, but they look wonderful!

Tinks,

Thanks for the reply. The suites do look wonderful. I'm glad you're having a good experience with IPO as well. I couldn't believe they contacted me the same day I booked. I have had wonderful experiences with the IPO at the Polynesian before too. This is the quickest I've ever heard from any of the others though.

If anyone else has any info regarding my previous post, I would appreciate to hear any details you're willing to share.

Thanks,
Myra

minnie my my - I have hesitated posting to you because our experience in the garden suites was not very good, sorry to say. My DH and I were there for our anniversary last year. While the suite was spacious and relatively private, ours was not in the best shape. It was really in need of refurbishment. We also had a bad experience with loud and disruptive noise from 1 - 5 a.m. - 2 nights in a row. (We didn't complain the first night because we thought it was a fluke) Management finally determined that it was Spoodles powerwashing its duct system. It sounded like someone banging on an empty trash can for hours on end! We asked to be moved after the second night of little sleep and BWI management were very accommodating in helping us move to GF-RPC.

The lounge is fairly removed from the suites. You have to go outside and walk back to the main building, take the elevator up to the 4th floor and then backtrack to the lounge (which is actually above the suites!) There is a service stairway you can use that is closer but it's a service stairway - think concrete steps and walls.) So while the suites do offer some privacy, they are inconvenient to the lounge.

We thought the lounge was nice, though much smaller and way less offerings than GF's RPC - for the same money. The lounge staff was wonderful and the planning office exceptional. I just felt that the value was not there considering the price on the suites. If I stay at BWI again, I would reserve a deluxe concierge room for its proximity to the lounge and the Boardwalk view. I hope this helps.

minniesota - Thank you for the reply. I was thinking that the way to the lounge may be a little inconvenient. I am sorry to hear that your stay wasn't too wonderful. I have also stayed in the RPC at the GF and loved it. I will probably be comparing the two as well. I think I also may miss the boardwalk view the more I think about it. I may talk to my husband tonight about switching. It would also save us about $200 a night. That is always nice.

Thank you for your response. I like hearing the good and the bad.

Hi Kerry,

It's been a while since I talked to you, I'm the one going for Thanksgiving, been thru Katrina and you gave me the Name of someone to call, which I did. He is no longer there, but the person who took his place said for me to call a few weeks before we arrive, because that's when they get the ressie info. I plan on requesting an EPCOT view, but honestly after waiting two years for a vacation we'll probably be happy with a garage view. I just wanted to thank you for being such a great help. Please send some pixie dust my way, God knows we need it!(Still working on house repairs after storm!!)
