minnie my my - I have hesitated posting to you because our experience in the garden suites was not very good, sorry to say. My DH and I were there for our anniversary last year. While the suite was spacious and relatively private, ours was not in the best shape. It was really in need of refurbishment.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but just wanted to pass along that The Deluxe Guide To WDW indicates that the BWI's Deluxe Concierge rooms are scheduled for a rehad for Fall 2007. Not sure if this will include the Garden Suites or not. But if it does, it wouldn't surprise me if they look a little run down.

Hi I have tried to read as much as possible but I have to stop for a while. We are going 11/26-12/3 we have a waterview room any recomendations please.

I have another question about our upcoming trip. I changed our garden suite room to a deluxe concierge room. I really liked the idea of having the boardwalk view and being closer to the lounge. I have read on these boards that you are gauranted a boardwalk view with a deluxe concierge room but the reservation agent said it could be a pool, garden or boardwalk view. She said that I could not book a specific one. Several people on here have said that it was a gauranted boardwalk view so I am hoping that the agent was wrong. Does someone know what the correct answer is?

Thank you all for your help.

Myra

We stayed Deluxe Room concierge in Fall of 2005. We had a Boardwalk view-we made the request but it's not a guarantee. The flip side is if you get a garden view you may be able to see the Epcot fireworks. Make the request and they will try hard to accomodate you-Good Luck

All deluxe concierge rooms have a BW view. You do need to remember though that they are not all on the 4th floor where the lounge is located. Some rooms are on the 3rd floor.

Thank you for the responses. I don't mind being on the 3rd floor. I would just really like to sit out on my balcony and look over the boardwalk. Oh, that brings me to another question. Do all of the deluxe rooms have a full balcony?

Thank you,
Myra

I was wondering if anyone could comment on the condition of their room at the Boardwalk Inn. I have read several posts that said the rooms were extremely "rundown" and in much need of refurbishment. Thanks for the info:)

We stayed at the Boardwalk Dec. 10th-19th and our room was perfect! Not "rundown" at all and not in need of refurbishment. Our room was a standard view room (we had a nice view of the courtyard) but we had a bigger room than the last time we stayed there in June. Everytime we've stayed at the Boardwalk, our room has been in great condition and we can't wait to go back next month! :)

We will be at the BWI from April 24th to 27th - 3 nights. It's DH, MIL, FIL and me. The rest of the trip we will be at POP. It's MILs 60th and we are spluring for the BWI for the last 3 nights.

I am planning on ordering a gift basket and we have dinner booked at Le Cellier.

We have booked a standard room because that is what our budget allows for, and we are expecting to be assigned a standard room. Other than non smoking, are there any suggestions for general room requests? When DH and I stayed at the Beach Club two years ago for two nights we requested high floor with full size balcony, and we had an awesome standard room - we could see the fireworks at Epcot.

Or more pertinately (is that a word?) are their particular rooms we should try and avoid?

I am also thinking about ordering a cake from the bakery - do they do custom orders or do they have set cakes?

Are there any other little (not too costly but doesn't have to be free) suggestions for birthday in an around the BWI? (not at the parks)

Thank you
Rachael

The only rooms I would avoid are the ones on the main floor (or any floor) that look out onto the entrance. You can't open the sliding because of the bus fumes.

Does the Boardwalk sell the refillablle travel mugs? I only remember seeing the larger type last time.

Thanks

You will love the BWI - it is such a beautiful resort!

When we stayed in a std. view room in Dec. 05, we did request a garden or courtyard view, in an effort to avoid the rooms overlooking the main entrance. We got said view, and had a lovely, peaceful 1st floor patio overlooking an interior courtyard. The quiet pool was not too far, either. We could also see the high fireworks from IllumiNations.

Enjoy - I hope the birthday trip is fabulous!

This is going to be our first stay at the Boardwalk and we are so excited :cool1: We've got 2 standard view rooms (interconnecting for medical/special needs reasons) - and after reading the last few threads have requested views of the gardens/courtyard. Is there any where in the Inn itself that we could get a quick breakfast or do we have to go to the Boardwalk Bakery? Also, are there any 'quiet' spots where we could sit and relax?

Thanks

The Belle Vue Lounge has a few things in the morning. Otherwise you will need to head out. Spoodle's has an all you can eat breakfast served by the plate rather than a buffet. They bring you more of whatever you want. One of the best deals (at least we thought is was) we found was room service. The had a group breakfast for 4 people. There were 3 of us and very hungry. With taxes, delivery charge Etc. Etc, came to something like $53. We could not finish it. Must have been a dozen and a half eggs, a pound of bacon, 2 pounds of sausage, A couple dozen pancakes, Waffles, Pot of coffee a whole pot of syrup and a carafe of OJ. For a group, not a bad deal.

There are many places to sit and relax. The boardwalk itself has many benches along the water. The garden area in the middle of the inn has places to sit. The Belle Vue lounge has an outside sitting area as does the lobbly. Lots of places.

Thanks for the great info :thumbsup2

Glad I could help. I pulled out receipts. The breakfast at Spoodles was $11.99 all you can eat. An american breakfast, not all you can eat was $8.99. I have 2 room service charges one for $52.96 the other for $59.21 one was the breakfast, forgot which one. But included the taxes, delivery charge and automatic tip.
