even if your room isn't ready, you can still "check-in" at the front desk, they'll give you your park passes and you can go on your way. They'll give you a card you can call and check to see if your room is ready.

We had a change of clothes in our carry on's and just checked out luggage with the valet until we came back later in the day. The only thing you won't be able to do is get that refreshing shower after being on the red-eye.

We are planning a trip to one of the Epcot resorts. The Boardwalk seems to be number one on my list right now. We will stay on the concierge level. We usuallly stay at the Polynesian concierge and love it. We just want to try something different this time. When staying concierge level at the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge the food offerings reflect the region the hotel is themed for. I am wondering what some of the offerings are at the Boardwalk. I've seen plenty of specifics on breakfast here but not the other hours. Could someone please list some of the food you have seen on your previous trips?

Hi Minnie,

If you are looking for the quantity and selection of evening offerings they give you at the Poly, you will be disappointed in the BW. The lounge is very small and the selections are basically your cheese and crackers and maybe one or 2 other small things. I definately did not notice anything that would want me to make a meal out of eating dinner there (like you can at the Poly).

However, I will tell you I was there in Nov 2003. They may have changed since then. However, their lounge is pretty small so I doubt it.

Thank you for the reply. We will still have priority seatings for dinner so we want make a meal out of it. I like the Disney restaurants to much for that. I would just like to know some specific offerings they have. I just like to know what to expect before our trips.

The offerings are plentiful in the evening - at least one hot appetizer, tons of cheese and crackers (brie and other delicious variaties), vegetables and dip, fruit, wine, soft drinks, coffee, tea, pastries, cordials, etc. We've always thought the offerings were perfect - the food isn't intended to be a meal. There is plenty of spead-out seating in the lounge - couches, chairs, tables. Also, there's a great balcony.

Just booked BWI concierge and I'm so excited (and glad to hear that the lounge is not "small" and the offerings are not sparse)!!! We tried AKL CL last August and loved it, but DH wants to try something different. Wondering if it's possible to sit out on the balcony at the lounge.

Absolutely, their balcony is quite large as well. Great view of the higher fireworks at Epcot from there every night. You'll love the CL staff.

I need help deciding between bwi and bwv. I will be at wdw for the food and wine festival so will be at Epcot a lot! I have booked a suite at bwv but I am having second thoughts. I will be traveling alone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the concierge lounge only open certain times throughout the day?

We stayed at BWI end of April beginning of May.

The Inn side is closer to EPCOT, than it is to MGM. The Villas are on the MGM side.

Not sure of the Villa side, but on the Inn side, we had to walk almost back to the lobby to be able to get back on to the Boardwalk. As I understand it, they purposely built the resort that way, so that non-resort guests would not be wandering around the grounds. Which is just fine with us.

We found this resort to be very quiet - one afternoon at the quiet pool, there was no one else there but us.

The main boardwalk and main pool are more lively, and not quiet.

We loved this.

KerryCM is our BW expert, but she's in Disney right now. Check with her when she gets back, but I'm 99.9% sure that it remains open all the time. The food service is still available only during certain hours, but you can go into the lounge and relax at any time.

Are the water view rooms at the BW worth the extra money over the standard view rooms? I have walked around the Boardwalk, but never stayed there. I have always dreamt of staying in one of the rooms above the promenade. But I don't know how nice the views are from the normal standard view rooms.

Do all water view rooms guarantee a view of Crescent Lake?

Yes, I believe your water view room will look out over the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake. I think the water view would be very nice. I have always wanted to stay in one of the rooms overlooking the Boardwalk itself and watch the Friendship launches from my balcony.

The standard view we always get is of the lovely courtyard/gardens. There are flowering trees, and winding paths, and not much foot traffic. Very peaceful and beautiful view. If you are high enough you can see some of Epcot's fireworks. I guess you could get a standard view that faces the front of the resort, and I wouldn't like that view as much, but in the 5 times we have been there we have always gotten the courtyard/garden view as our standard.

The concierge deluxe rooms, do all of them have queen beds or is there one with a king? I don't mind either but I'd prefer a King since I stretch out something fierce and flop around a lot If they don't I guess I can deal with a Queen, I'll have my best friend with me anyway.

And the deluxe rooms are the only concierge rooms with a BW view correct?

The deluxe rooms are NOT the only concierge rooms with a BW view. There are only 3 deluxe rooms on the 4th floor and 3 on the 3rd floor. I have had the non deluxe rooms as a BW view also. The deluxe rooms I have had only had queen beds. These rooms are larger than the standard room with a sitting area, 2 tvs and a queen size sleep sofa. Either way you will not be disappointed. This is my favorite place to stay.
