Just a couple of days until the elusive AK Pin Event and the digging for the lost pins...they will be coming by car, plane, and train....w/ pin bags in hand....pin trading will be everywhere.....and I for one can't wait....thi s should be a ball.....just don't forget your boas.....and if it is as breezy as it is today...we may just have to "pin " them on..

Is everybody ready??? The Contemporary has been alerted to be ready to receive lots of pin traders on Fri....

A ROYAL SEND OFF

Be it known, on this joyful day in April, a royal wish of happiness and good times from the Queen (who is making this wish now as some of you are leaving today for Saturday's Royal pin event and who is going to NYC to see Phantom of the Opera in NYC today ). Anywho dahlings.....have a royally good time, wear your boas with pride...you will all be beautyful! The Queen does not know how she will pass the time waiting for all the tales of the quests for certain pins and pictures of the event...

will Tarzan be jealous of Raul's loincloth?
is Lady Donna to wear a matching ensemble?
is there to be a celebration for a certain royal counsel's birthday?
who will get the coveted egg pin?
when will thou do thy map?
doest thou truly wish to stand in line to get thy pin signed?
will the food be most excellent (is Sir Chef Manny cooking?)
will that lion still be sitting in the same place on the safari (is he real or not?)

O' gracious Queen, the lion on the rock IS real, but they air condition the rock so that he has incentive to stay there! I've actually gone on the ride and had him not be there.

we shall be in the midst of time travel tomorrow eve - to hasten our departure to that land of mystery and wonder!! Whilst we shall not partake of the AK pinning- we shall enjoy the company of others who shall be there. Being to the left of Sir Michael - i shall follow the words of that great monarch, Marie Antoinette - "let him eat cake, er, crumbs" as we all partake of many fine delicacies. Parting is such sweet sorrow!!

A Royal Request.....

Where art all my Boa Brigade members? Those of us keeping the home fires going over the weekend are impatiently awaiting thy tales of the AK event!! How many boas were there? Who did you see? What did you do? What pins did you trade for? And pictures? We'd love to see some pictures!!

Sad to say, Lady Dawn and Lady Audrey were there with their lime green tees but alas forgot our boas. Lady Lori did provide us with them on Friday evening but since we did not stay on property when we realized we left the boas behind it was too late.


We did enjoy the event from afar. Mom and I were rather shy about introducing ourselves to the rest of the brigade, but I will say this. I could see the brigade having much fun.

Till the next meet (probably September for me mom may not go) I will be sure to protect the boa til then.

To keep watch over the Realm during the Queen's absence (specifically during the pin trading cruise) EpcotKilterFan shall now be known as Lady Debbie, Royal Protector of the Realm. thank you Lady Debbie for accepting this most important post!

Ladies Dawn and Audrey, sorry thy boas didn't make it to AK, but the Queen looks forward to meeting you in person in September!!

Your Majesty the Queen and fellow members of the realm,

I wish to humbly report on the appearance of the Royal Brigade at last nights AK event. Whilst the event was extraordianary, the presence of brigade members was prominant and noticed by all who were present. When we first approached the Animal Kingdom (of which I have yet to meet the queen, or my counterpart) we immediatley noticed a SEA of Lime Green Mickey T's, Animal print ears and Feathers, which were flaelling about everywhich way. As one member of the brigade entered, immediatly a hush came over the crowd. We had pink, green, red, white -- all colors of the boa rainbow were represented.

After the arrival of the ladies in waiting and other participants of the Boa brigade, we awaited the arrival of Sir Ed in his wig, boa and loincloth (realize here that I was dressed inconspicuously as I had no intention of attempting to compete with that get-up). Well were we disappointed when he showed up without that wig! And what a sight it was when he arrived in his Levi's 501 denim LOINCLOTH!

Among the honorable attendees were myself, Lady Robin, Lady Lori, Lady Donna, Lady Michelle (the Baudy wench (among other things)), Lady Dana, and MANY MANY others. I tell you the boa brigade was an obvius presence. One of our newest honorary members who's like for wine led him to wear a boa most of the night, AND he was awarded an LE 1000 pin by a CM for his dedication to the brigade!

I believe the Queen and the rest of the realm would have been very proud of our representation at the event!!!

There may have been some problems w/ time planning at the event..and some other things...but there was certainly NO PROBLEM w/ our royal boa brigade....from the moment we walked into the AK area w/ boas adorned...we were greeted...Hi Boa Brigade..from everywhere...it was great!!

After Tarzan Rocks, and we fina
lly got to enter the Dino Land area...Even the CM's were greeting us w/ hails...Hey look it's the Boa Brigade..and Welcome Boa Brigade...it made us feel so welcomed....

So not only were we representing our boa brigade....all of us in our sea of Lime Green, and D.I.S. board buttons, but we also proudly represented all of us here on the DIS boards....and let everyone know that we are out there

And Sir Michael is right...a certain person w/ a fondness for wine...did look rather fetching in his boa....and now he knows that a 1000 LE pin may be the prize.....Well we aren't sure...stay tuned for the next event....

Donna, I agree, our newest honorary member of the Boa Brigade did look very fetching in his boa. However, I can't decide if he looked better in your red one, which looked great with his dark coloring, or my pink one......... that went very well with the white zin. he was drinking!!

After having been away from the realm (and the DIS) for a fortnight or so, I am amazed at how the realm hath grown. May I add my congratulations to all who have recently been appointed by our most honored Queen Leslie.

I think it will take me a night or two to catch up on my reading on all that has gone on while I was away -- I do hope the protocol hath been kept during my absence. And I, too, anxiously await seeing pictures of the gathering of the royal realm at AK.
